Have you talked to your doctor about it? It just may not be the right medication for you to use. Are you taking anything else, at the same time? ## Some common side effects of Amoxicillin include an upset stomach, vomiting, and diarrhea. Other side effects can include excessive tiredness and a lack of energy. I would imagine that one or more of these symptoms can induce a feeling of anxiety or giddiness if the effects are truly overwhelming. I went to ER 36 hours after cat bit on back of left rist. It was swelling and red and painful. DR. gave me Amox 875. He said it takes 24 hours to be effective. It's been 24 hours. I noticed that the swelling has increased a little, puffy knuckles and the marker line, a rash is extended about 1/2 inch over the original line. I'm wondering if this is how the drug works or is the infection spreading more. If it breaks up the infection and flushes it out of the limb, the rash moving over the swelling line would be understandable. I watching it close, now that I know how serious a cat bit can be. Can you drink alcohol while taking this medication? ## I'm not that sure, but I wouldn't take the chance. talk to your doctor ## Since alcohol is a blood thinner, it will effect how fast the drug moves through and then out of your body, making it so you might not receive the correct dosage, for instance, if you are supposed to take 2 a day, but you drink alcohol, you could end up with a med that lasts only 9 or 10 hours, instead of the 12 it should, which could affect how the drug works for you. This can also vary depending on how much alcohol you drink and your own metabolism, so it is always better to stay away from it when you are on a prescription medication.

What is this pill for and what is the adult prescription? ## I'm guessing that the "Amox" is for Amoxicillin - with that in mind, the other parts of your description could indicate the compound Clavulanic Acid. A brand name of this combination is Augmentin. Can you provide any specific markings, color, and shape of the pills? This would allow me to give you the exact drug name. what is the maximum mg/kg dose for a 5 year old with ear infection? ## That would be a matter you would need to dicuss with your doctor or pharmacist, the maximum dose will depend on the severity of the infection plus the child and their tolerance to the drug, if they have used it before, if other antibiotics haven't worked and etc. ## Child under 10 - 125 up to 250mg TDS. However if your kid had a prob with Amoxil the fricking MD sholddnt have Rxd it in the first place!
