Enough to warrant a recall back in 2010: "From August 2010 through December 2010, Pfizer recalled specific bottles of LIPITOR (atorvastatin calcium) tablets (40 mg only) due to a small number of reports of an uncharacteristic odor related to the bottles in which LIPITOR is packaged. What is the difference in the action of Atorvastatin against simvastatin? ## I am taking a new blood pressure pill called "Amlodipine Besylate". On the dosage instructions, it says extra care may be needed in taking this with simvastatin....Is the same caution for Atorvastatin ?JCZCP ## The reaction is unique to just the Simvastatin if taken with the Amlodipine, it can increase the levels of it that are absorbed in your body, which could result in more severe side effects, or a potential overdose. I am using atolip80 for 3months now due to high cholesterollevel of 12.8. Now my neck is swollen and my tongue. Little feve and chest pain. Can the atolip be the problem. I was diagnosed with high Cholesterol and put on Aspavor. I believe that it is causing side effects such as high uric acid, fatigue and joint pains. I decided to stop taking the medication and try nutrition and healthy food in stead however I was told this could be dangerous and stopping Aspavor may cause heart attack.
