If I have been taking Ativan 2mg 4 times per day for 8 years and it is obviously lost it's affectiveness, would changing to Xanax 2mg 4 times a day be the next step? Valium does not help at all. If someone could help me by answering, id be so grateful. ty ## Just because it may be a particular color doesn't mean it's Ativan/Lorazepam, so it still wouldn't likely be safe to try using it, because there are many other things that it could be. Can someone go immediately from 2mg of Ativan four times a day to Klonopin 3 times a day without horrible withdrawal? ## What is the dosage of Klonopin that has been prescribed? My doctor had upped my meds from 1mg of Ativan to suppose to be 5mg it is round yellow pill I think there might of been a mistake. Thank you ## Yes, I do believe some mistake has occured. Ativan, which contains the active ingredient Lorazepam is not available in a 5mg dosage. The tablets are only available in 0.5mgs, 1mg and 2mgs. There is a round, off-white tablet in the 0.5mg dosage, that has an M on one side and the numbers 321 on the other. A 2mg tablet that is slightly off-white with an R over 774 on one side. Another off-white 2mg has the marking of MP over 96. Do any of these match the markings on the tablet you have? If not, please post back with the markings and I can look it up for you, so see what it contains.

I had a doctor tell me once that Ativan is a short term med. No longer than 2 or 3 wks. Long use of the medicine can cause dementia/short term memory loss. At the time I was telling him that I had been on the Ativan, he asked the dosage, etc. I told him that I started it in 1994 and had been on and off of it to the present time which was 2004. That was ten yrs for the most part (I would stop taking them from time to time but never for very long}. By 2004 he had me taking 2mg tabs 4x daily. I felt like it was working well for me. I am bi-polar and it would keep me at a good level. Very seldom any severe ups and downs. He about passed out when I told him how much I was taking. He said I should be comatose with that dosage. Then he told me the damage could be dementia. Is this true??? ## T...

Does anyone know if this is a generic Ativan. I'm not sure about taking it because it only has a score, no words or numbers. Round and peach colored. Any info would be great! ## You are smart to be in doubt. If there are no markings, then it is not a legal U.S. Ativan tablet. All manufacutred U.S. prescription tablets must have a marking to enable their identification. The only tablets you'd find here legally that have no markings would be over the counter products. There is also a chance that it could be a foreign medication of some type. Where was it found/obtained? ## might be from India?

I was in the ER for a panic attack and they IV'ed me with 2mg of Ativan. That was on Saturday morning and it is now Monday. I still feel like I want to crawl out of my skin and I'm irritable. I have chronic back pain and have taken norco10 and 2mg ativan 4 x' s daily. I have new dr. Told me to cut ativan in half each mo from 8mg to 2. Now taking 1 mg ativan and 50 mg amityptoline before bed after severe aniety, panic, ecscuciating muscle stiffness and pain and headache, nausia. I have been taking pain and benzo' s for years. I have in bed for 3 days now. I also have torn ligaments in ankle and skipped pt today feeling too badly. If I stay on 1mg for 2 wks then go to half for 2 wks then zero but continue with amitryptoline to help pain, anxiety, insomnia and depression. I didn' t think I was depressed but doc tried ssri each mo for 4 mo but I had bad side effects. I did not know about paws until yesterday. Do you think I am doing this right? Like oxazepam it does not require hepatic oxidation, but only hepatic glucuronidation into lorazepam-glucuronide. Help is this real or fake? I do not trust the shipper? ## There are such things as 1mg Ativan. I was given a script after a recent trip to the hospital 1mg (Ativan or Loreazapine). Small and white and thinner then the 2mgs I do not remember the exact markings though. ## Are there any markings on the tablet in question? Can you please post back and clarify?
