I had fever and I took paracetamol and i got relieved. after that I have colds and feel that I have phlegm in my chest for 6 days now. I cough sometimes. I want to know if Natravox is good for my colds. ## Have you consulted a doctor? Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid, commonly prescribed in the U.S. under the brand name Augmentin, is an antibiotic that will only work to treat or prevent infections. This means it can help if your problem is caused by an infection, but it should not be used for anything else. A cold is caused by a virus and this will not do anything to treat viruses.

Is it ok to take both bioflu and co-amoxiclav to treat my colds and cough? Thank you. ## The Co-Amoxiclav will not do anything to treat a cold, or cough. This medication can only treat a bacterial infection, the NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. However, colds and flu are caused by viral infections, so an antibiotic will not help. Did you doctor tell you take them? ## Oh ok. Thanks Verwon. What would be the most effective type of meds I should take for a cough, cold, or flu that are taking a longer time to be cured? And prevent it from coming back as well? ## Is it safe to take bioflu for the fever and co amoxiclav? ## Can I take bioflu and cotrimoxazole or bioflu and co amoxiclav?

I took co-amoxiclav for 7 days for an infection. Two days after finishing the course I have had intense itching all over with no rash. Worse at night. This has been going on for 6 days now. Has anyone else had this happen? ## That can happen, but if there is no rash, or hives, it is usually nothing to worry about and should go away within a few weeks, according to NIH reports. Has there been any change? Are you still itching? Have you had it checked out by your doctor? There are really the only one that can give you a definitive diagnosis.

My father-in-law was prescribed these 3 antibiotics. Should they be taken together or one course after another. Father-in-law has trouble with english. He broke his back at a young age and had a hernia repaired. The site of the hernia is painful, his back and kidneys hurt and has burning urine. This is the second "infection" in 3 weeks. First time doctor only gave amoxyclav ## Only the doctor can say for sure, but they can be taken together. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash. Were any instructions provided with the medications? ## Thank you. Unfortunately no written instructions were given. Returning to state hospital today to confirm. Thank you for reply. Will post again when we return.

BEFORE STARTING ONE OF MY KIDS WHO IS 13 YRS OLD ON AMOXICLAV K 875-125MG AUGMENTIN TWICE DAILY, MY CONCERN IS BECAUSE IT IS THE SAME DOSAGE THE DOCTOR GIVES MY 19 YR OLD AND WITH MY 13 YR OLD IT HAS USUALLY BEEN 500MG AUGMENTIN ONCE DAILY!! DOES DOSAGE CHANGE WITH AGE AND IS THIS A SAFE DOSE FOR MY 13 YR OLD TO BE TAKING??!! ## Augmentin is an antibiotic used to treat various types of infections and the dosage for this class of medications isn't figured by age or body mass, it is actually figured by the type and severity of the infection being treated. Below is a link to Natrapharm who makes this product, Natravox, generic name Co-amoxiclav, and posts the details about the product. It's very good detail. I've been prescribed the product for lung infection and UTI. Within 24 hours results were seen but do the 7 days as with all antibiotics if you don't have any side effects.. I didn't have any side effects/issues and all things considered I'd prefer this product as my antibiotic. It's expensive compared to generics so consider the generic if you can get it in your area of the world. So it's sodium amoxicilin and the clav acid. The clav side is more of leg breaking (just an analogy not really legs) and not a strong penicillin. But I guess it's easier to take down your bug if it's legs have been remove...
