i would like to know what it looks like a cap ## A friend gave me some medicine, she said it was amoxicillin 500 mg. the capsule is red and white. It has no imprint on it. There are no numbers at all. she is a nurse should I take them or call the pharmacy ## I would bring it to a licensed pharmacist and see if they are able to identify it. I have seen two manufacturers of amoxicillin 500mg. One of them is an elongated orange capsule. The other, also elongated in an identical shape, is pink and red. ## All manufactured U.S. prescription medications, be they capsules, or tablets, are required by law to have unique imprints on them to enable their identification, in case of emergency. Thus, something is not marked, is most likely an over the counter product, though there is also a small ch...

My friend in USA has great difficulty swallowing large antibiotic caps; I suggested she asks her doctor to prescribe half the dosage and double the quantity of pills. My friend misunderstood and asked the PHARMACIST who said there are no smaller sized ones. I believe there must be lower doses and she could double the amount of caps. Please help, anybody who knows about USA antibiotics! ## half the dosage of a capsule does not equal to half the size of it. Injection may be better and faster solution ## MAHDI is correct, a lower dosage doesn't necessarily mean a smaller size. Amoxicillin is an antibiotic, so it is very important that the proper dosage be taken for the right length of time to treat or prevent an infection. However, there are liquid suspensions available, as well as che...

Amoxicillin is an antibiotic similar to Penicillin; they both contain sulfur, and have a similar taste (very unpleasant) and sulfur odor (easily detected during urination). Both are effective for upper respiratory tract infections. Amoxicillin sold under the brand name GIMALXINA is COUNTERFEIT (I do not mean generic, I mean a PLACEBO or FAKE). It may even HARM you. Counterfeit Drugs are estimated to steal over $50 Billion each year from consumers. Many of these Counterfeit Drugs are sold over the internet. You really have no recourse of action when getting drugs in this manner, especially from another country. Gimalxina Amoxicillina is made in Mexico, but sold by numerous internet companies; it is FAKE as are many drugs made in Mexico. Do Not Waste your money on Counterfeit, Fake Gimalx...

Hi, just wondered if it's safe to take alcohol with "pinamox caps 500mg amoxicillin".. I assumed it wasn't until I looked at the other medicine (a cough bottle) that I was prescribed by the same doctor.. It has ethanol (alcohol) in it. I finish big exams soon and have been looking forward to a cocktail party for ages.. If it's dangerous to take the course of tablets with alcohol then I'm considering not taking the tablets (three a day) for the day of the celebrations. Am I crazy? ## There are always dangers if you mix a medication with alcohol, however, the general reason you are warned about it withy Amoxicillin is because it can worsen the side effects. As part of flu, I had congetion with flum accumulation. Tried a course of mild antibiotics 250 mg but still traces of flum used to come out with cough. So I thought of taking Amox-500 mg (it was available at home). After taking tablet I realized that I shouldn't have taken such a strong dose and now I want to stop. Please let me know if this has any side effects or relapse of lung infecton? ## Was an infection confirmed by a doctor? A flu isn't caused by a bacterial infection, it is caused by a virus and antibiotics will not be effective at treating it, or its symptoms. They are only effective against bacterial infections. what is the shelf life of amoxicillin 45 ## These contain 500mgs of Amoxicillin and, if they have been dispensed in a pharmacy bottle, then the normal shelf life is 1 year from when you had it filled. After that year, they start to lose effectiveness. If they are in the original factory sealed container, their shelf life may be longer. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Could you please provide a citation that shows there is a minimum of one year of shelf life after the prescription is filled?

My dermatologist currently has me taking 500mg capsules of Amoxicillin twice daily as part of my acne treatment. I have been on it for about a year. We've tried other medications before this but i've always had problems with side effects. I've read that some antibiotics and medications can be harmful to the ears (otoxic). Can long-term Amoxicillin use be otoxic or harmful to my ears in any way. ## I don't think it can but, I'm not sure talk to your doctor about it. don't worry about it though! ## There can be many problems caused from taking an antibiotic for such a long period of time, including developing antibiotic resistant illnesses.

I went to the dentist Nov 30 for pain in my back molars. She found I have a gum infection from my gum growing over my teeth. I had my wisdom teeth out 3 years ago and I guess that's how they healed and food gets stuck in the gums. I've been taking the Amoxicillin 3 times a day and the antibacterial mouthwash that was also prescribed. My gum pain almost seems worse today December 3. I feel like it's not working. I have an appointment in 4 days to go back, should I wait or call tomorrow? ## Hello, Savanah! How are you? Is there still food stuck in your gums? I am going only for dental check-up after having had a Hip Revision Surgery and do not expect to have any fillings or anything, only teeth cleaning. My son has a horrible cough for days now following an up and down temp. I have a few 500mg of Amoxicillin capsules from my recent dental root canal fun times.
