Bella Phenobar

My GI Dr had recently prescribed me Bella-Phenobarb Tab for some gastric issues i was experiencing. I never had the need to use the meds. I am now experiencing horrible cramping from menstruation. Would this medication be helpful? ## Yes, this is mainly used for gastric problems, such as IBS. IT is very doubtful that it will do much to help with the cramping. It basically works as a sedative and relaxant, though I supposed that may help a little. Have you spoken to your doctor about the cramping?

This stuff is impossible to find yet there are much stronger meds available. This is great for uncomfortable muscle spasms say if you're weaning off opiates - the belladonna at health food stores is not the same obviously. Donnatal is great for that too. Anyway, closest thing I've found is bentyl but it's not as helpful for all over discomfort - just stomach trouble when weaning - cold turkey you'll want clonidine too (aka catpres), something to allow you to sleep (God knows you can't sleep getting off stuff) - the more you sleep, the more time passes - but you can't sleep when you're stomach is A MESS, pains etc. And the all over body crawly antsy - can't explain unless you've been through - it'll make someone crazy! Depression follows and anyone...

I was given this prescription of bella-phenobarb imprinted with west-ward 140. I have been taking Bellaphenobarb for a couple of years for IBS constipation. It does not make me drowsy but seems to energize me. Compared to Valium and another one, they just leave me knocked out. ## It makes sense that the Valium would do that, because it is a Benzodiazepine, which is essentially a downer, that is why it can calm people that have anxiety and cause drowsiness, so it's also sometimes used to treat severe insomnia. Is Bella Phenobarb Tab Good For Nausea and vomiting ## Belladonna Alkaloid + Phenobarbital is usually used to treat grastro-intestinal disorders (such as cramping and spasms of the stomach and intestines). It may also be used as an anticonvulsant and to decrease the amount of acid formed in the stomach, but I haven't found any specific details regarding its use for nausea and vomiting. It is used for stomach ailments, irritable bowel syndrome, duodenal ulcers. All of the ingredients can cause marked drowsiness, one can experience bone pain, blurred vision, agitation or cofusion.

My fiance has been prescribed this drug for a digestive problem. Lately all she does is sleep. She has almost slept for 72 hours straight. When she does get up she has no energy, tires very fast and has to go back to sleep. Could this drug be having adverse effects on her and causing these symptoms? ## Yes, such things are possible with any medication. Has she contacted her doctor? The Phenobarbital in this is a Barbiturate and if it is causing her to sleep that much and that long, then it is probably not the right medication for her to use, or she may require a lower dosage. ## Did you read the paperwork? It should tell you what it does.

Can you take bella phenobarbi with promises ## Hello, DRV! How are you? You can take them together, but it will reduce the efficacy of the Omeprazole, so it isn't a dangerous interaction, but your dosage may need to be adjusted. The Omeprazole may also cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, flatulence and stomach pain. Is there anything else I can help with?

I believe this drug was the old alternative to HRT. I have been taking it for 4 years and it works. However, I have been alarmed by pharmaceutical industry friends pointing out that it contains a narcotic.
