How long does it need to be taken? ## Hi Bunny, From what I could gather, the standard dose of Amoxicillin for dogs is reportedly 5 mg for every pound the dog weighs [administered every 12 hours], or 10 mg per pound [administered every 24 hours]. I haven't come across any specific details concerning the duration of treatment, but I'd imagine that it would differ on a case by case basis depending on the type and severity of the infection. Nevertheless, I think it would ultimately be your safest bet to have a veterinarian determine which dosing regimen to go by after evaluating the dog in person. I've been using Amox Tr Clv 825-125 for my strep throat and ive been suffering from a very severe chronic headache side affect anybody got any advice for me ## From what I could gather, headaches are in-fact listed as a side effect of Amoxicillin + Clavulanate Potassium. If this medication just isn't agreeing with your body, my honest opinion would be to either go for a different antibiotic or try a natural alternative to help remedy the infection. For starters, natural raw honey can help sooth your throat of phlegm, mucous, and irritation from coughing. I believe raw honey also has potent antibacterial properties to aid in your treatment. I know an antibiotic is used to treat it but would like to know if this specific one will do the trick ## The first choices to treat Chlamydia are usually Azithromycin, or Doxycycline.
