Six months ago I had the staph infection MERSA. Three lesions were surgically treated and I was on bactrim for three weeks.The results were successful. One week ago I indicated to my internist,who was completely aware of the prior condition and treatment, that I had a supect growth on my rear. Upon examination he doubted that the infection was a repeat , did not suggest surgery but did prescribe ciprofloxacin 500 mg for a period of 10 days. In another city four days latter I beleived that that the growth had increased. Went to a large city hospital's emergency room were the senior specialist recommended lancing.That was done and I left with a perscription for sulfameth/trimethoprim 800/600 to be taken over ten days. I am taking pills suggested by physician to pre pone my preiods. Now I am suffering from cold and cough and Dr. has given me Antibiotics. Can both the medicines be consumed simulteniously as the contraceptives mentions "no effect if taken while consuming anti biotics" Please guide

Hi I'm 21 year old mum and from cambridge. I started the anti-biotics metronidazole 400g and doxycycline 100g 6days ago because my doctor thinks I've got some sort of infection after an examination. Each tablet I've got to take one twice a day, with or after food and I've got to take them for two weeks. But the reason for this comment is recently I've bin sufforing from anxiety, the last couple weeks I've panicked more! To the point I don't even smoke anymore! The thought of smoking worrys me along with drinkin ect, and I've bin a smoker for years! Literally 20-30 a day! Hi doc, my baby she is 1 month old she has a dry cough, i took her to a clinic they only gave her parcetamol, not anti biotics or powder for suspension, should i buy it ## Hi Nokuzola, Based on my research, newborns 2 months or older can safely be given Paracetamol (also know as Acetaminophen) as long as the dose is correctly measured based on the newborn's body weight. If your doctor said it was ok to give your 1 month old Paracetamol/Acetaminophen, just be sure to confirm that the dosage is right so no problems occur. Why would a dental surgeon recommend a round of this antibiotic during the follow up to wisdom teeth extraction? We got no explanation, but were just told to go on another round of anti-biotics. ## My ear is swollen because I have cleaned it with a bobby pin and gotten it infected. Fever started 1 week after femor neck surgery. Elevated levels of ESR (above 100)and CPR(above 23). Doctor rules out osteomyelitis. Put on ant biotics by GP. Fever has not come down substantially after 3 weeks of treatment.Chill and fever starts in the afternoon after lunch and continues throught night. Doctor asking us to wait and continue. I was diagnosed In February this year with a haemorrhaging stomach ulcer. Biopsies showed no H-Pylori and no cancer but some baterial activity. I have no typical ulcer symtoms no pain and no acid reflux. I have been treated with anti-biotics and flagil plus a blood transfusion in February and again in June on account of red blood cell count being below 7. I have also been on Topzole since February and the dose of Topzole has been doubled since June. Since I do not suffer from acid reflux is Topzole the correct drug for me? I am 75 years old and am now worried about breaking bones. I am a bit dizzy, with itchy skin and often have hot flushes. Can hot flushes be side effect of Topzole? My son has just turned 13 and has developed, what I thought, were only zits on his forehead, however our family doctor says he is developing Acne and has prescribed Purbac. My mother (86yrs) started on exelon 4.6 4 weeks ago. She suffers from bronchiectasis on one lung and I feel like her breathing has worsened since using the patches. Initially - as its coughs and colds season- the GP put her on anti biotics and high steroid dosage (6 per day) but 10 days later she has worsened. As of today 6th Jan, she is on the 9.5 patches. I have read it can cause breathing problems. Any other experiences or advice please on this, as the GP doesnt think it is Exelon related. Thanks in advance ## Thank you. Xygres- I think that is how it is spelled. My husband was given this drug while he was in a chemically induced coma. They stated that it thins your blood so that the infection has no chance to latch on to anything and then they chase it with anti-biotics. I am wondering about the success rate.My husband had a strep A infection which sent him into septic shock. Then the flesh eating (necrotizing faciatis , pardon my spelling) took hold of his lower right leg. Just this morning he noticed a stiffness of his left arm and redness which is warm to touch. He will not go to the doctor. I think he is afraid of what they might find.

I have been taking naproxen for heel pain but whilst on it i got a really bad dose of head cold and also took a cold and flue capsule. I experienced a tight chest( probably the cold ) and became a little breathless with exertion, so I stopped taking both. Doctor said I had a chest infection and gave me antibiotics. After my cold cleared up and i finished the course of anti biotics i started to use the naproxen again and once again noticed breathlessness. I have now stopped taking them as it is mentioned to be one of the side effects, I wonder how long does this drug remain in your system, as after 30hrs without them i still feel a little breathless. ## Hello, Jackie! I've been taking Humira for about three years. I recently caught my first bacterial infection. It is called campylobacter. I was told by doctor that campylobacter is a common bacteria but because of my compromised immune system due to humira use the bacteria invaded my system and made me very ill. Easily conquered with anti biotics but not pleasant at all. Severe diarrhea, stomach cramps, nausea, fever of 103 for about 5 days and dehydration. I believe I got the bacteria from a deli sandwich but am not entirely sure but that was the only thing I ate the day before my symptoms started. I was in quarantine in the hospital for 5 days. I was given three 500mg tablets of azitromicina cinfa written on box is comprimidos recubiertos con pelicula EFG by a dr in Spain 3-4 weeks ago i took them as i was on holiday and had cold cough phlegm etc for two and half weeks and couldn’t get rid of it so went to the dr in spain who perscribed the above tablets.
