I would like to know if one can take Trepiline and Aterax in combination ? ## Trepiline contains the active ingredient Amitriptyline, it is a tricyclic antidepressant. Atarax contains the active ingredient Hydroxyzine, it is an antihistamine, used to treat allergic reactions and for its sedating/calming effects. They can be used together, but you should know that using both at the same time can cause additive effects, so you should know to watch for certain signs of possible problems, such as: blurred vision, fever, disorientation and hyperactivity. Were they both prescribed by the same doctor?

I have been on Lexamil 20mg for about 2 months now (started at 5mg and increased slowly) and unless I take it with Aterax at night then I battle to fall asleep. I also find that I have vivid dreams that leave me exhausted in the morning. Lexamil has made me feel better except for this. Should these side effects stop if I take the Lexamil in the morning? ## Have you discussed it with your doctor? Lexamil contains the active ingredient Escitalopram and some doctors do direct it to be taken at night, since it can cause drowsiness as a side effect, but some people do much better taking it in the morning. When is the last time the dosage was increased? That may also have something to do with the side effects, as it can take several weeks for them to start to taper off and it's natural to...

I have been taking hydroxyzine pamoate, just got my next refill and it says atarax ,hydroxyzine hcl.....did I get the wrong med ## Hello, Cat! How are you? No, Aterax is actually the name brand for Hydroxyzine, as opposed to the generic being just called Hydroxyzine Pamoate. The FDA classifies this medication as being an antihistamine that is commonly used to treat allergic reactions and for its sedative like effects. Its typical side effects may possibly include drowsiness, dry mouth and somnolence. Is there anything else I can help with?

hi there, past 2 months i have been getting rashes all over body, not stress related, but figured out that its certain foods i eat such as tomatoes, vinegar, butter/margarine, fish, nuts, visisted dermatologist and he prescribed texa, took texa for one month, all it does is supposedly suppresses it(antihistamine), honestly this did not work, i am now on aterax for two weeks, will take it for a further 2 weeks, this also most probably wil supress it buit not cure it, rashes are like round coin sizes , certain foods give rashes on different parts of body, but predominantly arms, and neckline, occassionaly face , but body dispersed with it, only occurs when i wake up so it means its from the food i eat previous night, is there a cure for this?or what has caused this, no issues for past 30od...
