dan ## Well, there are several, including the narcotic Dilaudid. Do you know if the information you are seeking is on a narcotic, anti-inflammatory or other type? ## Dan, go to the page Drug Categories, then to Pain Relief, and if you scroll down it will list the medications fitting in that category alphabetically. Just scroll down to the D's and you will see there are a few listed. Hope this helps!

pain med starts with the letter a and is mild dont have the harsh side effects as other pain meds do ## Do you have any other information on it, such as it's classification? Is it a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, are narcotic, a Cox-2 Inhibitor? That would really help to narrow it down. ## New pain medicine that is in same class as Ultram. It is under lock and key at pharmacy. It is a type of 'agonist' med? I learned of it in Chronic pain management clinic. Forgot it's name.

peach color ## It's a non-steroid anti-inflammatory. It's in the same drug class as Advil, Motrin, Aleve, Orudis. It is usually prescribed to take every 8 to 12 hours, unless it's the extended-release version which gets taken once a day. Good idea is to take with food or milk, it can be rough on the tummy. I used it for all-over aches with fibromyalgia and it worked well. My fibro has lessened so now I just take Advil as needed. I took the same dose, 50mg, but a doctor MAY prescribe a higher dosage if you don't get releif from the dose he/she starts you at. You want to take as low a dose as possible (in my unprofessional opinion) because like other drugs in this class, long term use can lead to stomach bleeding. It doesn't have any properties that it would make you h...

And as to the medication, it is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so no it shouldn't cause such severe issues. What dosage does she take? Has she consulted a doctor?

My husband has a dislocated hip waiting to get in to the Ortho Dr. His primary Dr. Prescribed tramadol 50 mg 1 to 2 every 6 to. 8 hrs. & hydrocodone 10/325 1 at 4 times a day. I made him a schedule of: 2 tramadol every 6 hrs. 1 hydro every 3 hrs and every hour & 1/2 1/2 a hydro. Most the time he goes to bed by 9 to 9:30. On average he's taking 4 to 5 hydro per day and 6 tramadol per day. I also set my clock for 2 am to give him 2 tramadol so that when he gets up at 5:30 he's not in a excruciating pain. Then he takes a hydro & starts his schedule. Is this too much? We've never taken anything but an anti inflammatory. ## @SB, According to umm.edu, there are drug interactions between Tramadol and Hydrocodone. However this may not be a concern depending on how often ...

I have been taking Apo-meloxicam since Tuesday. I have taken 4 pills for inflammation in my lower back and right leg. Am a little concerned as to why the pain is not going away? How long before the pill starts to work? ## Meloxicam is just a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so while it can help with some minor pain, fever, and swelling, it will not alleviate pain as well as an opiate would. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation. You may need a stronger pain reliever. Have you informed your doctor?
