Azithromycin For Tooth Infection

Will Azithromicina 500 mg work for impacted tooth as well? ## Hi Johnny, From what I could gather, Azithromycin is commonly prescribed for dental related infections. However if the tooth needs to be extracted (perhaps via root canal) due to decay or nerve damage, my understanding is that an antibiotic will only help for so long until you get the necessary procedure(s) done. And to help address your other question about an impacted tooth, Azithromycin fights infections throughout your body and not just one specific area, so it really should cover all basis where an infection is present and not just a single tooth. Have you already gone to the dentist for an evaluation?

I was started on Azithromycin by my Dr. in case I had strep throat but come to find out I have a real bad wisdom tooth infection, which is very painful..The script of Azithromycin is for 5days will this work for my infection in my tooth? ## Hello, Crystal! How are you? It may help, but 5 days may not be enough to completely eradicate the infection and it will not correct the underlying cause of the dental infection, so you'll still need to see your dentist, or the infection will keep returning. Is there anything else I can help with?

The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. When will you see your dentist, again? It sounds like you have some underlying issue that could be causing the infection, such as a deep cavity. I have to agree with you about having it pulled, sometimes that is the only option. I ...

Thinking I have an abscessed tooth. I have samitrogen on hand purchased in Mexico. Sell by date is Sep 2014. Are these still safe to take? ## Hello Sam! How are you? Unfortunately, I am not sure. Mexico does not regulate their medications like the U.S., so I don't know if that is an expiration date, or if it is still effective for awhile after that. It would be best to see your dentist, so he can prescribe an antibiotic for you, if one is required. Additionally, even after taking an antibiotic, you'll need to have the underlying cause of the infection treated, or it will keep returning. The FDA lists the typical side effects to antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and dehydration. Does anyone know how the expirations work in Mexic...

I have a sinus infection and I was taking Amoxicillin to relieve my symptoms but so far it has not gotten better but worse. I was then prescribed Azithromycin 250 by my Dr. Is it safe to switch medication? ## Yes, as long as your doctor has instructed you to do so, it is best to follow their directions. The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. is there anything else I can help with? ## I was taking Amoxicillin for a sinus infection and strep throat. The problem is it's not working, so I was given Azithromycin. I took my last dose of Amoxicillin this morning at about 10am, almost 12 hours ago. i have a painful tooth..my jaw is swollen and i have a white pustular bump that oozes when i press on my gum ## Hello, Marie! How are you feeling? Craztronin contains the active ingredient Azithromycin, which is an antibiotic and yes, it can be used to treat a dental infection. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Learn more Craztronin details here. However, it should only be used if it has been prescribed by your dentist or doctor, since you do need to make sure that you have enough to complete a full course of treatment to properly eradicate the infectious bacteria. Additionally, it will not correct whatever underlying problem caused the infection, so you also still need to see your dentist for follow up care, otherwise the infection wil...

There are 6 tablets in the bottle. How many do you take? There no instructions. ## Hi Jet, From what I could gather, "Azitromicina" or "Azithromycin" is the active ingredient in this drug. The dosage information I found for Azithromycin states that (500 mg) should be taken orally on the first day followed by (250 mg) orally once a day on days 2 through 5 (which adds up to 6 pills in total). Please post back if you have any more questions, I hope this helps! ## Thank you for this information, I needed it as well. ## Can I use Zertalin for a tooth infection? My tooth is killing me and nothing else seems to be helping.
