Had this med for a spider bite a couple hours f months ago but never used it. Could I take it to treat a uti? ## Hello, Danielle! How are you? I am taking amox clav 875 mg 2x/day with little to no side effects. If you will take a probiotic (eg. acidopholus) or eat yogurt with live and active cultures when you take this medication (or any antibiotic) you will avoid or significantly reduce the side effects related to the gut, especially diarrhea. The probiotic/yogurt replaces the good gut bacteria destroyed by the non-specific antibiotic. Hope this helps. ## Hello, Iteechum! Thank you for the very helpful post! It is Saturday night and My female K-9 has uncontrolled urination and last time this occurred about a year ago the Vet prescribed Cephalexin 500mg. I am on day 5 of 7 of amox tr-k clv 875-125 mg tabs for a uti. After day 2 I am acting as if I am on steroids. Rotor tilled and planted two gardens, planted 4-flats of flowers, 6-rosebushes cut lots of grass. Was not even achy or had sore muscles. Stayed up half the nite camping out. Can't sleep at nite, talk non stop and not very hungry. This was all days 2-5. If it wasn't for the no sleep I'm getting a heck of a lot done.
