Bipolar disorder or bipolar affective disorder (historically known as manic–depressive disorder or manic depression) is a psychiatric diagnosis for a mood disorder. Individuals with bipolar disorder experience episodes of a frenzied state known as mania (or hypomania), typically alternating with episodes of depression. At the lower levels of mania, such as hypomania, individuals appear energetic and excitable and may in fact be highly productive. At a higher level, individuals begin to ...

Lmfao Ive found my one and only well probably as close as I'll ever get. I take kolnapin for panic and anxiety and A anti depressant mood stabilizer because I'm bipolar 1 with ptsd and I take blood thinners because I've had 2 strokes and like 4-5 days ago had a "mini stroke" and I also have epilepsy so let throw one more in the mix for fun ## I’m surprised I haven’t had a stroke but taking coverall for bp, Atorvastatin & Omerprazole I believe are cholesterol. Epilepsy’s been under control since I began Morphine. I’ve blamed everything on it since I was fine as far as my weight and appetite goes. No arthritiseither. Just your average junkie that detox programs never helped although a mild depressing or atleast a look at the idea may have he...

I have been taking lamictal 200 2xday along with cymbalta for several years. Moved, changed psychiatrist, took testing with neuropsychologist and was given the diagnosis of bipolar II and generalized anxiety disorder. Been off cymbalta for several months. I have been testing out different medicines for the past few months and no positive results. Doc started me on nuvigil a couple of weeks ago. Started out with 150 but was anxious, nauseous, and irritable. I never felt any of the "high" that i have read about. She had me to half the dose and I feel less anxious. But i am continually nauseous, anxious and tired and unable to function for more than 3-4 hours a day and some days, not that much The rest of the time, I lay on the couch. I am so discouraged. I cry alot. I don't kn...

I am suffering from Bi-Polar Disorder and my Psychiatrist has given me following medicines. 1. Desval ER 250 2. Tetrafol 3. Pentamed 40 4. Soltus OD 100 5. Pacitane I am planning to take Steroids (Clenbuterol 40 and T3) to lose weights along with the medicines prescribed to me above. What precaution should I take while taking these medicines and Steroids. Gender: Male Age: 36 Height: 5 feet 8 inches. Weight: 90kgs. ## No, the steroids will not help with weight loss, they actually cause weight gain and mostly through fluid retention, which can be quite dangerous. If you want to lose weight, you need to discuss it with your doctor to find the best way for you to do so naturally and safely. What types of foods do you eat? How much exercise do you get? ## no clen an t3 are used by bodybuild...

However, the main question I have is about why you're taking both Ritalin and Valium throughout the day? Those are basically at cross purposes with each other, so it makes little sense. My doctor put me on Invega, along with 3 other anti-depressants, 5 years ago. Invega is classified as an anti-psychotic only it had no side effects--no sedation at all was the most prominent. Now the Invega is responsible for raising my cholesterol to 318 so I have to go off it. I was on 6 mgs. and he lowered it to 3 for one week. I was fine--as if nothing changed. After going off of it, I was a mess. I was sweating, I couldn't sleep, I felt like something was crawling on my skin and I couldn't sit still. Without his knowledge I went back on the full dose because I am in a wedding of a family member in 11 days. Then I was thinking. The symptoms I was having when I went totally off of it were WITHDRAWAL symptoms, not due to the lack of the medication otherwise. The psychiatrist w...

Hello! Ok so, i was diagnosed with several mood disorders including bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, ocd, and borderline personality disorder. I have been on alot of different medicationsls and quit takong everuthing after i became pregnant. Now im detoxong out of the clinic, i have about 4 more months to go, and ive read several articles about methadone helping with bipolar. Now im scared that i really coild have this. Can you use Cilift if you have bipolar? Will there be any side effects? ## All medications carry the risk of side effects, even over the counter products. Cilift contains the active ingredient Citalopram, it is an SSRI antidepressant, which can also be used to treat anxiety, however, it is doubtful that it will help with the mood swings that are associated with BiPolar disorder. Did your doctor advise you to use it? Side effects may include: nausea, dizziness, weight gain and dry mouth. Learn more:

I cant stand the hideous side effects of any of the other bipolar drugs anymore .I take 450mg lithium now. Hoping topamax can work . ANYONE ON TOPAMAX? DRS DONT WANT TO USE IT. ## Topamax, which contains the active ingredient Topiramate, is an anticonvulsant. Some have used it to treat BiPolar disorder, but it is not approved for such uses, which is probably why most doctors do not want to prescribe it. It has some pretty serious side effects, too, include: nausea, headache, anorexia and memory prroblems. You can read more here: Has anyone else tried this medication for BiPolar disorder? ## I am currently on Toplep 50mg twice a day along with Nuzak 40mg. I have been diagnosed with Depression and Type II Bipolar. I had some memory loss in the beginning, more like forgetfulness. Mild head...

what do I do Iweigh 250 and I am on depakote would you sugest anything about triliptal helping me lose the weight and mabey helping with the stableization of my bi polor disorder too ## Hello, Linda! How are you? It might help, since it isn't known to cause a much weight gain as most other similar medications, but only your doctor can decide if it is right for you to try. The FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and mood swings. Is there anything else I can help with? ## It has also been used to treat Bipolar and other mood disorders.

Has anyone been taking this for mental issues and if so how does it make you feel ## Oxcarbazepine is an anticonvulsant and mood stabilizing drug, used primarily in the treatment of epilepsy. It is also used to treat anxiety and mood disorders, such as bipolar disorder. I did come across a brief article on the topic of using this medication for mental issues, however, it has not been as heavily studied as other similar drugs: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17376019 I know this isn't necessarily the type of review you may be looking for, but I thought some information would still be more helpful than none at all. I found myself stumbling upon a few reviews by running a google search for "oxcarbazepine bipolar reviews". I hope this helps!

I have a psychotic disorder, personality disorder, bipolar disorder and anxiety disorder. I also have an anti-social disorder and polysubstance abuse disorder. What medication can they give me to help with all of this? Can Prozac help? ## Prozac contains the active ingredient Fluoxetine, it is an SSRI antidepressant that is also used to treat anxiety, and some other mental health disorders. That said, there is no way to know how much it will help you, other than trying it. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, weight changes, dry mouth, headache, and mood changes. Usually, when someone suffers from multiple issues, more than one medication is required. What options has your doctor suggested?

I was recently prescribed an ultra high dose (300mcg and climbing) by my psychologist for a mood disorder. I guess this is a relatively new treatment. Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts, stories or warnings about this? ## What is the mood disorder? I've never heard of this, but I will ask my psychologist why a person would take it, next time I see him. ## High doses have been used to treat some cases of Bipolar Disorder. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes, and hair loss. How are you doing on it? Has it helped? ## This is a medication for Hypothyroid disorder (Underactiv thyroid). It seems strange to prescribe this for a mood-disorder. 300mcg (microgram) of Levothyroxine will put your heart and whole body in...

Can taking debendox result in humans developing behavioural disorders that are cyclic in the way they present.my daughter (35yrs old now) can appear quite normal for weeks at a time then she will exhibit borderline pshchotic behaviour then after a few days she will be OK again. ## This contains Pyridoxine and Doxylamine, it isn't used in the U.S., so I have to admit my information on it is limited. Her symptoms, however, sound similar to those of bipolar disorder. Learn more Bipolar disorder details here. Have you consulted a doctor? ## I took debendox when pregnant with my noiw 33 year old daughter. She has problems emotionally but is very bright. severe bipolar disorder 11 yrs. diagnosed, one of many meds. at 80mg. hard to adjust with symptoms like a bad hangover. not that i drink anymore but dont have high hopes for this drug at 20 60 or 80mg because of reactions ## Being removed from risperdal and put on geodan. For first few days mild headaches. Tolerating stress better. Bipolar ## Typically, side effects tend to reach their peak around 4 to 5 weeks of taking a medication at one steady dosage, then they taper off in severity, until they disappear entirely, so if you just started it, then it is far too soon to judge how well it is, or isn't going to work for you. I have bipolar disorder and have been on almost everything for it, was taking depakote and Saphris which worked great but I gained a ton of weight so doc switched me to lamotrigine because it’s weight neutral. Starting off at 25mg/day and working up to 300mg/day. Gradually by the time I got up to 100 in the morning and 150 at nite I had a RELENTLESS bronchial cough that wouldn’t respond to any kind of treatment, that became so violent that I would start vomiting until everything was completely gone from my stomach. I don’t actually feel sick at all I just have this obnoxious never ending cough that ends in throwing up. Also had lost my voice. Now I have gone all the way back down the dosing schedule and am just getting ready to go completely off of it. Tomorrow will be...

I also have major anxiety/depression as a side of the Parkinsons. Prozac & klonipan helped for a long time but then stopped effective. Abilify brought great relief from the anx/dep but aggrivated the Parkinson's symptoms to the exteent that I might have to stop taking it. I am horrified as Abilify made such a difference in my life.
