My father is having heart problems. He has also undergone stents. He is taking Deplat CV. I just wanted to know when should the medicine be taken for best results, day or night and after or before meals? ## There is no specific time of day that is better, whenever it is convenient for him should be fine, as long as he doesn't miss any doses, unless his doctor instructs otherwise. It may cause nausea, as a side effect, if that occurs taking it with meals may help prevent that, according to the NIH. Other side effects may include dizziness, headache, joint/muscle pain, and increased risk of bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am 45 years old. My blood sugar level is FBS 163 & PPBS 239 and BP 130/70. I have been taking regularly "gliclazide 80 mg + Metformin 500 mg & amlodepine 5 mg + lisinopril 5 mg". My sugar level not coming to normal level inspite of taking these medicines reguarly. Please advise should I change or add more medicine to keep my Blood Ssurgar in normal level. ## Hello, Kondodi! How are you? What types of foods do you eat? Anything sweet, including fruits will elevated your blood sugar. Additionally, anything high in fat coats the cells, so they can't absorb sugar to burn for energy, which also causes blood sugar elevations. So, the best diet for a diabetic is one that's very low in sugar and fat. Another question is: How much exercise do you get? This is also anoth...

If you want to lose weight, you need to discuss it with your doctor to find the best way for you to do so naturally and safely. What types of foods do you eat? Is it ok if I take Nyquil while I'm taking XL3 pills for a cold ## Hello, SallyAnn! How are you? No, it would be best not to double up, because they both contain Acetaminophen and taking too much of it in a day can result in overdose toxicity, which has the potential to be fatal. They both also contain decongestants and cough suppressants, so there is no need for both of them. The FDA lists the typical side effects of these medications as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hello, My weight is 90 & height 5'5 want to know the proper disage to take of ZEROFAT-A sachet, how to use it & how many months need to take. ## @PIU, From what I could gather, the active ingredient in Zerofat-A is Orlistat. According to the manufacturer, the typical adult dosage of Orlistat is 120mg taken orally 3 times daily. Apparently you're supposed to take each dose with every meal you have that contains fat. However the manufacturer goes on to note that the dose may also be taken within about an hour of finishing your meal(s). As to how long you should take it, I think that is best determined by you and your doctor, depending on your goals an expectations. I would also encourage you to confirm dosing protocols as well, since the instructions mentioned above are on...

I was on Angeliq 1/2 for 7 weeks and it was fantastic. My sweats had gone and I felt good and my aches and pains felt better. I then got a bad chest infection and fatigue set in. I am just not sure if it is the flu or the Angeliq that has caused the extreme fatigue I am now suffering. Would Angeliq cause fatigue 7 weeks into taking it? I have stopped it to see how I go. ## I am not a doctor, but my best guest would be that the fatigue is most likely due to the flu, or whatever viral illness you are suffering. The NIH does warn that you might experience it, when ill with one, along with headache, nausea, and dizziness. Do you take any other medications? What dosage of Angeliq do you currently take? ## am on Angeliq 1/2. I am feeling a little better but have severe pains in my back and ri...

My doctor and insurance are now forcing me to wear the patch for 72 hrs instead of my usual 48 hr change. I am having a very rough time after about the 30 hour mark once the patch goes into half live. What is the closest generic patch that matches the Duragesic brand? I am finding that all generics are not close to the brand. ## I used to be on fentanyl patches for years and I had to change them every 48 hours or I went into withdrawals. I live in the tropics and apart from rapid absorption after 2 days a layer of fat and salt film accumulates between the adhesive and the skin reducing delivery. ## I was on the fentanyl patch for years for my chronic pancreatitis. The brand/generic thing is complicated when it comes to painting meds especially the patch versions. Their delivery systems ...

I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Have suffered with both for years. There are times when I don't have enough energy to get out of bed for days. Plus, sleep for 24 to 36 hrs straight. Only to go to bathroom then back to sleep. I have no quality of life. Used to travel for my career and never stopped. This doing nothing is not me. My family and friends don't understand why I am not up and about as I used to be. My FIBRO pain is mostly under control, but nothing I have tried has controlled my chronic fatigue. Biochemic cell salts is working for the FIBRO. Any suggestions? Willing to try anything. Am now looking at natural meds. Several are available but don't know what is best. Very confused. I have taken Myrbetriq for 1 year. I have very blurred vision and fatigue. Just wondering if it might be best to quit the meds, and deal with the symptoms? Has anyone tried this? ## Hello, Elaine! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. Those are normal side effects for this types of medications, as listed by the FDA, you may also experience stomach pain, abdominal pain, back pain, sneezing, fever and loss of voice. Have you consulted your doctor? There are other options that you can try that may not cause you the same side effects.

I suffer from alcoholic fatty liver. I no longer drink as of 1 month. my enzynes are now normal. my doctor percribed 160mg of fenofibrate. for high triglycerides( currently at 210) I have been taking for 9 days but am getting alittle concern. I have been thinking of tossing the meds. any suggestions? ## Hi jack, In my honest opinion, the best way to normalize triglyceride levels/reduce cholesterol is stay on top of your diet. A couple "fruit-only or veggie-only" meals throughout the day would probably have a very significant impact on normalizing pretty much everything; from enzymes, vitamins and minerals, cholesterol, excess fat, any acidity from the alcohol, etc. As you can probably tell, I'm not a big advocate of using prescription drugs, since there are so many natural o...

How much fat and what type is best when taken with isotretinoin? What about taking fish oil and flax supplements with the pill? Would that be adequate? ## To my understanding, there aren't any drug interactions between Accutane and 'fat'. If there was, you wouldn't be able to eat much of anything except for fruit and veggies (which is great too!). Although if you are going to add more fat to your diet, it is generally recommended that it be "good fat", such as fish oils, flax seeds, hemp oil, avocados, and other unsaturated fats higher in omega-3's and 6's. In my opinion any of those would be more than adequate to supplement with on a daily basis (in order to help avoid cravings for bad fats). Everyone's dietary needs are different though, so what wor...

I'm on xeralto for over a year and a half for 2 dvts and one pulmonary embolism. I've gained some weight, 25 lbs but I am a huge eater, but more interesting I always have a very distended belly, some have mentioned this in the forum. It's not an easy choice as to any alternatives because vaginal I can get a clot and die very easily. Alternatives such as garlic, ginger, omega 3, vit e, are Clancy at best. So what is one to do? I'm extremely fatigued too. I didn't even think if this is because of the xeralto! Thanks all here, I love you all, we are in this together, it is a very New treatment for lupus hypercogulation which many of us have, a genetic disposition to clotting. ## Hello, David! How are you? About a month after taking Eliquis I started with being tired nearly all day. Just wanted to sit and close my eyes. I find myself leaning against walls, rubbing my face to remain alert and yawning a lot. I am also on a beta blocker but have reduced it with seemingly no improvement. MD isn't worried but it really is affecting my quality of life. MD ran a bunch of blood checks and all were normal. Right now not getting a lot of support from my doctors on this. ## Hello, Mark! How are you? The issue here is that people are experiencing this with the new medications in this class, but it's not something listed in the known side effects, which likely explains your doctor not worrying about it. I think the best thing to do, at this point, is to see him again and make sure to emphasize...
