I take lipitor, lisinopril, celexa, vitamins B12, C, D, E, folic acid, fish oil, can you tell me hate is the best times to take them? ## A lot of it really depends on what works best for you and/or if your doctor has given you any special dosing instructions. For instance, in most cases it's preferred to take a blood pressure/cardiac medication like the Lisinopril in the morning, so it can help control your medical condition during the time of day that you're most active and will naturally experience the most fluctuations. And the vitamins, especially the B12 can give an energy boost, so they are usually best taken in the morning, so they don't cause insomnia. However, in some cases, the vitamin D can cause some drowsiness, especially in higher doses, so many people take it ...

I take 40mg of lisinopril a day. My blood pressure spikes at night. Can I take another 20mg? ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? It really depends on when and why you are experiencing a spike, according to NIH prescribing standards. What levels have the spikes reached? Has this been before or after dinner? Before, or after activity? There are many other factors at play, which may cause higher levels than usual. For example, as a HBP patient myself, I can tell you that I learned via my cardiologist that it can be normal to experience spikes when I first wake up in the morning, or after a nap, it is nothing to worry about. You may also experience spikes after activity, such as a brisk walk, working out, or engaging in intercourse. Such instances are also normal. It would be best not to increase ...

Would a Dr prescribe isosorbide to replace lisinopril or could it be in addition to lisinopril as one is for blood pressure and the other for chest pain? ## Hello, Martin! How are you? In this case the best thing to do would be to ask the doctor. The answer could go either way and we'd just be guessing. However, a simple call to their office should provide you with a fairly fast answer. They are frequently prescribed together, but that really depends on the diagnosis. What exactly are you being treated for?

My lisinopril (90 day supply, just opened) will expire in 1.5 months. Can I finish it off or do I have to destroy it at the end of January? ## Hello, Lynne! How are you? This medication does not become dangerous once expired, but it may start to lose effectiveness. Thus, in reality, disposing of it, once it expires would be the best thing to do, however, you may want to ask your doctor and pharmacist if you can still finish it, since its loss of effectiveness will most likely be minimal by then. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with? ## How long after the expiration date of lisinopril can you still take it? ## That’s bull about disposing it on the expera...

My doctor gave me a month to get my blood pressure down - it was 150/95. I tried my best - eliminated salt, exercised like crazy - it was still high when I went back to him so he gave me this med. I felt nothing for the first week or so on it now I'm getting insane nausea. I can't eat. I lost 4 lbs last week. Food just makes me more sick. Coincidentally, each time I checked my own bp at the pharmacy or had the trainer do it at my gym it was 115/90 - not that bad. But he insisted that I needed something. I continue to exercise and eliminate salt in order to soon get off this med. I have a hard time believing that such a low dose would make me so sick. Could this be possible? ## Hello, Sunny! Haven,t taken yet wondering g if any side effects ## Hello, Jake! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these medications, but it's always best to double check. However, I have taken them both myself before with no issues, when they were both prescribed for me. Been taking 10-12 mg.Lisinopril/Hydro for 2 yrs. My mom just passed away with ARDS and I believe it was caused by her taking Lisinopril. It just scared me so much, that I told my doctor I didn't want to take it anymore. I am also on 25 mg. Metoprolol. My doctor told me to just stop it and visit him in two weeks. So far I feel okay but still have a dry cough now and then and feel like I am fighting a head cold. Does this sound par for the course on this med.? ## Has there been any change? Yes, those can be normal side effects and withdrawal effects of Lisinopril, but things should improve in a few weeks as your body adjusts, according to FDA reports. However, it is best to keep an eye on your blood pressure and heart rate, plus keep all follow up doctor's appointments, just in ca...

I'm taking Lisinopril 20mg. Can I take Advil or Aspirin along with it? What are some things I should stay away from (foods, drinks, anything)? ## If you have high BP, or a cardiac condition, it is always best to keep your diet as low in sodium and fat as possible, according to NIH studies. You can take Advil, or Aspirin, unless your doctor has instructed otherwise. These medications can cause elevated BP, in some people that take them, so it is always best to be careful and double check with your medical provider. Caffeine could also be contraindicated. According to FDA reports. Is there anything else I can help with?

I take lisinopril twice daily (once at breakfast and once 12 hours later). You are not supposed to eat foods with lots of potassium while taking lisinopril, but how long can you safely wait AFTER taking the pill to safely eat high-potassium foods? I take metoprolol at the same time, and it must be taken with food. ## There is no safe time frame that can be quoted to you. It is just best to avoid them, as much as possible, and see your doctor regularly, so they can do blood work to check your levels, when appropriate, according to FDA directives. When your levels are checked, your doctor should be able to tell you if you need to continue avoiding such foods, or if you can indulge in them more. For example, after having suffered full congestive heart failure, it was discovered that my bod...
