Amyl Nitrite Drug Index

Amyl nitrite is a chemical compound with the formula C5H11ONO. A variety of isomers are known, but they all feature an amyl group attached to the nitrite functional group. The alkyl group is unreactive and the chemical and biological properties are mainly due to the nitrite group. Like other alkyl nitrites, amyl nitrite is bioactive in mammals, being a vasodilator, which is the basis of its use as a prescription medicine. As an inhalant, it also has a psychoactive effect, which has led to its...

I have had amyloidosis in the past and was treated with Velcade and Decadron Are there other treatments? ## Hello, Jerrie! How are you? Chemotherapy drugs are usually used to treat it, most commonly Mephalan with the steroid Dexamethasone. Side effects can include nausea, dizziness, hairless and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

Pancreatic enzymes, also known as pancreases or pancrelipase and pancreatin, are commercial mixtures of amylase, lipase, and protease.[1][2] They are used to treat malabsorption syndrome due to certain pancreatic problems.[1] These pancreatic problems may be due to cystic fibrosis, surgical removal of the pancreas, long term pancreatitis, or pancreatic cancer, among others.[1][3] The preparation is taken by mouth....

Dear representative, I've been searching the market for a digestive enzyme for the longest time but Enzypride is the only one that comes close to suit my digestive needs. My body does not produce sufficient Lipase and Protease enzyme to digest respectively fatty food and protein whereas the amylase level in my body is high. As you know Enzypride is made of Amylase 11000 U, Lipase 12500 U and Protease 800 U, so is there a possibility that you can manufacture a batch with about 3000 U of amylase instead of 11000 U? The thing is I will be on this medication for the rest of my life so you can make the difference by being the only Pharmaceucal company to produce it and I'm sure there are other people suffering with the same kind of digestive disorder as this is the case for me. I'...

An amylase (/æmlez/) is an enzyme that catalyses the hydrolysis of starch (Latin amylum) into sugars. Amylase is present in the saliva of humans and some other mammals, where it begins the chemical process of digestion. Foods that contain large amounts of starch but little sugar, such as rice and potatoes, may acquire a slightly sweet taste as they are chewed because amylase degrades some of their starch into sugar. The pancreas and salivary gland make amylase (alpha amylase) to hydrolys...

For many years I have had a problem digesting starch, especially if a starchy meal has been followed with a sweet dessert. There is usually a vile breath issue that lasts for days. I have started self administering amylase and it has helped, but am not sure how many pills I can pop before I possibly "overdose". Does anyone have information re what the maximum recommended USP units are for amylase per meal? I have capsules at the moment which have 75,000 USP units per tablet, and I sometimes take 2 at a time. Wondering whether this can be injurious at all. Any help or advice here would be appreciated. Has anyone else out there experienced problems when mixing starch & sugar in the same meal? eagerly awaiting some responses Jack

I was diagnosed with Myeloma and AL Amyloidosis in May 2016. After taking a lot of medication for 7 months, fortunately my condition went into remission and I was taken off all drugs which included Revlimid in December 2016. I am now 10 months into remission but I have lost the taste of food. Although it has improved slightly it is still there. When will it come back. Has anyone experienced a similar problem. LH ## Still have the loss of taste. Anyone experienced this and what to do!

Should Amiodarone 200mg Tab ZYD be prescribed to someone diagnosed with Amyloidosis? My amyloidosis is causing a very irregular heart beat, stiffness in my wrist, legs & jaw. I have taken Amiodarone for one day (3 pills) and stiffness appears to be worse & was unable to sleep. I have a history of being very sensitive to medications. ## It is normal to experience some side effects, whenever you start a new medication. The FDA lists those as being possibly side effects, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. Having only taken 3 pills, it would be very odd to notice a significant change, but we are all different, so the possibility cannot be ruled out. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications?
