Am still in benzodiazepines withdrawal but in healing process I gained weight does my normal weight return help ## Hello, Sam! How are you? It really depends on whether or not the weight gain was solely due to the withdrawal process or not. If so, then yes, it should go away, with time. What other withdrawal effects have you experienced? The FDA lists them as possibly including nausea, diarrhea, rebound depression, rebound anxiety and the risk of seizures.

I do want to warn everyone that is taking Benzodiazepines. Xanax, Clonazepam, Klonipin, Ativan, Valium, etc.. THIS IS A PSYCHOTIC DRUG! ONLY TO BE USED FOR 2-4 WEEKS. I was put on them for yrs. I had terrible anxiety... the more anxiety I had, the more the doctor was upping my dose! It was the Clonazepam causing it. I went to a detox, they cold turkey'd me ~ TAPER SLOWLY. You will have the worst withdrawals and they are not like an opioid withdrawal! it takes weeks to over a year to go through the withdrawals. Trust Me I was a victim of such. READ UP ON THEM. See sites like benzo.org.uk then join a benzo group. They should be treated like an opioid. They can be worse than them. ## They are treated like an opioid these days. Read EVERYTHING the pharmacy gives you with the meds. None ...

I'm scared to death. I've been on 8mgs of xanax for 7 years and on 4mgs of klonopin for 2 years before that. As my tolerance grew so did my need for more xanax but 8mgs is the highest amount allowed to be prescribed. I've tried almost every drug to help with sleep before and nothing worked. I had a doctor that never saw me and all I had to do was pick up my prescription. I never thought I'd lose him. I'm now physically addicted and dependent on xanax. I have gone a day without and I'd rather be dead. I'm near Charlotte Nc and I need an understanding doctor ASAP. I've seized, been to the ER and attempted suicide bcuz the withdrawals are so inhumanely horrible. Nobody should suffer for months like that and it does last for months if you don't end up dyi...

Here's a link with a comprehensive list of withdrawal symptoms which you can have from Neurotin. The symptoms are from Benzodiazepine (Librium and Valium) withdrawal which is similar to Neurontin. Go down to Withdrawal Symptoms. ## As an observer of someone of someone withdrawing from Gabapentin, all I can say is that I've never seen such behavioral changes in people with Benzo addiction and withdrawal as I have in people taking Gabapentin. This may not be true for people taking a low (100 mg 2x daily) dosage that remains constant over a period of years, but it certainly is for a person who begins on a low dosage which is quickly raised over a period of a year to a rather high (800 mg 3x daily) dosage and then asked to begin titration by a new Pain Management Specialist. The per...

I am on a valium taper for withdrawal of Klonopin which I took for over 20 years. I am one year off of the Klonopin I am down to 5 mg of valium and almost finished with the taper. Although I am better, I still have anxiety, angry outbursts, "brain fog," insomnia.. The dr. had me on Wellbutrin for mood swings. The Wellbutrin seemed to cause my anxiety to be worse and cause my hypomania to return. (I was dx with bipolar II many years ago and that was why I was on Klonopin) . Both my dr. and therapist have suggested I am NOT BIPOLAR. Have a MOOD DISORDER. Until the benzo withdrawal I had several years of stability while bipolar. My question is this: In spite of withdrawal symptoms (which are far less after one year of tapering off of Klonopin), I am basically depressed and the dr. ...

What happens when someone suddenly stops taking Lonazep 0.25 mg? Are there any withdrawal symptoms? ## If you've been on it for a long period of time, then it isn't safe to just stop taking it abruptly as doing so creates the risk of seizures. Lonazep contains the active ingredient Clonazepam, which is a benzodiazepine and since these medications can be habit forming you may also experience withdrawal effects, such as irritability, nervousness, headaches and diarrhea.

Klonopin, or clonazepam is one of the hardest drugs to get off of. I have seen this in hospital settings as a nurse myself and as a patient of this horrible drug. Benzodiazepines should never have been invented. I have been on this med for 3 years now, and cannot handle the withdrawal affects no longer than one month. I wish the doctor would have warned me of how dependent your brain and the central nervous system relies on this med only after even 2 months of taking this. I have been advised by doctors to slowly shave the pill down over a period of a year if needed, and then I have had some doctors tell me that may never be able to get off of this drug ever!! Withdrawal symptoms include for myself a feeling of anxiety and panic constantly, never-ending, shaking, hot and cold, no appeti...

Hi going thru tough benzo withdraw and wanting to know if butal/acetamin/caf codeine will be ok ## Hi Rick, Sorry to hear about the withdrawals. From what I could gather, Fioricet w/ Codeine (Butalbital + Acetaminophen + Caffeine) is marketed for use in relieving tension headaches and pain. Apparently the caffeine is what works to relieve headache pain, while butalbital and acetaminophen work together to help relieve general pain, relax muscles, as well as decrease anxiety. The codeine, I imagine, would just be an added boost to these effects. So depending on what types of symptoms you're experiencing in regards to benzo withdrawal, then it seems to me that this medication may help to alleviate those one's mentioned above in particular. I hope this helps and wish you a quick rec...

My doc wants me to go off clorazepate. I have been on it for 25 years. I was wondering if the side effects of clorazepate withdrawal, is the same as some of the other stronger benzo's? I take 3.75 a day.. Half in the morning and half at night. What would a taper be like and how should I do it? Anyone done it and can tell me what to expect? ## Yes, it can cause the same withdrawal effects, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, fever, chills, dizziness, irritability, and rebound anxiety. As to the taper, only your doctor can tell you how to do so safely, but the modern preferred method is usually to have someone start taking doses further and further apart, while also gradually lowering them. Are you on any other medications? You should not stop abruptly, as that may creat...

Why do you think docs prescribe Suboxone or Methadone for opiate withdrawal, make patients stay on it until they are completely addicted to it for years, then have to treat them to come off it? Why don't they treat a 5 day opiate withdrawal with a benzo to sleep, clonidine, gabapentin, trazodone for a week or two instead. It would sure help society not be addicted to Suboxone. Worst drug ever. ## Most people, even if they are addicted, can't just take a ton of medications to try and sleep through their withdrawals and be out of work for that length of time. Treatment with Suboxone or Methadone enables them to still work and be productive, while undergoing addiction treatment and, unlike Methadone, Suboxone usually enables most people to eventually become completely drug free, al...

I've only been out of pills for a day, and I'm having withdrawals (was trying to tough it out a little longer, big mistake). Until my Rx comes through, any suggestions? I've taken some Xanax just to calm down a bit. *Have been on Hydro for awhile now due to issues with my feets if that matters. And also, I've been wondering if anyone has ever had any luck ordering hydrocodone or oxycodone online? I never tire of hearing a good scam story lol, but has anyone had success (no need to tell company names!)? ## If you are running out early, you should really discuss the problem with your doctor, to see if they can adjust your dosage or dosing interval and prevent such problems. Benzodiazepines are frequently given to help with minor withdrawal symptoms, however, they don't...

I need to cease my intake of Trapex 1 mg. I have been regularly taking 0.5 mg at night as prescribed by my doctor. However, for the past four days, I've reduced it to 0.25 mg based on my doctor's advice. This has resulted in me feeling anxious and also experiencing sleep interruptions. Will these symptoms eventually pass? ## Trapex contains the active ingredient Lorazepam, which is a Benzodiazepine and it is normal to experience such issues, when you lower the dosage, or stop taking it. They will eventually wear off, but it may take a few weeks, before your body adjusts and things are back to normal. How soon will you be stopping it completely? ## I have been on Trpex 1mg for 17 years and I've been experiencing numerous issues. I'm feeling extremely weak, and it has hind...

I've been on oxycodone 15mgs 4 times a day for about 4 months due to a pancreatic pseudocyst and multiple surgeries. My health has dramatically gotten better but I still suffer from scar tissue damage from all the surgeries and E.R.C.P's. I feel that i wont be needing the pain medicine any longer? So my question is what is the best method to stop the oxycodone without the terrible withdrawal? And are Benzodiazepines a good choice? If so, which ones work most effectively and how should i dose them? Plz help, because just the thought of stopping the oxycodone causes major anxiety and panic attacks. Also i no longer have a Dr. who prescribes narcotics or subutex\suboxone.. No doctor will consider giving me any habit forming substance. Please help with any and all suggestions, ty! #...

I drink 7 or 8 beers a day I can't afford to check into rehab I just want some benzos to clear the first couple of days of withdrawals do you know anyplace in salt lake city that will do this? ## I am interested in recovery it's just unpracticle for me to check into rehab right now and I will have family around me during my out of facility detox. ## I am really not sure how easy it would be to find a doctor willing to do so anywhere in the U.S. Benzodiazepines are a controlled substance and can be highly addictive themselves, so their usage must be carefully monitored. Additionally, if you're not an established patient somewhere, this may not be something they want to try to take on. Learn more Benzodiazepine details here. I take Temazepam 1 or 2 times a week. Would I have withdrawal symptoms from this frequency of use and dosage? ## How long have you been taking it? According to FDA reports, this medication does carry the risk of being habit forming and a sudden withdrawal can create the risk of seizures. The typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritable. ## I need to know how to taper off temazepam 15 mg? I have been taking it for more than a year now. ## "how to taper off temazepam 15 mg" Try switching to another benzo and taper from there. I would try Valium or such. ## Withdrawals from benzos are pretty much guaranteed. Anxiety etc. Essentially it's the basic laws of thermodynamics. For every high, upon withdrawal, the opposite low. Hello, I'm starting the prerequisite withdrawal period before my first suboxone appointment. I would desperately like to know if I can take a xanax or maybe a soma during this period to ease symptoms? Thanks so much for your time... ## Due to the nature of your question, this may be something best answered by your doctor who can make a more informed decision based on your medical records, current health, age, weight, whether or not you're taking any other medications, etc. However based on my research, as long as you're not taking the xanax or soma with suboxone at the same time, you should be fine. Reason being is that there are drug interactions between those medications that may result in increased side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. ...
