Please can anyone help. ## Hello, Sil! How are you? If you didn't stop them until several days after having intercourse, then you were still protected from getting pregnant. You do not ovulate while you are taking them, they actually work by prevention ovulation. And yes, stopping them abruptly in the middle of the pack would most likely cause your period to be thrown off. When you're taking oral hormonal contraceptives, y...

I went to the clinic and i was given an all white contraceptive pill. I want to know if they work the same as the most common mixed (red and white). Thank you ## Hi Fudua, Do you what brand it was that they had given you? Only asking because I think it really depends on the brand/generic or manufacturer you're comparing it with. In general they all work very similarly for the same purpose, but many of these oral contraceptives have a variation of pink, blue, brown, and/or white pills in their blister packets; each with active or inactive ingredients. So it would be difficult to determine how each one might affect you until you actually take them. More often than not I see posts stating that the brands are better than the generics, but these types of medications can affect each perso...

Hi. I've started taking oralcon on Saturday but in different times. So tonight I had intercourse with my boyfriend and the condom burst. Does that mean I'm pregnant now? Please reply ASAP Thank you ## Hi, Sassy! How are you? Did you start them the first day of your period? If you start them the first day of your period, then you are immediately protected against pregnancy, since they will prevent ovulation. However, if you weren't on your period, when you started taking them, then yes, there is a risk of your getting pregnant, because it takes 7 days for them to become effective in your body. The only thing you can really do now is wait a week or two and then check for pregnancy. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Help I stopped taking the pill. had intercourse with ...

What's the difference in the powder blue pill on week 2 vs. The blue pill on week 3 ## Hello, Shon! How are you? If you are referring to Tri-Sprintec, or it's generic equivalents, the doses of the hormones vary each week, then the last week is hormone free to induce a period. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleeding and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

Since then I had horrible breakouts and started experiencing a lot of anxiety/migraines. Those symptoms didn't occur overn...

I just came across a list Sprintec 28's inactive ingredients and did not find gluten to be mentioned anywhere. I have taking this pill for 4 months and I never broke out on my face and I'm noticing an acne is all over my face like certain spots: chin, cheeks and jaws ## Hello, Nakeisha! How are you? Your natural hormones can also play a role, here, as reported by the NIH, because they will still fluctuate. Taking an oral contraceptive doesn't completely turn them off. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache and PMS-like symptoms. However, if it is severe acne, it could mean that this just isn't the right one for you to take and you may need to try a different one. Is there anything else I can help with?

I started my period in April, but I wasn't on the brown pill yet. and now I haven't had a period for the month of may. I have no symptoms of pregnancy. I kept holding my urine in for a while now my bladder hurts. maybe that caused my cycle not to come? idk. and I'm taking lo loestrine FE. ## Have you contacted your doctor? Why are you holding your urine in? That's never really a good idea, because it can cause various problems, such as urinary tract infections. It can be normal to skip your menstrual cycle, when you are new to taking oral contraceptives, due to your body adjusting to the hormones, but you should talk to your doctor to be certain. I'm sorry, but I need more information in order to check for any possible problems or interactions for you. Can you please post back and clarify? Thank you! Hi, Before starting with Tecfidera I did some online research and found out something really important for me. - In Europe (UK etc.) the label warnings state "Tecfidera may make oral contraceptives less effective. Use an extra form of contraception (such as a condom) while you’re taking Tecfidera" and "Vaccinations given while taking Tecfidera may be less effective than normal. Taking Tecfidera with certain types of vaccine (live vaccines) may cause you to get an infection and should therefore be avoided" - In the US, the FDA doesn't give any of these warnings I read somewhere that they don't expect tecfidera to interfere with any of the above (so FDA doesn't warn), but they didn't test this yet (so in UK they warn). My question is, did any of the T...

The doctor just gave me Minastrin 24 Fe to take to relieve severe pain during my periods and to prevent pregnancy. I just finished my period the day before I went to see the doctor. Will Minastrin still be effective as a birth control after 7 days if I quick start it? Thank you! ## Hello, Ashlynn! How are you? Yes, you just need to use a backup method of protection, until the 8th day. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, PMS-like symptoms and breakthrough bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you very much! I appreciate the help! ## Very welcome! So last year I was on yaz and after about 3 months, I started having cramps and gas and always felt like my stomach wasnt settled. My mom thought I was lactose intolerant but when I stopped my pills over summer, my stomach was back to normal. Now I am on yaz again and after 2 months the same thing is happening with my stomach. Has anyone else experienced this with yaz? Should I be worried. I think I am going to ask my doctor to switch. ## Hello, Marz! How are you? Has there been any change? Those can be side effects of oral contraceptives, according to the NIH. You may also experience headache, PMS-like symptoms, and spotting. Speaking to your doctor about switching to a different one is most likely a good idea. With many medications, it is a matter of trial and error to find one that w...

I just started a new birth control two and half weeks ago. I have been on birth control before, started at 16, with some stomach pains for a couple days within the first month. That was on Lo Loestrin Fe, then I switched to the generic. Now moved out and getting my birth control on my own at 20, a new doctor gave me microgestin. (She was so insincere and wanted me out the door ASAP). For a few days I have felt nausea and severe stomach pain, only throwing up once. But it would go away after a few hours. Today things took a horrible turn. The pain was so unbearable from my abdomen I was in fetal position crying all day like a child, while my boyfriend tried to do everything he could to help. Not eating a meal in a couple days, I dry heaved twice and my body temperature would rise and fal...

I started taking birth control this month. My dog got hold of my pill pack and now 2 of my active pills are somewhere in the garden. Should I extend the placebo period for 2 more days so 7 days instead of 5. Or take a new pack right a way and have no placebo period till the next pack is finished ?

Hello im on week four of the birth control patch going on day three and my period has not started is this normal ## Hello, Tee! How are you? I'm sorry, but I'm not clear, are you wearing a patch this week or not? Because you're only supposed to wear them for 3 weeks, then take the fourth week off. However, either way, yes it can be normal to have irregular periods due to the hormones in them. The FDA lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms.

Is it possible to take the brown pill and still miss your period if you not pregnant . ## Yes, some women stop experiencing periods while taking oral contraceptives, according to NIH reports. I've been using Purbac for a month now. Can they prevent me from falling pregnant? Secondly I've recently gain weight, can it be because of them because i'm only taking it with Texa Allegy tablets for my skin as prescribed by my Dermatologist. ## Dear Pontsho, I've always was told, when u r on birth control and antibiotics 2 use back up protection. Something about how antibiotics can interfere with the full effect of birth control. ## There are some antibiotics that don't, but this one can, because it affects how much estrogen you absorb from them, so they may not work to prevent ovulation and pregnancy, while you are on the antibiotic. If you've been actively engaging in intercourse, it would be best to have yourself checked for pregnancy and, if you aren't,...
