Maxaly always used to do the trick until it just stopped working. My MD loaded me with topamax, verapimrl, despite etc. I did the in house treatment of the DHE infusion. Botox. You name it. What is the best substitute for Excedrin Migraine ## There are some generics, but from what I've heard from others that have tried them, none of them seem to work as well. Learn more Aspirin details here. Learn more Acetaminophen details here. Learn more Caffeine details here. The best suggestion I can really make is to check with your doctor, or pharmacist and see if they can recommend something that might help. Does anyone else have any ideas?

I have been to a neurologist and have tried every medicine he has prescribed. One he prescribed makes you feel high for 2 days so you can't sleep. That's no good! Another feels like your having a heart attack. There is a long list of others! The best results I have found are inj's. of nalbuphine/nubain. I can take the inj. and sleep for a couple of hours. Then I can participate with my family life. When I asked my neurologist about Nubain he said I would need to go to the the hospital, which is $1,200 a visit. (I pay my bills and want my credit to stay good) There are doctors that prescribed these inj's. at home. I have met some online and know one personally but not in my area. I want help!! It's sad to miss your daughters piano recital because you are suffering fro...

I have a really bad migraine, the first one I've had since i started taking Belviq. Can i take my Maxalt? if not how long do i need to be off Belviq before i can take it? ## Hello, Dina! How are you? No, they shouldn't be taken together, unless your doctor approves, because they can both raise serotonin levels, which may create the risk of your developing serotonin syndrome which can be fatal. It would be best to check in with your doctor to see what you can safely take, with the Belviq. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Belviq as possibly including nausea, dizziness, insomnia and anorexia. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been taking the generic for Lamictal for about five years. Recently I've been feeling different at about the beginning of the year. I use to take the white ones but now I am taking a generic by Taro. What is the best generic for this drug? I never really payed any attention until I started getting this crazy migraines. If anyone has any insights it would be much appreciated. ## There's really no way to say which is the best, since different people can react differently, so it depends on what works for you. The best idea I can give you is to check with your pharmacy and see who manufactured the ones that you used to take and ask if they can order them back in for you. They usually can and will sometimes do so for their regular customers. Does anyone else have any advice ...

Please give me a specific answer because i am afraid of the side effects of pizotifen..thank u. ## This product contains a Vitamin B complex, with the Pizotifen, which is used to treat migraines and stimulate appetite and weight gain. However, I do not have any information regarding the appropriate amount for children. So, you may wish to check with your doctor or pharmacist, before using it. The Pizotifen is an antihistamine, so it may cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness and dry mouth. Has his doctor recommended this? ## my daughter is 1 years old and quite skinny .........please cn you tell what syrup will be the best to use fo...

I would like to know of anyone has used this medication for headaches? ## yes. didn't help me with pain. put me in a stupor and i felt like a zombie. It was prescribed by MHNI ## I have never used it, but yes, I can tell you that it is sometimes used for certain types of headaches and migraines, that have failed to be alleviated by other meds. Since it reacts to brain chemicals, this can provide some relief for people with certain problems causing their headaches. But, just lik the other poster said, it didn't work for them and it will not work for everybody. Basically when you suffer from some condition causing pain, your doctor has to play the trial and error game to find out which med will work best for you, since there is no comprehensive way at this time, even as far as mod...

I have been taking Fioricet for 20 years. Worked extremely well to keep my migraines under control. The generic does not work well at all and I have many more migraines. Where can I purchase the original Fioricet. The quality of my life is not the same and I cannot take most other migraine medications. ## Hello, Janie! How are you? I'm very sorry, but at this time, it is no longer available and I don't have any information on whether or not it will be back on the market in the future. The best suggestion I can make is that you speak to your doctor about trying a different medication. Is there anything else I can help with?

I would also like to know if I can start with half a pill 3x per day? ## Hi There. My doctor prescribed pur bloka and panamor suppositories for my migraines. I am a bit concerned now that I've read up more about the uses for pur bloka. Should I continue taking the pur bloka to prevent migraine? ## It is always best to take the medication(s) as directed by your doctor, it is far more risky to not listen to them and refuse to take the m...

Had a bad migraine and took Fioricet about 1.5 hours ago. Meeting friend for drinks - can I drink? ## It may cause you to experience more side effects than usual, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and dry mouth. If your doctor approves of your imbibing, it would be best to make sure that you aren't going to be driving or operating any possibly dangerous machinery. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have chronic leg pain and suffer from severe daily migraines. I use narcotic meds to treat both and see my primary care provider monthly to follow up. I am getting ready to undergo surgery with a specialist and will require a narcotic not as strong to help me get through for a few days. Can I legally get this filled in North Carolina with the new laws? ## The best person to ask is probably your regular pharmacist. They are used to answering such questions for customers, so there shouldn't be a problem if you speak to them in person to ask. Most state controlled substance laws do contain special exception rules to allow for issues like this, which would be a temporary dosage adjustment, but your pharmacist will be able to provide you with more specific details relevant to NC. The F...

I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. The issue is that doctors are instructed to view it as drug seeking behavior, when someone asks for a specific medication that is a controlled substance. The one you're looking for is very commonly abused and, according to the FDA, it carries the risk of being habit forming, it could also cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. I have been taking 20 mg oxycontin 2 x per day and 20 mg oxycodone 4 x per day for chronic migraines for the last 2 years and before that we tried norco's and butran's patches but the oxy works the best. Lately it seems that the oxycotin is not lasting the 12 hrs it should and I feel myself going through withdrawal about 8-9 hours after taking one oxycotin even with the oxycodone. Does my tolerance with these medications be why the oxycotin is not lasting the full 12 hours it should? I go to see my doctor in 2 days. I am going to be out of my oxycotin tomorrow and I am scared of the withdrawal as I feel like I want to crawl out of my skin and I start flopping like a fish.
