I have pain issues since I had surgery where I ended up with chronic pain. My Dr. Says she thinks it comes from adhesions and scar tissue and does not me to have any more surgery it was reccomeded that I go to a pain clinic which I do. They have given me prescriptions of one oxycodone 5-325 every morning and 50 mg tramadol four times a day as needed. How addictive are these?also if a person does have withdrawal ,what actually happens that you have to deal with?I don't know much about the different pain meds. I was taking zolipin as a sleeping aid and I heard about melatonin instead so I tried that and it really does well. I no longer take the zolipin every night as most nights the melatonin does fine. Thanks ## Hello, Becky! How are you? Both Tramadol and Oxycodone are classified as...

I've had back surgery and have degenerative disc disease that is already "severe" at 36yo. I'm miserable. My Dr just got in trouble so I went from 4 Roxy 20s and 2 opana 5s daily to 3 Roxy 15s daily. I tried subutex with the Roxy (just taking a little piece all throughout the day... Up go 1 8mg tablet) and it works wonders. Now I'm scared to tell this new Dr bc she's not really a pain management Dr. I've been trying to find a Dr in my area who may be able to help me. I live near Beckley, WV. Any suggestions?? Thanks in advance for any help!! ## I don't think they are allowed to write it for pain. I got tired of hurting and went through a program until I told on myself for taking it for pain instead of abusing pain mess.oh boy did I mess up they took 8 mg ...

I need an extended relief med, I have Hep C so do not want any acetaminophen and all this info is coming from the pharmacist I need to find an alternative extended relief pain medication in lieu of morphine or anything with acetaminophen due to my Hep C liver condition; currently applying for disability and all of this is coming from the pharmacist not the actual doctor. ps I live in FL ## Hello, Beckie! How are you? There is a time released formulation of Oxycodone available that's called Oxycontin, which contains no Acetaminophen and there is also a time released pain patch available called Duragesic, which contains only the narcotic Fenantyl, so you may want to discuss these options with your doctor. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and ma...

Made a mistake and swallowed an 8mg suboxone pill (thought it was my woman's vitamin) with my 30mg oxycodone at the same time! OMG, what is going to happen to me!? ## Hello, Becky! How are you? Wow! I am sorry about what happened and I understand your concern. The main issue here, according to the FDA, is the fact that the Suboxone could cause you to go into dangerous precipitated withdrawals, which could include fever, chills, sweating, rebound pain, and seizures. How are you doing? Did you experience any adverse effects? The Suboxone could also prevent your Oxycodone from working for about 3 days. ## Will not effect you in any way,,IV done it a thousand times,,,but it will prevent the OXY, from working well,,hope this helped

My husband had spinal surgery on Monday and has been suffering from debilitating muscle spasms. He took a 10 mg Cyclobenzaprine just over an hour ago but has just received 750 mg Methocarbamol. Is it safe to go ahead and take the new pills now? He is in agonizing pain. Hoping someone can help... ## Hi Becky, Sorry to hear about your husband's debilitating condition. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there are no interactions listed between Cyclobenzaprine and Methocarbamol. While this does not necessarily mean that no interactions exist, it is my personal opinion that they're deemed as safe to take together. Nevertheless, it's always a good idea to double check with the prescribing doctor before administering anything t...

I'm looking for a new pain management Doctor near King of Prussia Pa. I've been a chronic pain patient for about 10 years. Had low back & beck surgery with hardware. I don't want to write a long drawn out story. My question is to Lee C or anyone that can help me. I'm presently taking Oxycodone 30's 6 x's day. My body has become so immune to it that it is only working to relieve my pain for about an hour. I believe that I need a longer acting medication with the Oxycodones. However, I don't seem to get much help from my doctor. Therefore, I'm looking for a new pain management Doctor near the King of Prussia Pa area. Can anyone provide me with some suggestions? Thank you.

i need some suggestions for pain meds w out tylenol . been in percocet 10/325 for a few years . my liver tests wewe high so gotta avoid tylenol. i got tramedol doesnt help. ## Hi, Becky! How are you? There are actually many that don't contain Acetaminophen. Oxycodone is available by itself in quite a few different dosages. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Other options include Morphine, Opana and Dilaudid. Learn more Morphine details here. Learn more Opana details here. Learn more Dilaudid details here. These are all narcotic opiates, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What else has your doctor suggested?

How long would it take to go through a withdrawal from these opioid pain meds such as norcos??? ## Hello, Becky! How are you? It actually depends on how long you were taking it, how much you were taking each day and the way your body reacts to stopping, so there's no hard and fast rule to quote for you. It may take anywhere from a few days to over a month, or so. The FDA lists the withdrawal effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, fever, chills, headache, diarrhea, rebound pain and depression. How long was the person in question taking it and how much were they taking?

need a good doc who prescribes vicodin in indianapolis ## I had a dr but retired been on vicodin for chronic back pain and xanax for aniety ## Hi becky, I may not have a doctor I can refer you to, but I can provide you with a couple links that may be of service to you in so far as finding pain management doctors within your general area. Just input your city or zip code for narrowed results: {link removed because site no longer exists} wellness.com/find/pain%20management%20specialist I'd consider calling up a number of them to see if they are accepting new patients. You may even want to go schedule a visit in person to get a real vibe for the doctor. I hope this info helps and wish you good luck on finding the right doctor!

Will a discount card cover any percentage of this patch? ## Hi Becky - may I ask which patch you are referring to? Is it an over the counter patch such as Salonpas or Bengay - or is it a prescription strength pain patch like Fentanyl? I know that a discount card that this site offers covers most prescription drugs and there is even a lookup tool which tells you what the cost and savings would be for a specific drug. Please tell me what medicine you are referring to and hopefully I can share with you any other details I might have. Hope this helps!

What is val syrup I have medication for my dog this is tramadol/Val syrup. I do know what tramadol is but do not know what Val syrup is or what it contains ## Hello, Beck! How are you and your pup? From what I've found, it is a B vitamin complex that is combined with the pain medication, because they support nerve health and function. The side effects in a dog, are similar to those that the FDA lists for humans and may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## So is val syrup used by humans? Or is it purely for veterinary use? ## It is used in veterinary medicine; it’s the carrier aka the liquid used to mix with medication to make a liquid medication.

i am currently unable to fill my Dilaudid 2mg due to no pharmacies carrying it. My dr has tried everything and feels that Dilaudid would be my best bet for pain control. I have a mass in my stomach and in severe pain. Due to not being able to find the Dilaudid I have to go to the ER every other day for pain injections and hydration. Any advice? ## Beck have you tried a compounding pharmacy? You may also try to get the social worker at the hospital to help you with resources. Can you fill your rx at the hospital where you are being treated? ## Hi Beck, I understand that none of the pharmacies you've checked carry it in their stores, but have you also considered mail-order options through Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, and others? It may take longer to arrive, but at least there would be a...

Hello. I have a standing prescription for percocet through my doctor. I go through the normal pain visits, etc. I will be having neck surgery soon and I am wondering: will they prescribe more for my recovery period on top of what I have? I understand you have to take more than normal at times due to pain after surgery and I am worried I will run out of my "normal" script that I can only get filled at certain times. In the nutshell, is it the norm to prescribe meds after surgery that you already have because of the increased amount/times you may need to take? ## Hi Becky, Q: "I will be having neck surgery soon and I am wondering: will they prescribe more for my recovery period on top of what I have?"
