I was taking 120mg once a day of the Armour thyroid, then I had to get a mail order RX so when it came in the mail today the bottle said 2GR.. I thought 2gr was equevilent to like 2000mg??? So I was just wondering before I took my meds if the GR-mg were correct? Thanks for your help. J ## Yes, your understanding of the conversion is correct. However, the best way to get a definitive answer would be to have more information on the tablets, so I can look them up for you. Are there any markings on them? Is there a manufacturer listed? My opened bottle of Armour Thyroid spilled in to my damp sink. I quickly put them on a soft clean cloth to dry. Have they lost their potency? Some pills were pretty wet. ## Hello, Faye! How are you? Some of them have probably lost some potency, but there's no way to be sure how much. It would likely be best to speak to your doctor and obtain a new supply. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, hair loss and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

For underactive thyroid conditon ## I am trying to find a listing of the inert ingredients in Armour thyroid medicine ## Why is it so important to find the ingredients in a medication that has helped millions of people for many years? I have taken this medication for 25 years without any complications or side effects. Why isn't that enough for doctors? Don't they listen to their patients anymore. Are you a doctor or just a person I'm dumping on. ## Is ArmourThyroid meds is it better than Levothyroxine ??? ## Sunshine, there is really no way to say, since we are all different, it is really a matter of trial and error to discover what medication works for you, without causing unwanted side effects that make you miserable. The FDA warns that they both may cause similar side eff...

I am 70 yrs old and just started this pill. The Dr. said I'd lose weight & wouldn't get hot flashes anymore. Well, so far I took 2 pills one a day, and I have tiny bumps that itch like hell and a red rash, it's on one leg & swollen. Has anyone else ever had this from these pills?? He wants me to keep taking them but I don't know. ## How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? An itchy rash could be the sign of an allergic reaction, which means this might not be a good medication for you to take. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes, and mood changes. Are you on any other medications? ## I'm sorry, I'm just now seeing this message. I figured Armour was giving me the rash, it FINALLY went away. I'm stil...

Armour Desiccated Thyroid

Desiccated thyroid, also known as thyroid extract, is thyroid gland that has been dried and powdered for medical use.[1] It is used to treat hypothyroidism.[1] It is less preferred than levothyroxine.[1] It is taken by mouth.[1] Maximal effects may take up to 3 weeks to occur.[1] Side effects may occur from excessive doses.[1] This may include weight loss, fever, headache, anxiety, trouble sleeping...

## what are the side effects of this drug? ## How is Armour Thyroid Replacement Hormone listed for side effects? I have taken it for years and have stacked on the lbs. I am just learning it may be the Thyroid medication that may be the issue. I take two strengths and alternate them daily. 90 one day and 120 the next, then back to 90 etc.... I am told by my dietitian I do not eat enough. I am also diabetic so sugar is eaten but rarely. I am a carb eater though. My sugars are almost in the normal range. So why all this weight gain? I understand other factors are involved here. But I wonder if the Thyroid is one of those factors? ## The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, hair loss, mood changes, and weight changes. Some people do gain weig...

I am 28 and had taken 30-60mg of vyvanse for 2 weeks and it was working very well. I recently started taking 30mg armour thyroid and it seems that the vyvanse doesn't work as well or at all. I was wondering if I need to try a different ADD med or up the dose of Vyvanse. I read that the Vyvanse works by digestion then filtering through the liver and adderall is through bead technology. So IF ANYONE HAS ANY FEEDBACK ON EITHER DRUG IT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

I was told this is Armour. Looks like its totally not. I ordered it from India but it says thyroxine sodium tablets. Paid 140 bucks for it to. Which from what I'm reading its totally not Armour. Correct? ## You are correct. Armour actually contains desiccated thyroid gland from pigs. You can learn more Armour details here. Unfortunately, that's one of the hazards from ordering in such a manner, there's really no way of knowing what you may receive. Have you tried contacting the place you ordered from?

I have always been active, hiking, biking, walking. I am a former smoker though. Quit almost 20 years ago. About a year ago I was diagnosed with having low Thyroid levels and was put on levothyroxine 50mg. A couple of months later after more tests it was concluded that I have Hashimotos. Time frame August 2014-Aug 2015. In Jan 15 I noticed some asthma upon exertion and after talking with my doctor he suggested I carry an inhaler when exercising. I used the inhaler twice and then nothing for a couple of months although I did notice some gradual shortening of breath and headaches. Breathing got worse in April after a severe bout with bronchitis. Went back to Dr and he decided to try me on Armour. Still having shortness of breath but still able to take walks. About a month ago I went to se...

My TSH goes and up and down but i mostly feel OK with TSH at 1.0 at a dose of .075. Recently my nails are splitting, hair/skin very dry and stubborn weight gain. Dr. say its all in your head and to go on a diet. My question is the history and reviews of different levothyroid manufactures. For sure i cannot find a Dr. to RX armour or T3 of any kind and I'm not crazy about trying. I'm 65 y.o. and have only my thyroid med to take.. So my next option is to consider different options with synthroid,levoxol... Milan vs.Lannett. In 1995 to 1998 My weight, skin and hair were healthy and comfortable at 1.00 synthroid? i wasn't paying attention then to 'brands' of thyroid. Then as the years went on and they changed to levothyroxine generics....i started with yearly fluctuations...

I'm changing from Armour Thyroid to generic Levothyroxine. Any feedback as to the quality of the manufacturer, Amneal? I'm a little dizzy, and my eyes hurt and are very dry. ## They are a reputable manufacturer, but Armour Thyroid and Levothyroxine are not exactly the same, though they do treat the same conditions, so it is normal that you may experience some side effects, when you first switch. Other side effects to Levothyroxine may include weight changes, nausea, and loss of facial hair. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? ## I changed from Amour Thyroid to Nature-Throid. Amour changed the inert ingredients and I became allergic to them. I am now on Nature-Throid and it is excellent. ## I have found that I can only take the Mylan brand for some reason. Pharmacy...

I was prescribed Armour Thyroid but got this.. ## Are you in the U.S.? I can't find a listing for a pill with this marking, however, I can tell you that the FDA has made them stop selling Armour Thyroid and the generics in the U.S., because they had never undergone the approval process.

Thyroxine gives me debilitating headaches. Armour Thyroid seems to do nothing. Tyrosine and iodine also give me headaches and make me perspire and feel weak. Anyone got any advice? I suffer from hypothyroidism and fibromyalgia ## Levothyroxine is a thyroid hormone used to treat people whose thyroids are underactive. That said, headaches can be a common side effect, though they normally taper off as your body adjusts to the medication. Did yours continue past a month or so? Have you tried talking to your doctor to see if there is a solution, perhaps something you can use for the headaches or to prevent them? ## I have had migraines with Levothyroxine so came off tablets but went on the liquid Iml syringe at a time and increase every three days; this seems to be working. Hope this helps! ...

hello, I am on dextroamphetimine 40 mg a day for ADD symptoms, Tramadol PRN for back pain, Armour Thyroid 150 mcg for hypothyroidism,Cymbalta 120 mg for depression and 10 mg of Abilify both taken at bedtime Advair 100, and albuteral PRN for asthma. I experienced my first cluster headache a month ago. I saw a neurosurgeon and he put me on Divalproex sod dr 250 mg to start twice a day. Will this med interfere with anything I am currently taking? ## Do you have a main doctor that is aware of everything you are taking and is your pharmacy aware of all of them, to check for interactions? There are some possible problems. Mixing the Divalproex with the Cymbalta creates the risk of conditions such as Hyponatremia, which is low blood sodium. And mixing it with the Tramadol and Abilify can incre...

My MD just prescribed 25 mcg levothryoxine for my hypothyroidism. I am really uneasy about taking any synthetic drugs. I would like to try Armour Thyroid but he said it is harder to adjust and reserved for patients who can't tolerate levothyroxine. He advised I see another MD if I didn't want to try the levothyroxine. I'm not sure what I should do. ## Hi! My TSH is quite regularly over 100 (no joke!) Go to an endocrinologist if you can. TSH doesn't tell the whole story; you need free T4, free T3 also at the very least. And the thing about Armour thyroid being harder to adjust is BS. Armour has both T4 and T3 in it, and the endo will start you at a relatively low dose, re-check in 4-6 weeks, and adjust from there. My doctor made the same claim as yours, but I've done ...

I have been on synthroid for approx 11 years. Some of my symptoms never went away. Cold hands &feet, losing (it does grow back, but I have a million baby hairs on my head) hair, etc. I read somewhere that changing from a strictly T4 (Synthroid) to a T3T4 (Armour) thyroid medicine would help. My doctor gave me the new medicine Armour 1 GR (60mg). I was on synthroid 0.112MG). Did my doc give me too high a dose of the new amrour medicine? I want my symptoms to go away but I don't want to overdose. Help! ## I was on Synthroid 0.112mg and the Dr. put me on Armour Thyroid 3GR. which is 180mg.
