I have just started I took one and Im thinking 3 times a day every 8 hours will this help? ## Gregory, Bactrim is not the most effective antibiotic for dental infections. Most hospitals offer a dental clinic based on ability to pay or charity care. I understand the challenges of being financially strapped but even taken as prescribed this class drug may not completely focus on the complex infections encountered in dental sensitive organisms. Pill imprint H 49 has been identified as Sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim 800 mg / 160 mg, is this the same as the pill IP 272? I ask because I have been using the IP 272 pill for 7 years, and my pharmacy just filled it with the H 49 version. Same strength? same drug? Please advise ## Yes, they both contain the same medications in the same dosages. It is completely normal for your pharmacy to switch which manufacturers product they have on hand, depending on who was offering the cheapest price, at the time they needed to restock their supply. Are there any other questions or comments?

IM TAKING THE PILL IP 272 PLUS A BACTRIM DS 160 TO 800 MGS BOTH TOGETHER I GET SO SICK AND CANT BREATHE ,TIGHT IN CHEST ,BOTH MAKE ME SO OUT OF MY HEAD ,WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN.and i take other meds too all together is bad . see my cat i have indoors bite me a week or so a go and its not healing so my dr gave me both of these ,HELP ## These are the same medications, they both contain Sulfamethoxazole with Trimethoprim in the same dosages. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Are you sure your doctor told you to take them both? What other medications are you taking? How severe was the bite?

What does this medication look like? ## Well, since it is a generic for Bactrim, there are many on the market and they will all have different markings, depending on the dosage and manfacturer. Some markings include: IP 272 5898 V MP 85 93 089 IP 271 MP 81 E 112 SZ 286 DAN DAN 5547 33 BIOCRAFT And this is in no way a comprehensive list. Do any of these match the pill you are asking about? If not, please post back with the imprint from your tablet and I will gladly look it up for you.
