Hi doc, my baby she is 1 month old she has a dry cough, i took her to a clinic they only gave her parcetamol, not anti biotics or powder for suspension, should i buy it ## Hi Nokuzola, Based on my research, newborns 2 months or older can safely be given Paracetamol (also know as Acetaminophen) as long as the dose is correctly measured based on the newborn's body weight. If your doctor said it was ok to give your 1 month old Paracetamol/Acetaminophen, just be sure to confirm that the dosage is right so no problems occur. Pinex cough syrup you had to mix it at home. ## From what I can find, it is no longer being manufactured. There are many posts online with people looking for it, but no stores seem to carry it anymore and the manufacturer does not list it. Very sorry, I wish I could help more. ## I too would like to find pinex cough syrup. My husband has always had a dry cough and his mother would mix a batch for him. in pregnancy ## I cannot find a lot of information on this, except that some formulations contain Codeine as an active ingredient. Most narcotics do cross the placenta and can affect the baby, which is why some are born addicted when the mother is using or abusing such medications. Thus, it is not advisable to use them while pregnant, unless your doctor has instructed you to do so. Have you spoken to them about it? ## BRothers who are addicted are advised to remember a thing always that try to decrease doses but dont think u will quit it.By doing so u will increase dose much.when u think u are are doing very bad thing and u must quit it first then this thought will produce bad effect on u much more than side effect of syrp itself..Dont decide u will do ur imp works only after u will giv...

My 2 1/2 old kid (pre-kg) suffers from cold for d past week doc prescribed relent+, she was better after 4 days n now she used to get cough at nyt. First was dry cough n next nyt was mucous associated cough disturbed her sleep vry much twice. She had been crying d whole nyt. Water cuddled make her sleep better? Cough syrup or vicks vapourub or steam? can wikoryl syrup be given to children (abt.4 yrs old) during cold. ## What is the dose of Wikoryl Syrup (Alembic ltd) for the child age 5 yr? e.g. 7.5 ml three times in a day ## Wikoryl contains: Paracetamol (125mg) + Phenylephrine hcl (5mg) + Chlorpheniramine maleate (1mg) per 5ml teaspoon. It is used to treat the symptoms of a cold and allergies. Did your doctor not provide you with any dosing instructions? From the amounts in each teaspoon, it sounds like that would be a dose, one 5ml teaspoon for a child of that age. It is usually given every 6 to 8 hours, as needed, but not to exceed 4 doses a day. After doing some additional research, I found that Dextromethorphan is the name of the active ingredient. However, the Buckley brand itself seems to only be available in Canada. One teaspoon of Terpin Hydrate immediately stopped the cough and sometimes the cough did not return. Terpin Hydrate, cheap over the counter...no RX. My baby is 2yrs old and 2 months. He was having runny nose, sneezing, and sometimes coughing. I gave him bioflu 2.5ml every 6hrs. After 1 day he is ok and no more runny nose, but the problem is he is still coughing... Can i give him ambroxol syrup? When should i stop giving him bioflu syrup? i've been givng my 16months old baby with ambroxol syrup for 1 week yet he didnt get cured from his cough. this is due to my nanny is having coughs and colds also. can i still continue giving him abroxol even after a week of intake already? right now, his nanny is also under treatment.
