For some reason I can only take the 25mg Atenonol from Sandoz, I take it to diminish heart palpitations from MVP, the pharmacy changed the manufacturer to Ateva one time And I began to have palpitations again. So now that Sandoz is on backorder and I cannot get it filled I am going to try Zydus. Can anyone in the pharmaceutical field tell me if it’s the same as Sandoz? Thank you ## Hi Worry17, The only difference between Zydus, Sandoz and other manufacturers is within the list of inactive ingredients, also known as binders/fillers that help make up the pill's composition. In many cases, the quality and quantity of these "so-called inert" substances are subject to an unknown level of scrutiny by the FDA. We don't know how much oversight is involved to monitor where ...

Atenolol 25mg marked Z & 65 is no longer supplied by CVS. Label say Mfr.: M'Ckrodt Spec not available @ Walgreen nor Rite Aid. What drug store selling this now? ## i just pick up my fist persciption atenolol 25 mg from cvs with z-65 on it. are these pill still good. ## If you just picked them up fresh, then they are fine. They just might still have had a stock left, and haven't had to open the new supply, yet. As to who else may be carrying it, unfortunately, there is no way to know, the only thing you can do is check with your local pharmacies. Losartan is used to treat high blood pressure, and some cardiac conditions. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. I have only taken 5 or 6 of the atenolol but my bp and my heart rate is fluctuating way too much. It has dropped my heart rate to 51 this morning so I'm not taking this anymore. I'm going to start taking a supplement called "under pressure". I have no other health problems except a sinus problem. I had always taken supplements for my bp which worked fine until I went to a dr for my sinuses and the dr., gave me two nasal sprays. One of them was named msg which is a steroid that caused my bp to get out of control. The doctor put me on amlodipine-benazepril, which gave me tinnitus, then he gave me lisinopril which swelled my tongue. Can you give me any advice about the "under pressure" supplement which I was told can eliminate high blood pressure after about 6 to 8 ...

Can a 25mg Atenolol tablet be scored? ## Are you asking if it's safe to cut in half? If so, then yes, as long as your doctor or pharmacist haven't instructed you otherwise and it isn't a time released tablet. My sensitivity to medications often makes me cut tablets, that aren't scored for cutting, so I can take a lower dose. My doctor just approves it first. ## Can you take 6mg of Atenolol to prevent or block an adrenal rush? The adrenaline causes me to awaken between 2-4 a.m. ## My mother is prescribed one 100 mg tablet of atenolol a day. The pharmacy gave her two 50 mg tablets per day and on the bottle it said it was the same, but her blood pressure is out of control. Is it the dosage change? I just received my atenolol 25 mg. from a mail order pharmacy. It looks noticeably larger than the ones I have been getting from retail pharmacies for the past 6 years. The bigger one is marked Z65 and the other ones were marked either TEVA 787 or RE 19. Are they the same dosage? Why are they different sizes? ## Yes, all of the tablets you've mentioned contain 25mgs of Atenolol, they're all just manufactured by different companies, which is normal for a generic medication. And there is nothing that dictates the size a pill should be, that depends on the manufacturing process and the inactive ingredients they decide to use. Learn more Atenolol details here. GGL7==BLANK 93===787 Z==99= 3 pills description of both sides=these are supposed to be Atenolol, why different #s on these, are they all the same=the z/99 pill is a little bigger ## Yes, they are all 25mgs of Atenolol. The reason for the different numbers is because the US FDA requires all prescription medications to have unique imprints in order to identify the active ingredient, dosage and manufacturer, so if they are made by different companies, then the imprint will be different. Atenolol is a generic for Tenormin, it is used to treat various cardio-vascular diseases, including hypertension. Common side effects may include: nausea, headache, dizziness and hair loss. Which is better for Atenolol? Teva or Zydus? Which works better? Which has less side effects? Teva is a smaller pill than Zydus. ## Hello Grammy, Both brands should have the same side effects because Atenolol is the active ingredient and Teva/Zydus are only the brands. Every person reacts to medication uniquely and thus each person is going to have to decide which brand works best for them. Although they share the same active ingredient, often brands will have small differences such as size, inactive ingredients, shape, coating etc. I will provide you with some of these details I sourced from the NIH so you can make a more informed decision on which you would prefer to take. 8/17/17 I've been taking 25mg of Atenolol 3xday for Afib, I have it often, have a pacemaker and on pradaxa (blood thinner). Apparently Atenolol is back-ordered all over the country. My cardiologist prescribed Metoprolol, only 25mg 1xday. I'm switching tomorrow and I'm concerned with enough dosage from Metoprolol. I have googled, can't locate equivalent dosage, can you help? ## It is generally better to follow your doctor's instructions as to what dosage you should take. Since these are in the same medication class, the doses are also sometimes the same. The FDA warns that the side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. Have you started taking it, yet? If so, how are you doing?

Been taking (NEW) Diltiazem 180 mg 24 hr time release caps as well as tapering atenolol (was 100mg daily) had horrible symptoms so back on 25mg of atenolol with the diltiazem... can they be taken at the same time or should they be spaced a bit? For svt and BP control. ## Hello, Hyperdi! How are you? If your doctor has advised you to stop the Atenolol, then you should follow their instructions for stopping it. Taking both of them could cause your heart rate and blood pressure to go too low. What type of symptoms did you experience? You were likely experiencing some minor withdrawal effects, as well as new side effects from the Diltiazem. I can't tell you what to do, but if you aren't sure, you should consult your cardiologist. I will be taking atenolol + chlorothatizone 100mg/25mg at 9 am and azor 5mg/40mg at 9pm. Is this combination safe? ## Has your doctor instructed you take them both? If so, you should do so, because it is far more dangerous to let a cardiac condition, or high blood pressure continue out of control, than it is to take the medications. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.

Have taken Atenolol 50 mg. for years then developed nasty cronic cough...Dr. switched me to Losartan 25 mg, is this equivalent? Experiencing sweats today and wondered if this was a lower dose then what I was taking and it is impossible to find comparsion of strength of these medications. Please advise and thank you! ## Hello, Bradly! How are you? Yes, since they are different medications, you can't really compare the dosages. However, the sweats are likely caused by stopping the other medication and starting the new one, just your body's reaction. But have you checked with your doctor to be sure? ## Have checked but not satisfied yet, all I want to know is Atenolol 50mg equivalent to Losartan 25mg? Can 25 mg of Atenolol be replaced by 5 mg or by 2.5mg of Nebivolol? ## Hello, Sharda! How are you? From what I've been able to find, 2.5mgs of Nebivolol would be equivalent to 25mgs of Atenolol, but pleaser don't make a change, unless your doctor has instructed you to do so. Nebivolol is contraindicated with some medical conditions, such as heart failure/heart block. The FDA classifies these medications as beta blockers and list the most common side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain and increased urination. SMALL WHITE TABLETS ## My mother has been on Atenolol for her blood pressure for years and now the pharmacist told he is out of Atenolol and gave her Sandoz as a replacement.
