IS IT SAFE TO TAKE BENEDRYL WHILE ON XARELTO ## Hello, Cindy! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these two medications, but it's always best to double check to be sure. Only your doctor can tell you what is safe for you to try. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Xarelto as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising. what is the dosage for adult 71 yrs old ## Hi sylvia, The usual adult dose of Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) tends to vary slightly depending on what you're using it for. In most common cases though, I found it to be: 25 to 50 mg orally every 4 to 6 hours as needed, & not to exceed 300 mg within a 24 hour time period. Hello just wondering if I can take Benedryl with my zubsolve ? Thank you so much ! ## Hello, Heather! How are you? Both of these medications can increase sedation and depression of the central nervous system, which could cause lowered heart rate, lowered blood pressure, extreme dizziness and shallow breathing. Thus, they shouldn't be combined, unless your doctor says it is safe for you to do so. Zubzolv carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, drowsiness, headache and constipation. Benadryl may cause side effects, such as dizziness, drowsiness and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you so much for the reply ; ) guess I will talk to my Dr. About another solution for better sleep ; ) ## You'r...

Checking if OK to take these together: meloxicam 15 mg, naproxen 500 mg, and benedryl 25 mg ## No, you shouldn't take the Meloxicam and the Naproxen together, both of those are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications, so it's basically doubling up on the same thing and is completely unnecessary. Additionally, they both increase blood thinning and taking them together heightens that effect, they also both increase serum potassium, which is also heightened by taking both and too much potassium building up in your body is very dangerous. The Meloxicam also increases your levels of the Naproxen… You can learn more Meloxicam details here and you can learn more Naproxen details here. I hope that is enough to give you the idea that combining them is a bad idea. :-)...

Can benedryl, Tylenol and acetaminophen be taken in a 24 hour period? ## Can you mix alka seltzer plus night and benadryl? ## Tylenol contains the active ingredient Acetaminophen, so you do have to be careful with it. You should not take more than 1,000mgs of it in any 8 hour period, and you should not exceed 3.000mgs in 24 hours, due the risk of overdose toxicity, according to FDA reports. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, and headache. Samantha, they have several nighttime formulations. Can you please post back with the specific ingredients in the one that you want to take?

I have had chronic hives for 10+ years. I've taken Prednisone, Benedryl, Zantac, Zyrtec & Several other medications to lesson the effects of this awful curse. Finally decided to try Xoliar 4 days ago. At first my hives were SOOOO much worse! Probably the worst they have been in a year. Then all of the sudden I woke up give free! No medications for 2 days. I know it's not a very long trial period but I want to shout from the rooftops!!! Someone who has this would know the overwhelming feeling to just not take these medications for 1 day & Xolair did it for me. You just have no idea how happy I am!! ## Hello, Madison! How are you? I am so glad that you found something that's helping and I hope it continues for you! I've not had chronic hives, but I have gotten them...

My boyfriend has had some severe sinus allergies. He has taken Sudephed PE, Wal-Phed and generic Benedryl, which none have worked. The other day he got Zyrtec Allergy in 10 mg 14 Tablets and has been working but he the only thing he complains about are these headaches. He didn't have them before he took the tablets. I have researched the drug ever since we got the stuff and no side effects of headaches were found in adult but it was found in the childrens side effects. He doesn't understand why he has the headaches. Is it the tablets working? Today, he said that he could smell a lot more and is feeling a little better. I am just concerned why he is having this symptom when clearly he did not have it before taking them. ## Zyrtec contains the active ingredient Cetirizine and if y...

Starting taking 15mg (2x daily) of Xarelto approx 2 weeks ago. Skin itching started EN, no rash. Benedryl does help a little. Then the headahes began. Now, toes, feet, ankles and hands (I look like I have "Miss Piggy's hands in the a.m.) and must remain propped in bed in pillows to get relief. I'm 56, retired law enforcement, non-smoker, very seldom drink but did have total knee replacement surgery 9 months ago. What the hell happened!? I'm retired, divorced and on a fixed income and was told that I was basically a walking time bomb....that he (the hemotologist) was going to have to keep me on anti-coagulants for at least next 9 months, with a repeat CT Scan w/contrast scheduled for 6 months from now to see if the body has absorbed them. In the mean time, he doesn't ...

Will I lose the weighy that I gained while taking doxipin for scalp disease that is horriblely itchy. I also take & benedryl, do they me gain weight as well ## Hello, Brenda! How are you? Yes, you may lose it, if the weight gain was solely due to the use of the Doxepin, the FDA does list it as being a possible side effect. However, if you are using Benadryl regularly, you may also gain weight from it, antihistamines are well known to cause that, as well as dizziness, drowsiness and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

tonsil swollen, liquid bottle ## perhaps this is a form of magic mouthwash made from maalox, lidocaine and dipenhydramine or benedryl. it is used widely for relief of mouth and throat pain ## I believe Laurie is correct. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, and mouth/throat numbness. And just to note for future viewers, Diphenhydramine is the generic for Benadryl, so they are one and the same. Has anyone else used this product?

I took a 10 day dose of Ceftin and then broke out in hives and took 6 days of steroids and benadryl and Pepcid for that. Benedryl was making me unable to function so stopped taking it and began taking homeopathic drops for hives. It has been 23 days since the first dose of Ceftin. How long will this take to get out of my system? ## After 23 days, it is already long out of your system. If you still have hives, then I am suspicious that something other than the Ceftin is causing them and you really need to speak to your doctor.

I was prescribed Cipro for Bronchitis in the hospital. I took only 4 doses 2 pills twice a day! I broke out with severe Hives and was given Benedryl, Predisone, Pepcid and nothing is helping! I am so itchy and uncomfortable and have been to the ER 3 times. What can I do. It's been 3 days since I stopped taking it and I am suffering so bad!! ## Hello, Chrissy! How are you? I am so sorry about the hives, it's happened to me before, so I know how awful that is. What dose of Benadryl have you been taking? You should check with your doctor first to make sure that it's safe for you, but you can usually take up to 50mgs per dose. And soaking in a warm tub with some epsom salts may also help. But otherwise, it's really just going to take time. ## Hi thanks I have a appointment w...

I'm looking for an OTC method to control my angioedema. The swelling effects my eyes and face and ALWAYS lasts three days, no matter how much benedryl I take. Is there any help? ## Hello, Denise! How are you? I am very sorry about the problem that you're having. Albuterol isn't available over the counter. Cetirizine is available over the counter and it is often used to treat it. It's also known by the brand name Zyrtec and may cause side effects, such as drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. What has your doctor recommended you take?

I've had a drug reaction to hydrochlorot. My body has broken out in hives and I'm extremely itchy despite the use of a medicated cream and Benedryl every 4 hours. How long does it take for the drug to leave my system after taking it for 4 weeks? ## This drug has a relatively short half life of anywhere between 5-15 hours after your last dose. Generally, by the time 5 half lives have gone by, the drug is effectively out of your system. Taking the maximum half of the drug (15 hours) and multiplying it by 5 half lives, gives you a total of 75 hours or roughly 3 days max that it will remain in your system (after your last dose). Does this information help? ## If you were on it for that long, it may take a week, or more for the reaction to taper off. Have things improved by now?

I finished 10 days worth of amox-clav 875 and the last day I developed dark urine, a whole body itch, nausea and loss of appetite. This has lasted for 4 days now and is worsening. The pharmacist said to take benedryl, but how dangerous and how common are these side effects? Also, how long will they last? It's very worrisome. This is a dangerous drug! ## Did you also experience diarrhea, while you were taking it? Everything except the body itch, sounds like it could be due to dehydration, which frequently happens when antibiotics cause diarrhea and people don't up their fluid intake to accommodate for the loss. You can read more Augmentin side effects here. The itching could be related to dehydration, as well, but it's more difficult to pinpoint, because it could also be rela...

I also take zolpidem and lisinopril and levothyroxine regularly and was taking benedryl for allergies.... I quit taking the benedry and clonazempam because a nurse friend of my friend said they should not all be taken together. Originally I was also on prozac 20mg. I started most of these when my husband died suddenly a few years ago. The last few days I thought I had the flu really bad because I had terrible joint and muscle aches, then horrendous headaches and a continuous slight nausea. Starting yesterday, I have had repeated panic attacks and I am scared.... I called the clonazepam hotline for help and they really just have volunteers an...
