Antibiotics That Start With E For Pneumonia

I started Butrans 10 on 4/30. Had amazing relief. I felt better than I had in years. I caught a cold around April 20th. Went straight to my chest. My Dr thought I had walking pneumonia and started me on a course of steroids and antibiotics. 10 days later, no improvement, chest xray clear but wheezing and heavy with breathing. Dr. gave another round of steroids and antibiotics. This past weekend, I started to feel like a brand new cold came on me. Severe head congestion, terrible cough, the works. I went to urgent care. That Dr. told me it was allergy related. He gave a decadron shot, Z pak, started me on Zyrtec, albuterol inhaler. Today is the first day I have started to feel a little better. On my second day and no relief yet. ## Hello, Holly! How are you doing? Has there been any improvement, yet? The general rule for an antibiotic is, if it's working, you shouldn't see any worsening after being on it for a full 24 hours and you should start to see improvement after a full 3 days. What inhaler are you on? The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

I was given levaquin post pneumonia to combat another suspected respiratory infection. Within two weeks every joint in my body hurt. That lasted 8 weeks. During that time I experienced a vitreo macular separation in my right eye. Soon after this my hair began to fall out. I lost about 50% of it. My symptoms have subsided but I realize I am one of the lucky ones. This drug is toxic to so many people. I have taken cipro in the past with no ill effect but levaquin put me over the edge. A 90 year old woman was diagnosed with penumonia about 4 weeks ago which required hospitalization. She was placed on an antibiotics was not getting any better. Was rushed by ambulance to the hospital for choking and was placed on prednisone of 50 mg/day for a week with a plan to have the prednisone decreased by 10mg/day every week there after, until weaned. She starts today with 20 mg(s)/day for the next week, but has not regained any of her energy. I am praying for a miracle that she will regain her strength, but it does not look very promising. I was prescribed 1 , 4 mg med pack for cough and fluid in lungs that wouldn't clear up with antibiotics alone. This all started with strep and pneumonia. I have a history of panic attacks and depression, but it has been years. After the first 3 pills it was time for bed. Awoke after 2 hours and remained awake for 24 hours, 4 panic attacks in that time. Called doc. She said take a day of off of pack to rest, then continue.
