Best Tablet For Liver

I have hep-c. I'm on methadone, but am switching to suboxone or subutex. I hear that naloxone is bad for your liver. Is this true and should I tell the Dr this? ## My liver is fatty and I have been an opium addict since 2010. Can you please tell me if Naloxone tablets are harmful for my liver or not? ## Naloxone is processed through the liver, so it would be best to make sure you doctor is aware of all of your medical conditions to be safe, as a dosage adjustment might be necessary to it, or other medications that you might be taking. Shiku has your opium problem cause any liver damage that you are aware of? Some medications can worsen existing damage.

What's the best way to deal with liver related edema in my legs, ankles, and feet? Currently taking 40mg furosemide and 50-100mg of Spironolactone. Weight gain related to edema. I'm on a sodium restricted diet, and drink about 2qts. of water daily. At one time I was at 4th Stage Liver Failure, I have regular banding of esophageal varices, procedures every six months. My best friend is in stage 4 liver cancer. The doctor has her on 125 ml of morphine. She has a patch containing morphine and pills with morphine. She doesn't say much about her pain. I have taken omeprazole for 18 years. My system and blood tests all seem ok. My son says I should stop and take apple vinegar before each meal to save my liver. ## Hello, Joliver! How are you? Actually, having taken it for that long, the concern isn't your live, but the risks of hip fractures. PPIs are known to cause them with long-term use, as listed by the FDA. I have NAFLD and have been told I need a liver transplant but the infliximab I am using at the moment isn't working and I am in constant pain in my shoulders, hands, knees and feet as well as pain in my ribs due to my liver and enlarged spleen. Have been told I can use this but am a bit sceptical about this after reading forums and would appreciate any feedback. ## I didn't see any warnings about it causing problems with liver disease, or being contraindicated, but it is always best to seek the opinion of another doctor, if you aren't sure. My 81 year old dad started Xalkori almost a month ago for stage IV lung cancer that has spread to his liver. The most worrisome side effects initially were a bad interaction with his irregular heartbeat medication, which has since been discontinued for now. He is no longer faint but has aversions to practically all food. Any suggestions for how to help him with this? ## Hello, Rachel! How are you? What problem does he have with food exactly? my pain is too much to handle. the doctor cannot give me more than 30 tablets of hydrocodone/acetaminophen at a time. So I need to know how many Tylenol to take to help me. ## Hi Nikki, To my understanding, no amount of tylenol (acetaminophen) is equivalent to the effects of Hydrocodone, before experiencing what would be considered an overdose of acetaminophen - which can be extremely toxic to the liver. It sounds like your best bet would probably be to ask your doctor for a stronger pain medication (that you can take less of) or opt for a safer, more natural alternative that can be used as an adjunctive therapy to what you already take. Sadly Glutethimide (Doriden) was discontinued by the last remaining manufacturer Halsey Drug (HD 550 on white round tablet) in late 1992. The DEA practically forced the FDA to make it a schedule ll drug with the ridiculously low quota of six grams. They were the best, especially with codeine ("Hits", "Cibas & codeine "). Yes they were abused but nothing like the opioid abuse epidemic of today. The last countries that used them were Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria. Doriden inducted a liver enzyme CYPD26 if I recall correctly, that made the codeine convert to morphine 80 to 90% instead of the usual 10-15%. It was very long lasting and effective. Which dosage of Vicodin is the most effective or strongest? My family physician put me on 5/500, but my surgeon has put me on 7.5/325. Hello - My Husband has been taking Amox Clav 875 2 x per day for almost 4 months. He has diabetic pressure ulcers on his feet that are healing very slowly. We are going for a liver transplant in a few months and I am concerned that he could be building up a resistance to this drug? Can that happen?
