I can confirm that this medication is not working as intended. Aurolife Pharma is not to be trusted. I'm going to see if I can get a lab to analyze this medication and pursue legal action. ## Unfortunately, you have no grounds to pursue legal action. Under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, generics are allowed to differ, in the amounts of the active ingredients, by as much as plus or minus 20%, this was done to get generics to market faster and create market competition to try to keep prices lower for those that are uninsured, or underinsured. Additionally, generics are not required to measure against each other, only against the name brand… so, conceivably, you could be a taking one that has the proper amount of the active ingredients, or is slightly higher in them… and sud...

How soon after taking hydrocodone 10/325 can I take tylenol #3. My doctor is switching me to the tylenol # 3 and I read "do not take tylenol #3 if you have 'recently" taken another narcotic medication," but it didn't state the meaning of 'recently." ## Hello, Najnaj! How are you? Unless your doctor, or pharmacist instructs otherwise, it is usually intended for you to stop the one medication and start taking the new one at the schedule dosing time. In other words, it usually not necessary to wait days, just the regular amount of time that you would take another one. The FDA classifies Tylenol 3 as a narcotic analgesic, so it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. can I take hydrocodone 15 hours after taking tylenol ## Hi Jack, Based on my research, after about 6-8 hours there should only be very small amounts of Tylenol left in your system. However, that could change depending on the amount taken. How many Tylenol did you take? Learn More: Tylenol Details ## I took two 500mg doses of regular Tylenol roughly an hour ago. Is it safe to take one 5-325mg tablet of Norco (hydrocodone/tylenol)? I am in excruciating pain. ## You can take it at the same time! Most hydrocodone drugs have Tylenol in them.!!!

Had a tooth extracted and I took two 500 mg of Tylenol. Can I take a 5 325 Vicodin three hours later? ## Yep drink water ## Hi Mark! You just need to be careful of the amount of Tylenol ( acetaminophen) you take. It gives you instructions on the Tylenol bottle as to how much you can take. Remember that the Vicodin has 325 mgs in it too, from what you said. ## If you take more than 650 mg of tylenol, you have to wait at least 6 hrs before taking any more tylenol, that includes the Vicodin. Do not take more than 1,000 tylenol every 6 hrs or more than 4,000 tylenol is a 24 hr period.

I currently take tylenol #4 for chronic back pain. Will taking Winadeine F 325/8mg provide the same level of pain relief? ## Both of these medications contain Acetaminophen with Codeine, but Winadeine-F is not available in the U.S. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## are they the same?? do they have the same amount of codine

And a caveat: There are serious dangerous associated with overdose, such as liver damage/failure or toxicity, so please do not exceed the recommended daily amount.

How many tylenol 3 with codeine do I have to take to make the same amount as 4 norcos 10/325? ## Hello, Kalife! How are you? It takes 66.67mgs of Codeine to be equal to each 10mgs of Hydrocodone. So roughly 2 Tylenol 3 for each Norco. However, the problem is that you can't double up that much due to the dangers of overdosing on the Acetaminophen in them, because that could be fatal. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Thus, you should only take it as prescribed by your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with?

Did this manufacturer raise the price of this medicine in the last 4 weeks? I am not insured. I have been on this med long term. For the last 2 yrs I paid 96.?? for 180 pills, about 3 mos. ago the price went down to 81.?? I just went to get them today and the price was 223.24 for 180 pills the same amount I have always gotten. The store said it was the manufacturer raising the price. I can't afford more than 200.00 I could barely pay the Dr. and 80.00 for my script. How do I find out if the manufacturer actually raised the price or if the store is feeding me a line of crap? Any help would be great! Thank you! ## hi I'm not sure exactly if they raised the price or not. I won't be surprised if they did since they have newly established FDA narcotic regulations. I am uninsured ...

I have chronic spine and hip pain from scoliosis and fibromyalgia. I took Vicodin for several years back when it did not have a generic and it did a good job for pain relief. The generic, Hydrocodone, supposedly has the same exact ingredient of codeine in the 5-300 cap, but does not give me pain relief. Do you think if I switched to Tylenol #3, which does NOT have a generic, that it's level of codeine would work better for pain relief? I am now very suspicious of generics! ## Hi Dane, RE: "What is the real amount of Codeine in Vicodin vs. Hydrocodone?" - This question actually doesn't make sense, because neither Vicodin nor Hydrocodone contain Codeine... Vicodin contains a combination of Hydrocodone + Acetaminophen (Tylenol). Tylenol #3 contains a combination of Codeine ...

I am taking Percocet 5/325 twice daily for rheumatoid arthritis and/or gout. If I take that with 2 Tylenol will effects and duration be effected? ## There is Tylenol (Acetaminophen) in the Percocet, that's what the 325mg amount designates, so it is not safe to add more, as it could result in overdose toxicity. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

He changed them due to the fact that the tyenol in them were eating away at my back where i had surgery, but they dont even begin to touch my pain. I have diabetic neourapythy, and several other things that cause severe pain, i dont want them to think that i am a drug seeker, because i am not. I am in so much pain, that it is difficult to even have a life anymore, and sleeping is out of the question, i might if i am lucky to get an hour a day. What do i do, i feel like i will die soon from the pain and not sleeping. ## Hello, Renee! How are you feeling? I'm so sorry that you're suffering. I understand why he cut the Acetaminophen, there are many possible risks associated with long-term use of high amounts of it… But, did he adjust the amount of Oxycodone to make up for it?...

I take two 5-325 hydrocodne/acetaminephin every night for back pain. Today I have a stomach bug and a bad headache, is it ok to take two extra strength tylenols for my headache? ## Sue, I'm not a licensed physician but my informed opinion is yes that amount of acetaminophen will certainly not cause any long-lasting effects, so don't suffer, treat your headache. No worries. ## sue, that is a total of 1650 mg of Tylenol and that is Too Much. You are not suppose to take any more than 1,000 mg Tylenol once every 6 hours. ## Hi Sue, Depending on what dose of acetaminophen you supplement with, it may very well fall within safe guidelines. For example, only taking 1 additional 325mg tab would put you at 975mgs of Acetaminophen each night (or every 24 hrs). Not to mention the FDA Drug S...

Can I take a norco and Tylenol 3 at the same time I am passing kidney stones and in pain very bad pain!! ## No, you shouldn't combine them, that could cause you to ingest a toxic amount of Acetaminophen, since it's in both of these medications. Too much Acetaminophen could cause liver damage or liver failure and an overdose has the potential to be fatal. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Additionally, you'd be doubling up on narcotics, since the Tylenol 3 contains Codeine and the Norco contains Hydrocodone. They can both cause depression of the central nervous system, which could cause shallow breathing, lowered heart rate and lowered blood p...

I 've been on subutex for about 6 months. Had a tooth pulled 5 days ago since I've takin 16 lorcett 7.5 some tylenol 3 and 3 trammadol I'm pretty sure in 24 hours it will be ok.. I wish I'd just stayed on the subutex my mouth still hurts like crazy but i want back on my subutex ## The Subutex only contains Buprenorphine, not the Naloxone that's in Suboxone, so you really shouldn't have to wait too long of a period of time. Learn more Subutex details here. However, I'd suggest checking with your doctor to be certain. Is anyone experienced in this area? ## You have to wait the same amount of time for both. The buprenorphine is what cause precipitated withdrawels not the naloxone which is useless and inactive because it can't compete with the bupe. Bupe has ...

If you use Norco for a few years to manage pain can you develop Cirrhosis of the liver or go into acute liver failure because of the Tylenol that it contains. I'm told excessive amounts of Tylenol and Tylenol in general are not good for your liver. I have been diagnosed with stage 4 Cirrhosis- as I'm told-more than likely due to Norco. Could this be true? ## Cirrhosis is not usually caused from Acetaminophen, it's most common causes are alcohol abuse, Hepatitis, non-alcoholic steatoheptatis, and hemochromatosis, according to NIH articles. Acetaminophen can cause harm to the liver, and may cause liver failure in those that take high doses, for a long period of time, though. Do you frequently drink alcoholic beverages?

Tylenol #3 irritates my digestive tract to the point I now require ppi medication. Is Hydromorph 3mg a safer alternative? ## Hello, Valerie! How are you? The risk of stomach irritation is about the same, it really depends on you and which one causes you the least amount of annoying side effects. Have you tried the Hydromorphone, yet? The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

I had surgery about 3 days ago on my throat and the pain is very unbearable, and I was wondering if it is dangerous to take Tylenol with oxycodone? My prescription says 1-2 5mg tablets every 4 hours but the pain is still terrible, so would it be bad to take Tylenol with it? ## Tylenol + oxycodone= "percocet", so no it is Not dangerous in the very least to take tylenol, it's fine. Can't really understand why ur Dr didn't give U percocet to begin with. ## @Taffyrose, As post #1 stated, Oxycodone and acetaminophen (tylenol) are a commonly prescribed combination med. The only thing I would encourage you to be aware of is the amount of tylenol you're taking within a 24hr period. Some over the counter doses of tylenol still contain up to 650 mgs of acetaminophen; vastl...

my pain is too much to handle. the doctor cannot give me more than 30 tablets of hydrocodone/acetaminophen at a time. So I need to know how many Tylenol to take to help me. ## Hi Nikki, To my understanding, no amount of tylenol (acetaminophen) is equivalent to the effects of Hydrocodone, before experiencing what would be considered an overdose of acetaminophen - which can be extremely toxic to the liver. It sounds like your best bet would probably be to ask your doctor for a stronger pain medication (that you can take less of) or opt for a safer, more natural alternative that can be used as an adjunctive therapy to what you already take. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Hydrocodone Details I hope this helps!

My doctor switched me from 1-2 tabs of norco 10/325 every 4-6 hours to 20- 40 ml of liquid 2.5mg/5ml every 4-6 hours - is it the same amount of norco? I know it has more tylenol in it but am I getting the same dosage of the norco? ## Well, first allow me to explain that Norco is a brand name for a medication that contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone, it is not actually the name of the narcotic ingredient you are asking about. That said, if it contains 2.5mgs of the Hydrodocone per 5ml, then 20mls would contain 10mgs, this would be equal to the amount in one of the tablets you used to take. That would also mean that if you use 40mls, you'd be taking 20mgs of Hydrocodone, or equal to 2 of the tablets that you used to take. The main differece though, between a liquid and a tablet is ...

what exactly is this pill i found it in a drawer and dont know what it is should i be concerned ## This is generic hydrocodone (for Lorcet, Lortab, Vicodin) 10mg with acetaminophen (or Tylenol) 500mg. It is a scheduled 3 narcotic that can be highly addictive. It causes marked drowsiness, euphoria, dizziness, blurred vision; of course, alcohol will intensify these conditions. 10mg is the highest amount of hydrocodone made in any prescription medication.
