I started taking my antibiotic and percocets 10 is there any problem taking them on da same day ## Hello, Luis! How are you? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these two medications, but it's always best to double check to be sure. However, I can also tell you that these are often prescribed together, to treat an infection and the associated pain. The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Percocet is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I had a sever upper respiratory infection over 3 months ago. Found out I had fluid in my ears. My ears were ringing so loud. Took the regular amoxicillin til it was gone. Sent back a second time, was prescribed claritin & nasal spray. Neither worked. Went back a second time because was told I had fluid behind eardrum. Was prescribed amoxicillin- clav 500 Was feeling well for 2 days. Now, I have this constant hissing noise in left ear. Also, my ear is like stereo! Everything is LOUD ## That could be due to the infection, and it being cleared up. Have you informed your doctor of the issue? Has there been any change? The typical side effects of Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid may include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.

Can I drink milk with this antibiotic I just want some cereal but my mom said milk kills antibiotics. ## Hello, Cynt! How are you? Milk doesn't ruin the effectiveness of antibiotics, but it can cause you to absorb less of them than you normally would, because it coats the stomach. You can have milk and dairy products while taking it, but you should be sure to separate them by about 2 hours. Side effects to this antibiotic may include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

I've been taking this for 4 days by IV 1xdaily. 1 more day to go then I start oral for 5 days. Treatment for inflamed kidney. The problem I have is severe headache all the time. Tylenol doesn't help. Starts in my neck behind my left ear it's really tender to touch. Should I maybe talk about an alternative drug? ## Hello, Mel! How are you doing? Has there been any change? That can be a normal side effect of this medication, as reported by the FDA, along with nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. These side effects will be more prominent with the stronger IV doses, things should improve once you're taking the lower oral doses, though it may take a week, or so, for things to change. The tenderness behind you ear may be a swollen gland, due to your body fi...

Is this medication for yeast infection and can i still take it if the experation date is 03/11/10? ## No and no. Amoxicillin is an antibiotic and, as such, it can actually cause a yeast infection, it will not clear one up. It is only effective for bacterial infections and a yeast infection is caused by fungal growth. Learn more Augmentin information here. And once expired, it begins to lose effectiveness and should not be used, because it increases the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. If you have a yeast infection, you should see your doctor for confirmation and/or look into a medication that's formulated to eradicate them, such as Monistat. I NEED TO KNOW IF ITS OKAY IF 7 YEAR OLDS CAN TAKE AMOX/K CLAV 500MG Tablets? ## Was it prescribed by the child's pediatrician? If not, then no they should not be given to them. Attempts to diagnose and treat, without a doctor's approval, creates the risk of causing the child to develop antibiotic resistance bacteria. I'm not trying to say this is what you are doing, I just want to make the warning the clear. However, if it was prescribed by their pediatrician, then yes it is a dosage used for children for bad infections. It may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Learn more Augmentin details here. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am self treating a sinus infection. Started with 3 days of Cephalexin which I had from an infected finger. Also have 4 days of Amox from my sister. New job and can't take off to go to the doctor. Can I go from one to the other? Thanks! ## I should have mentioned that neither of the drugs is expired. Thanks for your thoughts! ## You shouldn't, what you really need is 10days worth of one continuous antibiotic. I know it's a pain to take off work to go to the doctor, but it's something that we all have to do sometimes. And, if you don't have enough of one antibiotic to treat an infection, you run the risk of developing antibiotic resistance, which would make you even more ill and you may end up with a much longer time period off of work, due to being in the hospital. ...

how long to be effective ## My daughter has taken 2 doses of Amox-Clav 875...How long before symptoms will begin to deminish? (bronchitis symptoms, diagnosed at walk-in clinic) ## This is actually a question that is very commonly asked about antibiotics. The way it should work is… Once the antibiotic has been started, if it's working, there should be no worsening of the condition after 24 hours of dosing. And improvement should be seen within 3 days (72 hours). Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Learn more Augmentin details here. May i take it for a UTI? It expired 2014. ## Unless a specific bacteria is detected that can be treated by this medication, it is not usually the preferred on to treat a UTI. The one normally used most often is Nitrofurantoin, so it would be best to see your doctor and let them prescribe an appropriate antibiotic. The FDA lists the typical antibiotic side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

So I just got prescribed this antibiotic for a dog bite and I have used amoxicillin before but it has never worked for me for anything I have used it for. Since this drug has it in it, will it even work for me? ## Did you discuss that with the prescribing doctor? They really don't know what does, or does not work for you, unless you tell them, or they have your full medical records. And exactly what do you mean by saying it doesn't work for you? This one, which contains Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid is a generic for Augmentin.

can I take amox/k clav 500 mg with losartan pot 50mg? ## I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between these medications, though it's always best to double check to be sure. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. It would actually be far more dangerous to let an infection continue out of control. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have enlargement of lymph nodes, can I use Amox K Clav 500-125? ## @Frank, Even though infections are the most common cause of swollen lymph nodes, it's not necessarily the only cause. For this reason I'd still encourage you to speak with your doctor about diagnosing the cause, before taking an antibiotic (if in fact you end up not needing to take it). In the event that it is an infection, Amoxicillin + Clavulanate Potassium (500 mg - 125 mg) does cover a broad spectrum of bacteria, so in my opinion it may be a feasible approach. You can read more on the causes and treatment options for swollen lymph nodes here: nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003097.htm I hope this helps!

I have a cough, wheezing chest and congestion, I've been taking OTC cold and cough for 3 days with no luck curing this condition. I have some Amox/K Clav 500mg left over form an other infection...will this work on what I now have? ## Hi Mike, I'm sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well. Amox/ K Clav (Amoxicillin + Clavulanate Potassium) will only help if the cough you are experiencing is caused by an upper respiratory infection. You could take the medication, but if it doesn't work the cough probably just needs to run its course. If I can recommend anything, it would be the essential oils Peppermint, Lavender, and Copaiba along with honey to sooth the throat. If you are interested in purchasing any of these oils, I would check out Young Living. I've used Copaiba o...

Dose this sound like possible effects? ## The upset stomach and gassiness can be normal side effects, but the constipation and back pain aren't, though it is difficult to guess how any medication will affect any given person that takes it. Have you talked to your doctor about this, yet? ## Yes. went to the Er. Was treated for gastritis (ulcer). They said that this often translates to back pain as well as the other symtons . The constipation was a a non isssue. Stress from the tooth problem and the perscription antibiotic was just to much for my stomach. ## Lee, Gastritis is a bit differ...
