I have found all of the elements in this topical cream (dicl bacl gaba lido doxe) EXCEPT for "DOXE". Can someone explain the abbreviation of this component and any side-effects? ## Hi twotrees, There are a couple medications that come to mind when I see the abbreviation "Doxe": [1] Doxycycline - An antibiotic, topically used to treat moderate to severe inflammatory acne, or mild inflammatory acne. [2] Doxepin - When applied topically, it can reduce itching caused by atopic dermatitis, lichen simplex chronicus, and other skin diseases. I'm personally leaning towards "Doxepin" due to how close the abbreviation is to the actual drug name and it's topical use-case. If it is Doxepin, you can view a list of possible side effects in the link below: ncbi.nlm.nih....

I HAVE NEUROPATHY. I HAVE SEVER BURNING IN MT FEET AND SOMETIMES HANDS, I HAVE THE TINGLING ALSO IN BOTH. MY DOCTOR HAS ME ON GABA 600MGS 3 TIMES A DAY BUT IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE HLPING WITH THE BURNING. COULD YOU PLEASR TELL ME IF THIS WOULD WORK. ## Hello, Terri! How are you? I am very sorry about the problem that you're having. Has your doctor prescribed this? It is just various medications compounded into a cream to be used topically, but most of them have not ever been proven to be effective topically. And since you are already taking oral Gabapentin, you would need to check with your doctor before using this, since it also contains it. How long have you been taking it? It is not an actual analgesic, so it will take 4 to 6 weeks to reach its full level of efficacy in your bo...

I have not opened it yet, but it was expired. It was prescribed on 11/27/13. Can I still use it? Is this safe? ## It does not become dangerous once expired, according to NIH studies, but it can lose efficacy, so it may not work as well as it did, when fresh and new. It would be best to see your doctor for a new prescription, if you need to use it. The FDA warns that its typical side effects may cause skin redness, rash, irritation, and flaking. Are you on any other medications?

Hi. I have had my C6 and C7 replaced in my neck and I am under pain management and I wanted to know about this medicine called "849 gab bac cyc ib lid cr". I am currently using a cream prescribed by my foot doctor, Ketamine10% Flurbiprofen10% Baclofen4% Verapamil7% Tetracaine2%. I had to have the lab adjust the formular with my doctors approval, to it current percentage as the original formular was useless. It works a bit better, but I feel it could use some more tweeking. Any suggestions? Also I recently injured my knee and have been using it on that as well. I've read the comments above and plan to discuss some of these options when I see the knee guy in a couple of weeks :( Thank you ## Hello, Jeff! How are you? As a topical cream, this really isn't going to alleviate intense pain. There's only so much it will do, since you don't really absorb much of the medications, at all. And no, I've no suggestions for tweaking,...

My doctor prescribed a cream for my back. What is in it and what does each ingredient do? Dic 3% Bac 2% Cyc 2% Gab 10% Bup 5% Pen 5% ## Hello, 4dabirds! How are you? Diclo stand for 3% Diclofenac, it is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory used to relieve pain and swelling. Bac is 2% Baclofen, which is a muscle relaxant. Cyc is 2% Cyclobenzaprine, which is another muscle relaxant. Gab stands for 10% Gabapentin, which is an anticonvulsant that's also used to treat certain types of nerve pain. Pen is 5% Penicillin, which is an antibiotic used to treat or prevent topical infections in such a mixture. I am not completely sure on the Bup, but it might be 5% Buprenorphine, which is a narcotic analgesic. The most common side effects are skin reddening and application site irritation. Is there ...

Can this topical cream affect your sleeping cycle??? Can it make you sleep a heavy sleep? ## Hello, JoAnn! How are you? No, it shouldn't. The medications may cause drowsiness as side effects, but you only absorb a little of them, when using them topically, so it shouldn't cause a deep, heavy sleep. For that to happen, someone would basically have to almost bathe in it. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks so much. Can it be addictive? ## Hello, I just received a topical Cream Keta/Cyclo/GABA/Lido (10%/2%/6%/3.5%). I was told to put it in all places where I am experiencing pain and on the bottle it says: Apply 3 times daily for pain and/or muscle spasms as needed. *** PLEASE HELP ANYONE!!! *** I suffer from extreme nerve pain in my back. My Dr. proscripted the above for shoulder pain, can yoou tell me what in it and any side effacts they may have ## Hello, Willmay! How are you? Since this is topical, it doesn't usually cause a lot of side effects, because you absorb very little of the medications, but you may experience some skin irritation at the application site. Ketorolac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that has also been shown to help with pain, both Baclofen and Cyclobenzaprine are muscle relaxants and Lidocaine is a topical anesthetic. Can anyone tell me the prescription trade name for a cream containing baclofen 20 mg, ketoprofen 150(?), and lidocaine 50 mg? ## From my own investigation, pain creams that contain these types of ingredients are formulated in compound pharmacies and therefore do not have a trade name like many other topical prescriptions. These are just generic topical formulas that can vary in ingredients with anything from what's listed below, to other combinations that I have not included here: -Baclofen, Ketoprofen, Lidocaine -Baclofen Gabapentin, Ketoprofen, Lidocaine -Baclofen, Cyclobenzaprine, Ketoprofen, Lidocaine -Baclofen Gabapentin, Ketoprofen, Lidocaine, Dicyclomine -Ketoprofen, Gabapentin, Lidocaine, Amitriptyline Hope this helps! ## My compounding pharmacy calls it Baclo-Keto-Lido 2/10...

I just got a prescription for a "new" pain relieving cream from my Pain Management Center. cream with baclofen 2% bupivacine 1% cyclobenzaprine 2% diclofenac 5%. It does not have a "Name" - What is it? are there side effects with topical use? ## This is something specially ordered by your doctor that needs to be made by a compounding pharmacy, so there is no name for it. Your doctor chooses the ingredients for the cream according to what they think will help you. Both Baclofen and Cyclobenzaprine are muscle relaxants, the Bupivicaine is a local anesthetic and Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. And side effects should be minimal for topical use and may include skin irritation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I just got topical medication for achill...

is keprocaine cream good for knee pain and inflamation ## Please correct me if I'm wrong, but from what little bit of information I could gather, Keprocaine cream is a topical pain cream with the following active ingredients: Ketoprofen - nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug Baclofen - used to treat muscle spasms and tightness Cyclobenzaprine - skeletal muscle relaxant Lidocaine - local anesthetic With that said, I do believe it could be beneficial for knee pain and inflammation. Additionally, I would also highly recommend looking into "hyaluronic acid injections" for knee pain, as I've heard some great things about its effectiveness. I hope this helps!
