Prescribed to me for Cholestrol and was effective too. What alternative (vegetable/fruits) can I use (I am pure vegetarian) so that I do not have to take it and I can effectively control Triglyseride and LDL mainly. ## I have been prescribed Atorlip-F and Pantocid DSR for Cholestrol control. I have taking this medicene on doctor's advice since last two years.But recently it was revealed that i have stones in my Gall bladder and Kidneys.Can Atorva is the cause. When cholestorol, hdl & ldl levels became normal, he prescribed for 3 moths; again now after lipid test which is normal he has prescribed the same dose for 3 more months. Is it needed? According to today's NY Times, Lipitor generic by manufacturer Ranbaxy was recalled in November because of possible glass particles. Recall applied only to pharmacies, and consumers who already had the contaminated pills were advised to continue taking them unless a doctor advised against it. Who was supposed to advise the consumer/patient? How was your doctor to know of the contaminated pills? I am on my last 90 day supply of Atorvastatin manufacturer Ranbaxy.
