Antibiotics That Start With M
I lost a piece of paper that said what I'm allergic to, I think it's an antibiotic that starts with an M. It it gives me a rash, my back starts to feel itchy, I had to take it for a blood infection. ## Hi igor, Antibiotics starting with "M" include: Meropenem, Mezlocillin, Meticillin, Moxifloxacin, Mafenide, and Minocycline. Do any of these names ring a bell? I'm sure there may be others out there, but this is what I could gather at the moment. I hope it helps! ...

antibiotics that start with r
Used to treat MRSA ## To treat MRSA, Vancomycin or other antibiotics in the same class are used. Other options may include: Flucloxacillin, Erythromycin and Ciprofloxacin. I am not, however, finding any that start with an R. but it is possible that some doctors may use Rocephin, the active ingredient in Ceftriaxone, though it is not listed as being used to treat MRSA. Do you have any other information, such as antibiotic class or anything on the particular one or ones you are seeking information on? ## After taking a round of Cipro and Flagel, I have an imbalance of flora that is causing me diahrrea and stomach pain. I had this before some years ago and was prescribed something that Started with a V. can you suggest something, ...

my cousin had severe gum pain and she was given both aceclofenac paracentamol tablets along with antibiotics and her pain did not subside
The pain did not come down, only increased. I think it was because antibiotic tabs were given to the patient along with ace clofenac and para centamol tablets. ## No, it isn't likely that the antibiotic caused the pain to increase, that's not how they work and generally after taking them for 3 days, she should start to see improvement. However, she may have still experienced some slight worsening of the infection, which could have caused increased pain. Another possibility is that it was due to the fact that both the Aceclofenac and the Paracetamol can cause some blood thinning, which could have increased blood flow to the area, this may have increased the sensitivity and swelling, so the pain increased. These also aren't very strong pain relievers, so may not have been very... ...

advise regarding the possible antibiotics that have NO BLOOD THINNER QUALITIES
I had an open sore on my left big toe, and I went swimming in a personal friends lagoon on their resort. A staff infection got into the sore and quickly spread throughout my left leg. The leg swelled to three times it's normal size, and I spent three weeks in a hospital, where they bombarded it with antibiotics. That procedure was working, but the antibiotics had trace effects of blood thinner qualities. I am a heart patient that has had nine heart procedures, including a quadruple bypass. I cannot take ANY TYPE OF BLOOD THINNER WITHOUT HEMORAGING. The antibiotics with thinners in them caught up with me, and I spent several trips to the hospital, severely hemoraging from the nose and mouth. I had to stop the antibiotics, and now the infection is starting to spread in my leg again. M... ...

isn't possible that my partner don't get treatment of metronidazole
I am a 23year gal.I had slept with my boyfriend them later I started feeling iching on my vagina.they gave me fixime 400mg,bio-metronidazole 200 and doxytet.and my boyfriend said his not feel any changing on himself, isn't neccesary for him to go for treatment? ## It looks like they've loaded you up with three different antibiotics for this itching you're having. Do you know if they confirmed that it was in-fact an infection and not some other sort of allergic reaction to lube, latex, or something else? In my opinion, if your boyfriend hasn't noticed any problems, I'd still consider having him checked out (diagnosed) for your own safety. Especially if you plan on sleeping together again. The itching had to have come from someone or something you or him may have used. ... ...

Has anyone experienced Thrush with Savella?
I am just curious as to whether or not anyone else had possibly experienced thrush while taking Savella. I finished a 3 week course of antibiotics and then started Savella about a week after finishing the meds. About a week after I started the medication I suddenly felt as if I was swallowing something in the back of my throat. I thought I had severe dry mouth. I went to the doctor to only find that I had thrush. They chalked it up to the fact I had been on clyndamyacin then went on a week course of Levaquin back to back. I then went on Dyflucan for seven days, but it did not seem to help at all. The doctor then prescribed me another week long dose of Dyflucan along with me taking probiotics and yogurt everyday it still seemed after 11 days it was still out of control. I discontinued th... ...

does amoxicillin go bad with age?
I bought 100 amoxicillin caps about 3 years ago and stored them in a dark place, and I was curious if they would still be good to take. ## does amoxicillin expire ## don't use it. amoxicillin goes bad a year from when you bought it. ## Actually, no, it does not go bad, it just loses efficacy, so it is not as strong or as potent as when you first bought, starting from about 18 months past the manufacture date. You should never self-diagnose or self-treat with antibiotics anyway, there are so many other conditions that will not respond to them, so they have no effect, and you of course run the risk of developing an antibiotic resistant strain of something with overuse, so please see your doctor. ## first of all why do you just have the drug sitting around? did you take it and not finis... ...

How long to wait resolotution of infection signs with amox clav 875 mg
My wife (Diabetic) with history of bladder infections, went to doctor with ache/pains and strong difficulty swallowing, was diagnosed with ear and throat (swollen) infection. Prescription was AMOX -CLAV, 1-tablet every 12-hr. She has been on subject pill for 24-hr's w/o any discernible change, complaining of strong body ache/pains and difficulty swallowing. How long should I rely on pill, if no change, before returning to doctor... or going to hospital? ## Hi! Sorry she's so miserable! The general rule for antibiotics is that there should be no worsening after they've been taken for a full 24 hours and improvement should start within 72 hours (3 days), so if you see worsening or there's no improvement after that time frame, she'll need more medical attention. This is... ...

Long Term Doxy use for MRSA - Chest tightness & nervousness
Hi, I have been taking doxycycline for about a year to fight back chronic MRSA Staph infection in the femur (had several operations on leg so far). I am alergic to some other antibiotics and tried Septra and that gave me rashes. So I am kind of stuck with Doxy. A few months after I started taking Doxy I started developing what I thought at the time was general anxiety disorder as I would develop chest tightness/pressure and general nervousness which in turn would make it extremely difficult to concentrate at work and hard to hold up conversations with people. Sure I have some anxiety over bills, work, life, but nothing that I obsessively worry about. However, thinking my issue was anxiety I started taking anti-anxiety meds (BuSpar and Ativan) - I got off the Ativan about 3 weeks ago as ... ...

Keflex
I am concerned about starting keflex because I just finished taking amoxicillin ## Did you find out if it was okay to start taking this? On the drug info page it says to let your doctor know if you are taking any other antibiotics while taking keflex. But technically if you already stopped taking the amoxicililn then you might be safe to take keflex. Sometimes you might be prescribed a different antibiotic so that the bacteria don't build a tolerance in your body to the original one you were on. But it is definitely best to triple check with your doctor about this. Is it for the same infection or for a new infection as when you were first on the amoxicillin ? ## Yes, starting a new one, when you've already finished the other is generally not a problem, unless your doctor has spe... ...

how long to be effective ## My daughter has taken 2 doses of Amox-Clav 875...How long before symptoms will begin to deminish? (bronchitis symptoms, diagnosed at walk-in clinic) ## This is actually a question that is very commonly asked about antibiotics. The way it should work is… Once the antibiotic has been started, if it's working, there should be no worsening of the condition after 24 hours of dosing. And improvement should be seen within 3 days (72 hours). Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Learn more Augmentin details here. Deltacortril Prednisolone used for Bells Palsy?
Recently I had an absess, went on antibiotics and got the tooth removed. At the same time my left hand side of my face pulled down somewhat - my lips at the side, my eyelid, hard to talk or smile, face distorted. My doctor says it might be Bells Palsy. Does this normally happen with an absess or maybe they are not related? Is Bells Palsy temporary? My Doctor prescribed the Deltacortil Ent 5mg starting with 8 for the first 4 days then reducing after that. Can you advise on any of this, Thanks ## You can learn more about Bell's Palsy here: It's basically when something causes paralysis of some of the facial nerves and yes, it can sometimes be caused from a bad infection that spreads. The swelling that can occur can cause compression of the facial nerves. Usually corticosteroids, s... ...

I am thinking to stop these tablets now. 10 tablets which I already took are not sufficient to clear my acne infection ? I dont want to take any other antibiotics now. :-( ## This is a sulfa based antibiotic, the name brand for it is Bactrim and it is well known for causing such side effects. amox tr k clv 600
if you are allergic to cefdinir can you take amox? ## Yes, they are a different class of antibiotics. Cefdinir is a Cephalosporin antibiotic. Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid is a generic for Augment, under the Penicillin class of antibiotics. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, diarrhea and skin rash. Read more: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## I just finished a 7-day cycle of amox-tr-k clv 875-125mg yesterday for a sudden infection in my toe. About 29 hours after I started taking it I got a headache (which I rarely get). It went away w/Tylenol, but returned after Tylenol wore off.
