My daughter was given amoxicillin 250mg/5ml by her doctor for little ear and throat infection. On the second day after taking this medicine, my daughter started losing her voice. Now her voice barely comes out when she tries to talk or when she cries. Also she started getting cough specially while sleeping. I want to know is this another side effect of tis medicine and I stop giving her this medicine? If not, what is the correct dose i Should give her? She is 13 months old and 19 lbs. ## Actually, if she had a throat infection, then those symptoms are most likely from that and not from the antibiotic. The side effects from the antibiotic can include things like diarrhea, nausea and non-allergic skin rash. Learn more Amoxicillin details here. And the dose is based on her weight, so that...

son is 13 months old and 22 lbs he is to take 400 mg /5ml susp 100ml of amox. 1 teaspoon 2xs a day for ear infection is this the correct dosage? ## Hi Jennifer, From what I can find, the usual dose for a child greater than 3 months old (with a mild/moderate ear infection) is (25 mg/kg) per day in divided doses every 12 hours- or (20 mg/kg) per day in divided doses every 8 hours. Is 1 teaspoon twice a day of 400 mg Amoxicillin suspension what your doctor prescribed? If so, I don't see why it wouldn't be correct. My daughter is slim, 40 kgss, prescribed 1000 mg amoxicillin twice a day for tooth pain, is this too much ## How old is she? Past the age of 12, it is usually dosed according to the severity of the infection, prior to that, it is dosed by weight. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. That is not, however, a dangerous dose. That amount can be prescribed, if necessary. ## My 13 year old has tonsillitis can she take a 500mg amoxicillin capsule??

Just a little background I'm a 17 year old thats 131 pounds and a pretty nice down to earth guy. Two days ago I went to the doctor for ear pain, it turns out my ear was swollen and preventing drainage, I was prescribed prednisone (2 20mg tablets each morning, 5 days), along with amoxicillin (2 500mg tablets)and antibacterial ear drops. I took my first dosage this morning about 10 o'clock, my mom called me to ask me how I was doing at around 1 I noticed I was extremely sassy and agitated talking to her but aft that was over things went back to normal. I new that prednisone was a steroid and as a dumb 17 year old I got kinda happy that I might gain muscle, so I looked it up, turns out it is the opposite and it makes you gain weight, honestly I didn't really care about that I w...
