I have moderate stenosis in my main coronary artery, also in other arteries some luminal irregularites, have had attacks of artery spasm, stress test was fine. Could the irregularities be due to artery spasm? I have ticked all boxes for prinzmetal angina but doc still doesn't seem to think these attacks are heart related. I am concerned that because i do have heart disease can the angina be dangerous? I have had the attacks on and off since 2009. I was in the hospital twice. Nitro seems to help. I am still worried. ## I don't have an answer for you but I exactly what your going through. I am writing this as I sit in a hospital room just for exactly what you have. My last doctor also didn't believe that I have spastic artery disease. My angiogram report was just made availabl...

I have right renal artery stenosis and a mechanical aortic valve replacement. l would like to know if Verelan ER / PM is safer to take than Verapamil ER? Thank you so much for a reply. ## They are both the same thing, the Veralan is just a name brand for Verapamil. Thus, as to safety and the risk of side effects, the possible issues would be identical. Have you discussed your concerns with your doctor?

Discharge summary after stenosis: LEFT CIRCUMFLEX ARTERY was of moderate calibre and non-dominant. There were minor irregularities throughout. RIGHT CORONARY ARTERY was of moderate calibre and dominant. LEFT VENTRICULOGRAM was 12mmHg. Left ventricular systolic function was normal. There was no trans-aortic gradient.

I am 76 years old,I had a coronary - angiography with the overall conclusions as follows :Calcium Score 34.5 Coronary artery stenosis about 30% dia. My hypertension reads 145/65/73. For maintenance Doctor prescribed me Bisoprolol2.5 tab one daily and Aspilets 80 mg one daily. Are these in order or needed to reduced dosage? ## There are two reasons for the medications, to reduce your blood pressure and to improve cardiac function. Learn more Bisoprolol details here. Learn more Aspirin details here. The Aspirin also works as a blood thinner to help prevent the dangers associated with clotting. That said, you should follow your doctor's instructions for the best results and for your own health and safety. Are you experiencing any odd side effects or anything? ## Hi i am a hypothyroidis...

Peripheral vascular disease (PVD), commonly referred to as peripheral artery disease (PAD) or peripheral artery occlusive disease (PAOD), refers to the obstruction of large arteries not within the coronary, aortic arch vasculature, or brain. PVD can result from atherosclerosis, inflammatory processes leading to stenosis, an embolism, or thrombus formation. It causes either acute or chronic ischemia (lack of blood supply). Aprior Nicorandil

Nicorandil is a vasodilatory drug used to treat angina. Angina is chest pain that results from episodes of transient myocardial ischemia. This can be caused by diseases such as atherosclerosis, coronary artery disease and aortic stenosis. Angina commonly arises from vasospasm of the coronary arteries. There are multiple mechanisms causing the increased smooth muscle contraction involved in coronary vasospasm, including increased Rho-kinase activity. Increased levels of Rho-kinase inhibit myos...

Dear Doctor, I am 59 years old. Based on a CT coronary angiogram i have the following problems: "non-dominant calcified plaques in proximal LCX causing mild stenosis + calcified plaques in left anterior descending/circumflex coronary artery + dominant calcified plaques in proximal, mid RCA causing foci of mild stenosis". I am consuming Ecosprin AV 75 MG since 9 months and Metolar XR 50 since 6 months. So please advise how long i need to take Ecosprin AV 75 MG and Metolar XR 50? ## You should take them as long as your doctor instructs you to do so, which might be for the rest of your life. Stopping them could allow these issues to become life threatening. I don't like taking medications every day, either, but it is better than the alternative. The NIH lists the typical side e...

I was diagnosed with mild luminal irregularities throughout the left and right coronary system. Can anyone please explain what this means? ## This is considered having heart disease, a mild form of stenosis. To put it in more easy to understand terms, it's an abnormal narrowing of the cardiac arteries. The term "lumen" refers to the inside space of a blood vessel through which blood flows. An irregularity in the lumen can mean a variety of things but often refers to changes in the shape or smoothness of the artery's interior surface. This could be due to the buildup of plaque, which is a common cause of coronary artery disease. Has your doctor suggested any treatment or dietary changes? ## I have just been told I have minor luminal irregularities in my right coronary art...
