I live in San Antonio, Texas. Is this cream available in the States? And more importantly, is it safe? ## @ERQ, The combination of Betametasona [1] + Clotrimazol [2] + Gentamicina [3] is marketed towards treating various skin conditions such as pain, inflammation, itching, bacterial/fungal infections, etc. From what I've seen mentioned in another thread here, this cream is allegedly available with your doctor's prescription here in the US. However further reports suggest that it costs only a fraction of the price down in Mexico for the same ointment (i.e. $30 in the US and less than $2 in Mexico). Given this information, my suggestion would be to just get it prescribed in the US since the cost of driving to Mexico and back from Texas is probably a lot more than the difference yo...

Can it be taken in capsule form? ## You really don't absorb a lot from topical preparations, but yes, there are some medications that it can interact with, however, there are far too many to list. Can you please post back with the specific medications you'd like me to check for you? Learn more Betamethasone details here. Learn more Indomethacin details here. Both of them are available in oral formulations, but you could not safely put this topical gel into a capsule and take it. ## In reply to the person with leg cramps. I would like to know where I can find it here in Los Angeles, Ca. ## Hello, Muffin! How are you? This isn't available in the U.S., though the ingredients are, but by prescription only. The Betamethasone is a potent steroid, so there can be some risks associated with using it, such as CHF. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Kind of a late reply, nevertheless this cream is actually broadly AVAILABLE in LOS ANGELES! I use it whenever I need it, really not that hard to get a prescription in the L.A area.

I previously developed cellulitis, which started on my leg, I ended up going to my doctor and he prescribed antibiotics and an ointment and it did go away. That was three years ago. Recently I began feeling that same itch on my leg and figured it was coming back, and sure enough the rash is starting to develop. Before it gets any worse, would I be able to use this cream for cellulitis on my leg? ## Hello, Lorraine! How are you? It may help, but you should check with your doctor, first, especially since you may also need a systemic antibiotic. Are you on any other medications? The FDA lists its typical side effects as including skin redness, irritation and dry skin. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have an abcess. Can I use this cream for an abcess?

Does this cream contain alcohol? I would like to know if this cream contains alcohol. ## Hi Maria, In order to determine the list of inactive ingredients one would need to know who the manufacturer is or at least have a product on hand to check the label. Generic Betametasona + Clotrimazol + Gentamicina cream may contain any set of fillers if there's no way to identify who makes it or what the actual packaging has on it. However I do see that one company by the name of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals does use a combination of "benzyl alcohol + cetyl alcohol + stearyl alcohol" in their particular Clotrimazole + Betamethasone dipropionate cream [minus the Gentamicina]. So I think it would be normal to assume that they use alcohol in similar products, but you should probably contact t...

I cut my nose with my nail and I decided to put A & D on it. I spread it around my nostril and within two days it blistered the area and now I have redness and what looks like an infection. Will this reduce the blisters and heal my cut? ## Hello, Paully! How are you doing? No, that likely wouldn't be a good idea. You should see your doctor. Have you ever gotten cold sores? If so, you can also get them in the nose area and, sometimes, trauma such as that will cause a flare according to the NIH. If that's what has happened, the steroid in the cream you've mentioned can actually make it worse. ## Can i use betametasona clotrimazol gentamicina for a cold sore? ## For those who want to know where to buy quadriderm, you should be able to find it in most small Spanish stores be...

I have fungus in my hand just in one finger and I want to know if it'll take it off I used it before and it made it disappear but now it came back ## Hello, Cris! How are you? Actually, if the fungus is returning, then I'd suggest seeing your doctor. This might not be the right medication to fully eradicate it for you. Additionally, the steroid in this may actually worsen some conditions, as well as cause the side effects listed in the PDR, like skin irritation, redness, rash, acne and dizziness. Was this prescribed by your doctor, or just something you decided to try yourself? Has your doctor diagnosed it as a fungus? What type of symptoms do you have? ## Well like its only on one hand and it went away for a couples of months and then it disappeared and it came back , its only ...

Could you please let us know how and where we can obtain a couple of tubes of Betametasona Clotrimazol Gentamicina ASAP!!! I don't know where it is available to buy, but we would greatly appreciate any details. Thank you sooooo much, Cindy ## Hi Cindy, The medication which you are referring to contains Betamethasone + Clotrimazole + Gentamicin. This specific combination of active ingredients is not sold as-is in the United States, which is probably why the label is in Spanish. I think you have a couple of options. (1) See if you can get a doctor's prescription and have a local pharmacy compound it for you (2) If you travel to Mexico you should be able to bring the product back through customs provided it is for personal use You might also find a related discussion thread to be h...

Betametasona/clotrimaol/Gentamicina. Will it work on dark spots on your face? ## This is a combination steroid, antibiotic and antifungal cream. I have psoriasis really bad and this cream is the only cream that helps me. Where can I find this cream? ## Hello, Alexander! How are you? I'm sorry, but this medication is not available in the U.S. The FDA is generally not happy with these types of combinations. Have you spoken to your doctor? My guess would be that your psoriasis might be responding to the Betamethasone, which the FDA classifies as a steroid and it is available here, but only by prescription. Its typical side effects may possibly include skin irritation, redness, rash and itching.
