I have been on Barr/Teva dexedrine sulfate, [generic] for 14 years. After 5 "shortages" I recently received back my script, butt it's a placebo !!!! Nothing at all. I took 25 10 miligram tabs; nothing at all. It's an unethical and disgusting scam. Am writing every politician, fda, Quality control, anyone who can address the monster of a crime. ## I feel the same way. The Dex 10's that were given to me had to be abused to have any effect. I've never heard of or taken Winder Labs brand and my CVS has them in stock. This is always concerning as ONLY Teva/Barr and Mallinckrodt have been effective in my experience. Aurobindo made me nauseated. Any experience to share? ## Any updates? I was dxed with adult ADD 8 yrs ago--and precribed mallinckrodt 5 mg tablets IR--My daughter also has it and unluckily ended up with Bar-now Teva's dexedrine--2 yrs ago--I could not longer get Mallinckodt IR tablets and was put on Barr--hated them--now that teva has taken over--Im having a terrible time. My son and I have ADD. My health insurance will pay for my sons monthly perscription, but because I'm an adult, I have to pay FULL PRICE for my monthly perscrition, which gets very pricey. Why is this? ## I'm sorry, but I cannot answer that. I do not know who your insurance provider is and what medications are covered will vary from company to company and can also depend on the specifics of your coverage policy. There are some that will only cover medications that are considered life-sustaining. I was taking Barr Dextroamphetamine Sulfate for 12 years. This medication was a miracle drug for me as it lowered my blood pressure, increased my focus, attention, and breathing. About three years ago, my medication "disappeared" without warning or notice. No one would tell me the truth until I found my drug at a pharmacy two hours away. After receiving the medication twice, the pharmacist said he could no longer get it for me because my $50 generic shot up to $500 overnight. I have been taking Dexedrine (Dextroamphetamine Sulfate XR) for 3 years now and it has always looked the same: clear and dark brown manufactured by BARR, imprinted with the same and the numbers 956. Two months ago the medication I received was blue. I was stupid and didn't think twice about it only to be called by the pharmacy and told I had been given Adderall by mistake at the end of the month. The following month my medication was back to the usual clear and brown. This month I have been given blue pills again. They gave them to me in a bottle that says "Dextroamphetamine Sulf ER 15MG" as it should, they scratched out "BARR" and wrote "Global" on the manufacturer part. I am currently without insurance and I had to pay $275 (cheapest I could find) for my GENERIC Adderall XR 20mg/60 count. I have read that Teva was the only one to produce the generic version for 180 days from the launch date, which was 4/2/09. My math indicates their 180 days will be up in two days (9/30/09) but I can't find out if any other companies are going to be producing the generic which should drive the price down significantly. I was told by several Pharmacies that Dexedrine & the generic is NOT available, (on manufacturer back order, etc.), Does anyone have/not have the same problem? Please advise ## There have been a couple of other posts about this problem recently. Unfortunately, the only thing that anyone can really suggest as a solution would be for you to contact your doctor and see if there is an alternative medication you can use in the meantime.
