Hi currently on holiday in Bali and my three year has picked up a bad chesty cough. She has mild asthma but her inhalers weren't helping so got hotel doctor to take a look. He came this morning and gave her ambroxol 15mg syrup and told us to give her 7.5mls three times a day. I'm very worried after looking this medication up on line as dosage recommended seems to be 2.5 mls for children her age. She hasn't had any reaction but wonder if we need another opinion or of anyone has had a similar experience and if this doseage is ok????

Could I give half of 30 mg ambroxol tablet to my daughter who is 2 yrs and 4 months old?My doctor gave it to me and I feel better... At her age could i cut it? Her doctor didn't give any ## I'm sorry Ann, but I don't have any information on the use of the tablets in children. Usually what's given to kids is a lower dose syrup, so I'd be worried that she may still get too much. What types of symptoms is she having? There are many other children's congestion products that you can give her.

For the past two weeks I have had a cough and cold. I tried solmux but it's still the same so last saturday I tried ambroxol and my mom suggested that I also have to take cephalexin? Is it OK to take these two medications at the same time? I've undergone 4 chest xrays in just 2 months before I had this cough so I'm afraid to go get an xray again because they say its bad for my health. Please I need advice. In the morning I always get mucous-like saliva and it has a really bad smell. I think it has to do with some of my non-real teeth. I was wondering if cefalexina/ambroxol will help in any way? And how much should I use? ## Based on my research, Ambroxol is a mucolytic agent that helps thin mucus; whilist Cefalexina (Cefalexin) is used to treat a variety infections caused by bacteria. If you were diagnosed with or believe you may have an upper respiratory infection or some sort, this may prove to be very helpful in that regard, due to the sheer potency of each active ingredient. However I can't offer any dosing advice since this type of information may be different on a case by case basis. Did you not receive this medication from a legitimate doctor/pharmacy?

I took Ambroxol Ambrolex OD 75mg at 9am today then took another one at 2pm. I'm so absent minded today that I forgot that the doctor said I must only take it once a day.. is that bad? what are the implications of this? i'm panicking.. thank you for your help.

i've been givng my 16months old baby with ambroxol syrup for 1 week yet he didnt get cured from his cough. this is due to my nanny is having coughs and colds also. can i still continue giving him abroxol even after a week of intake already? right now, his nanny is also under treatment.

If your son is dealing with a cough or nasal congestion, I recommend giving him a hot bath or using a humidifier in his room... the steam may help to loosen up the cough and clear the airways. If the symptoms persist or worsen and giving him the medication is your only option, then I suppose it would be best to follow your doctor's advice and give your baby the dose that your doctor prescribed. I have read that it isn't safe to give a child under the age of 2 any cough/cold medication. At your child's age, there is no way to know how medications could effect her system and her growth.
