I was taking this medicine when i was admitted in the hospital because of vertigo. The doctor let me take this since my first day in the ward. During my first night in the ward, i started to palpitate every time i tried to sleep. First night was not bad, i managed to sleep but keep waking up from time to time. I told about my doctor about the palpitation but they said they cannot do about this since my ecg is normal. I had three sleepless nights as the palpitation is getting worse everytime i close my eyes. I just realized that it is because of this medicine when i stopped taking betahistine mesylate, palpitation stopped little by little. Im just sharing this for those people who will experience the same thing taking this medicine. ## Pilpitation is accuring every time i take betahistine

can I take 2 Novo-Betahistine at the time? ## What dosage are you taking? Betahistine, which is usually used to treat vertigo, has a maximum recommended daily dose of 48mgs, given in divided doses, either 2 or 3 times a day. Taking a higher dosage can also increase the likelihood of side effects, such as headache, nausea and weight loss, thus it's really not advisable to increase the dosage, without your doctor's approval. Have you consulted them, yet?

I am having problems with my balance. When I had this problem 3 - 4 years ago my doctor prescribe a med called Novo-betahistine 16 mg. I have been very tired for a few weeks and I have problems walking straight. I have a few of these meds left can I take one and see if it will help me? ## Hello, Lynn! How are you doing? I'm on NovoBetahistine for my "Vertigo".I had to stop taking this medication while my doctor had the section 8 paper approved,it has been almost 3 months since I had this medicine. Now I am getting severe headaches, and I was wondering if me stopping this med without weaning myself off it would cause these as a side effect ## Based on my research, headaches can be are a rare but serious side effect of Betahistine. The prescribing information states that you should contact your doctor if you experience these side effects and they are either severe or bothersome. It sounds to me like there could be some sort of withdrawal-like symptoms going on, but at the same time I'm not finding any specific details verifying whether or not Betahistine actually causes withdrawal symptoms....
