Amlopres 5 Alternative

I am in a remote place in Panama with no chance to get to a doctor for 6 weeks. I am running out of amlopres 5 that i take for high blood pressure 140/100 w/o & 130/90 with. My wife has Metropolol 50mg on hand. When I run out of mine can I take that? Should I take 1/2 or 1/4? Or am I better to wait 6 wks and get amlopres 5?

I am 66 yrs and for the last one year taking Amplopres 5 to control my BP. Recently I developed Tinnaitus ie a mild sound from ear comming all time. ENT Doctor says could be the side effect of Amplopres 5. I have been taking Amlopres AT for hypertension for the last 5 years. Now I have developed swelling in my feet and ankles. What other suitable medicine can I use instead of Amlopres AT?
