After by pass surgery in 2009 I have been advised to take betaloc 25 mg twice a day regularly and I felt no problem till two weeks back. For the past two weeks my b.p shows 160/90 regularly. I am also taking escoprin 150 in the mid-day as advised by my doctor. I just want to know whether I should increase the dose of betaloc 25 or if I should take some other medicines for the continued high b.p.? Please advise.

My doctor instructed me to use Betaloc 25mg tablets for high blood pressure, but now the pharmacist has informed me that Betaloc is not currently available in the market. So my question is, what is an effective alternative medicine for Betaloc 25mg? ## Betaloc contains the active ingredient Metoprolol, which is a beta blocker that's used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. After bypass surgery on July 2009, I have been taking SELOKEN XL 25 alongwith other medicines. .Now Doctor has prescribed BETALOC 25.instead of SELOKEN. My q.. is whether they are of same purpose? ## They are the same medication, they both contain the active ingredient Metoprolol, which is a beta blocker that's used to treat hypertension and cardiac conditions, such as yours. I am suffering from hypertension and doctors prescribed me AMLODIPINE 5 mg once a day and BETALOC 25 mg once a day for the last three years. After taking these medicines my weight increased. Could some one tell me 'Is there any side effect by these medicines/ ## Betaloc contains the active ingredient Metoprolol, both it and the Amlodipine are commonly used to help lower blood pressure. All medications carry the risk of side effects, the most common for this class of drugs are: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and headache. i had angioplasty on 25.04.11, at age of 43 yrs blood clots in main LEFT areteries, one stent inserted in left artery.acute lsv function30-35% medications at start for1 1/2 month ciploraox, ecospirin150, prasgurel10mg,trika, nialip500,betaloc25mg,atrova,flavedron now all medications are on one changed betaloc25mg to selokenxl25mg observations bp fluctuates 100/70; 90/60 pulse 99-100 cannot lift weight, sometimes suffocations, reoccuring cough, lethargy,movements restricted,can't run & do brisk walk even after 2 months, heart lsv function still 35%-40%, weight loss 10kgs please comment & advise

I am 80 year old. I have mild BP since 1981 I had Diabetes since 2012. I take Betacard and Amtas 2.5 mg. Both these medicines I am using since 20 to 25 years. My Bp is under control. Do I have to change Betacard to some other drug since its being taken for so long? ## Is Betacard a Betablocker ? I take Betaloc and have for over 25 years, and I am wondering if this is the same drug. My GP took me off this drug for some reason but after 2 days I had to go to hospital with my usually really steady BP going ver, very high. Discharge summary said for GP to NOT to take me off it again!!!!

I have stent promos xience 3.0×24 prox LAD since May of 2012. At that time my Dr prescribed Nikoran 5 mg and nicrocontin 2.6 mg. After 2.5 yrs on both meds they were stopped by the Dr. Now I'm getting betaloc 25, cardece 2.5, espringold 10mg. and I'm feeling a pinching pain in my left arm. I was admitted into a local hospital. I took sos 5 mg & feel better again, but still feel pinching pain. What should I do? Should I continue nitrocontin 2.6 & Nikoran 5 mg.?
