Aurobindo - SHUT THEY DOWN! When a manufacturer changes we should be notified. After all, it is our money going to these companies. I opened my Metformin and noticed the shape and the SMELL was unbelievable - FISH SMELL. I will only accept meds from TEVA. How do they get away with this? I called the pharmacy and they were not very concerned. I'm going to inform everyone I know (family, friends, church members, EVERYONE) about this manufacturer. ## Hello, Connie! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're so upset. However, Metformin always has an odd smell, the difference is that some companies use an outer coating to keep you from smelling it, but I can assure you that it is completely normal, which is why your pharmacy wasn't concerned. The FDA lists the typical side effe...

I need valsartan 320/hct and metformin that are gluten free. Just cannot seem to find a manufacturer that is not gluten free. Pleae help! ## Hello, Nancy! How are you? According to a website I found that lists gluten free medications, the Metformin manufactured by Teva is gluten free. However, I am not finding anything listed for the Valsartan/HCTZ, so you may need to ask your doctor about prescribing an alternative. The FDA lists the typical side effects for Metformin as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and hypoglycemia. The typical side effects for Valsartan/HCTZ may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and dehydration. Do you have celiac disease?

what is this drug used for? ## Hi Pam, I ran a google search and from what I can gather, Aurobindo is actually the name of a pharmaceutical company based in India. Do you have a pill with an "Aurobindo" imprint on it? If so, if you could provide me with me some more detail about the pill, such as: color, shape, markings, etc... I can definitely do my best to identify it for you. Thanks! ## Hello , need to know what else is used for ? Pioglitazone metformin 15- 500 . Aurobindo Pharm . Just got my Metformin 850 mg refilled and received Aurobindo Pharmacy round white pill with an A on one side and 13 on the other side. I take them in the evening at bedtime and in the morning my glucose is almost as high as it was in the evening! That is not normal for me as my reading in the morning should be way lower! ## Hello, Arnie! How are you doing? My first question is why are you taking it at night? This medication usually needs to be taken during the day, just before a meal, that way it is in your body to work to lower your blood sugar after eating throughout the day. If you're taking it at night, when you aren't eating anything and waking up with a high sugar level, it's most likely that your sugar is dropping too low, while you are sleeping, so your body is stati...

Glucophage seems to be less likely to give me diarrhea and nausea. Are there any generic brands which have less side effects than Aurobindo Metformin? I lost a lot of weight on the generic to my chagrin because I was down to 83 lbs. ## Hello, Peanut! How are you? They all carry the risk of causing the same side effects, it is just a matter of finding one that works for you, without making you completely miserable, so it is basically trial and error. The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly including dizziness, stomach pain, and flatulence. Which other ones have you tried?

I've been on Metformin for several years and done well. Recently I refilled the script and the pharmacy had changed suppliers to aurobindo. The pills smelled like rotting fish but I managed to take it. My blood sugar was running higher on this med. the next refill smelled and tasted so strong I could hardly take the pills. I developed horrible nausea and severe diarrhea and lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks. Since my pharmacy refused to order the drug from a different manufacturer I changed to Walgreens who did not use aurobindo and immediately the symptoms were gone. I question the quality control of that manufacturer and worry about using drugs from many foreign countries. I am willing to pay more to feel that the drugs are safe!!! ## Hello, Maggie! How are you? Sorry about the problem that ...

Is a round white pill with a "D" and a "12" indicate a 500 mg Metformin? ## Hello, Douglas! How are you? I believe the marking you're looking at is actually an A 12, the A is rounded and does look like a D if you hold the pill sideways. And yes, it is manufactured by Aurobindo Pharma and they list it as containing 500mgs of Metformin. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, flatulence, stomach pain and hypoglycemia. my pill has an A on the front an 1/8 on the back what is it. ## I didn't find an exact match to your pill, but one that is very similar and could possibly be manufactured by the same company. This round white pill I located has the imprint A 1/4 instead of A 1/8. It's identified as Metformin hydrochloride (1000 mg), and is manufactured by Aurobindo Pharma. I would consider contacting them at the link below to see if they make the pill you are describing: Alternatively, if you're able to, I would consider taking the pill over to your local pharmacy and having it analyzed by their team to see if they can come up with anything. I hope this helps!

I have yellow oblong pill with 48 on one side and either D or A on the other side. If its an A then the A is rounded and the peak of the A. ## I have a yellow oblong pill with a "48" on one side and an uppercase "A" -OR- an uppercase "D" on the other. Since we're unlikely to have two scenarios please try all likely combinations. ## The imprint of "D 48" doesn't bring back any results that relate to your description. Based on the description provided of "A 48", I found your yellow oblong pill to be Glyburide + Metformin (5 mg - 500 mg). This pill is manufactured by Aurobindo Pharma. Glyburide + Metformin is used in the treatment of type II diabetes. For more information about this drug, please refer to the link below... If you have any more...
