My niece says a dr. told her she might have a seizure from taking 2 metformin by mistake. Is this true? ## It is possible, but not a common occurrence, whether or not a seizure occurs may depend on other factors, as well, such as how low a person's blood sugar drops, other medical conditions they may have, and other medications they may be taking. Typical side effects, according to the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, stomach pain, hypoglycemia, and increased urination. It is, however, always best to be careful not to double up on your medications. Is she taking anything else?

If I stop taking .5mg of xanax after only2 months wwhat's the risk of a possible seizure ## Slight ## It would ultimately be best to talk with your doctor about tapering first. But from what I've been reading, most people shouldn't have any severe problems after stopping xanax at that low of a dose. The National Anxiety Foundation states that cold turkey-ing 4mgs or more is notably what can cause moderate to severe withdrawal symptoms and/or convulsions in some cases. So in my honest opinion the risk for you is very slim. Does anyone else have advice on this from personal experience? ## 3 MG brought on a week of Hospitalization for me! ## I take 1 mg of Lorazepam Three times a day and I have gone off it no problem. Lorazepam is very close to what Xanax is so you may want to ...

Hi guys I had a seizure Christmas night and was in hospital for 2 weeks I'm guessing it was tramadol overdose related I took 16 in 1 day , now I'm out of hospital I still have the pain I always took tramadol for so is it ok to just take maybe 2/4 a day or will it possibly trigger another seizure ? Thank you ## Hello, Johnny! How are you? I'm very sorry about what happened. Really, it would be best to not take anything, without your doctor's approval. On top of the seizure, an overdose could also have cause liver damage, so you may need to be extra cautious of what you take in the future. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and constipation. Do you have a physician you...

My daughter is now on five different anti epileptics, last one added was Fycompa and everything has gotten worse. Many more partial seizures, extreme weakness, incoordination, and exhaustion. She now requires 2 to lift and help her ambulated. ## Hello, Wendy! How is your daughter doing? I'm very sorry about what she's going through. It would be best to check in with her doctor. In some people, some medications can cause the exact opposite of their intended purpose, so this might not be the right one for her to take. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, anger, aggression, changes in mood or personality, dizziness and loss of coordination. How often was she having seizures, before this medication was added?

I was wondering can i have a seizure if i only took 1mg xanax for just once a day for 2 weeks i dont really take them. I already had a seizure a while ago but I'm scared I'm going to have another one. And I don't want to take the xanax ever again ## Well you had one before so I would hope not. A seizure is always possible however looking at the amount you took and the duration, you shouldn't have problems, nor experience any of the extreme withdrawal symptoms you are reading about here. ## I'd suggest talking to your doctor first, for your own safety. Since you've already suffered a seizure, some extra caution is necessary and it might be best for you to taper very slowly to prevent such a risk. Learn more Xanax details here. Usually, one a day for 2 weeks might ...

If so, I didn't find any interactions listed between these medications, but it's always best to double check this information to be sure. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Flexeril as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. a week ago I gave my client her Vimpat with 50% water & 50% cranberry juice. She had several back to back gran mal seizures causing her to be hospitalized. Did the cranberry juice counter act the vimpat? ## Hello, Nene50! How are you? How is she doing? I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between the Vimpat and any form of cranberry. Did the doctors have any idea what caused them? Even the best seizure control medicines don't always keep them 100% prevented, so blaming yourself really isn't reasonable. ## Hello just wondering my brother cant swallow pills he takes vimpat 150mg anyway i was told not to crush anymore so i started cuting it into pieces now the pharmist told me to stop cutting what should i do can it be put into some type of beverage or juices #...

hi i am using nexito plus since last 2 years and now i stopped and i am feeling numbness in my face feet and hands. i want to know is this problem due to stopped the medicine pls help..... ## How long has it been since you stopped taking it? It is really hard to say what anyone may experience as withdrawal effects, though the U.S. FDA lists the typical ones for this class of medications as possibly including seizures, nausea, dizziness, vomiting, chills, headache and anxiety. I think it would be best to consult a doctor, as the numbness could be the side effect of certain types of seizures, or circulation problems, which may require medical treatment.

Zapiz or encorate which one is best medicine for treating epilepsy ## Hello, Anita! How are you? It really depends on which one works best for the patient that has epilepsy. Not all medications work for everyone that tries them. For example, the first one my husband tried to prevent seizures caused a severe change of personality, so though it did control his seizures, he had to stop taking it and try a different medication. Which medication has the patient's doctor recommended? Most anticonvulsants may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness and weight changes, as reportedly the U.S. FDA. ## What is the difference between Zapiz and Lopez? Do they work the same way or differently? ## I m taking zepiz o.25 for panic disorder for last 10 years can l countinu

I have been taking diazapam at 5/10 mg. /day for 50 years due to AS in my spine. Should I be taken off these tabs, as there appears to be a 6 week max. time for usage!!! Thank you. ## Hello, Roger! How are you? 50 years? That is a very long time and I have to honestly say that you're going to need to consult your doctor about this. These medications create a risk of seizures if stopped abruptly and not properly tapered. Thus, your doctor would be the best person to advise you if you need to stop taking it and, if so, the safe way to do so. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for your reply, I thought that may the case. Kind Regards, Roger

I have been taking gabapentin for one month for fibromyalgia... 500 mg a day...100 mg in the morning 100 mg in the afternoon and 300 mg at bedtime...I want to kniw if I wil have any withdrawal if I stop taking it. ## Hello, Jeannie! How are you? Yes, it is best to slowly taper it, rather than just stop abruptly. A sudden withdrawal may also create the risk of seizures. Has it been helping you? Have you experience any side effects? Why do you want to stop taking it? ## No but get ready for the pain, burning and neuropathy. I took it for 18mon. For years now I have been taking 4 tramacet and 2 lyrica every day. The side effects are weight gain, a bit of finger and arm numbness and sleep disturbance. On the good side the tramacet is all that really works on nerve pain (S1 root damage chronic) and the lyrica takes the second edge off the pain. If you are careful it should be ok. Always best to eat something with these two medicines. You have to slowly taper off either of them. No sudden stops because a sudden stop can cause seizures. ## I took Lyrica for 2 hrs for periphiel neuropathy pain and then it turned on me making me unable to see, bad uneasy feeling and kidney cancer and failure. I've been in Xanax 22 years and currently moved and don't have money for a new doctor yet any suggestions on what I can do temporarily ## Considering one can die during a withdrawal there is no advice that can be given except get to the E.R. You can't find a substitute for the poison we know as Xanax ## The information Eddy has posted is correct, it is best to heed his warning. A sudden withdrawal from Xanax, or other benzodiazepines, when someone has been taking high amounts for a long period of time can be very dangerous, and may include seizures, as well as other possibly fatal issues. Thus, if you find yourself in severe withdrawal, you should seek emergency medical assistance. Some withdrawal symptoms, as listed by the FDA, may include: nausea, dizziness, insomnia, nerv...

i am very underweight and i need the list of drug names for curing my problem tellme the drugs ## There are no medications that will provide you with a way to gain weight, healthily. Even when doctors recommend something for it, they normally give a multi-vitamin to make sure you are getting proper nutrition, which is usually the largest cause of being underweight. Your best bet is to make sure you are properly nourished, by following a healthy diet and also follow a good exercise regimen. Also, some people are just naturally small and you may never gain much weight. This is the way my body is and I have just learned to accept it.
