I have been on 20 mg amphetamine salts 4 x a day for over 3 yrs. I think I need my dose increased to 30 mg 4 x day . I've been wanting to discuss this with my doctor for a while now but something else is always wrong and I've been forgetting everything again if I don't write it down!! I think I've been on the same dose too long. Doesn't it need to be increased every so often pertaining to your symptoms getting worse?? ## I can't take extended release adderall.. I have Celiac and just found out I have to watch the medications I take now as well. I take D-Amphetamine 30mg BID and was told by my pharmacy the manufacturer was Teva. I have a written orescription from my Dr specifically saying "Sandoz brand only." Yeah well noone has any. Ive called and gone to every pharmacy around and noone carries it. Is it normal for the size and shape of a generic drug to vary from store to store? ## These types of pills can be different shapes, colors, and sizes. I was given this prescription and it is made by actavis inc. I take 30mg and the manufacturer is different and the pill is a orange or peach color and round. It is smaller than the orange or peach pills that I took before. Hi, I usually take 30mg of adderal per day, in the morning. I am making a switch to amphetamine salts. They are the blue tablets, and I was wondering if anyone knows how many I wouldn't have to take to get the same effect? 30mg dosent let me sleep at night but I need close to that many mg to get me through the day. I just got a refill of 30mg tabs amphetamine salts. This month I have been switched again! I can't find any information on this particular brand - it's imprint is M A30, it's orange and round. The pharm company is Mylan I think. I have had the orange ovals (most effective and metabolized for me), the round pink (made my stomach upset), and now these. I was recently diagnosed with Adult ADD and have been prescribed Amphetamine Salts (Generic for Adderall) for a few months now. The initial dosage was one 10mg tablet/ three times a day and recently my Doctor upped the dosage to one 30mg tablet/ twice a day. How long do the therapeutic effects of this medication last? Why mix amphetamine & dextroamphetamine as ingredients? ## According to Standford Medicine, Adderall's duration of action lasts for around 6 hours. They go on to state that the extended release version lasts for 10-12 hours. Source: stanford.edu/medications/adderall.html Additionally, Adderall's peak effects reportedly take place within 1-3 hours - but I'd imagine this figure would vary for each individual. As to your second question, I don't know why they would mix the two different types of amphetamine salts. I can only speculate that each one picks up where the other falls short in some pharmacological aspects. Hope this helps!
