So my pharmacy said they changed their brands from mallinckrodt to alvogen, both oxycodone 7.5/325 for insurance reasons. The alvogen caused ulcers, swelling in the throat, and didn't help with the pain from the coating. I thought they were giving a placbo or they had a very low mg, > 5. I told them about the problem and they filled another one anyway. I tried maylan 7.5/325 and they work fine. Conclusion alvogen company should be banned from making this product! ## Hello, SP! How are you? I am very sorry about the problem you had. Did you report the issues to the FDA? You can contact them at 888-463-6332, they take reports on adverse events with medications. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I had the exact prop w that brand my throat closed up ended up in hospital nee...

Does anyone have any experience with this particular medication. I see that their are lots of complaints on there generic percoset, but I'm talking of just plain oxycodone 15 mg made by alvogen, any information would be great & most appreciated. Again not their percoset version, I'm speaking of plain oxycodone w/ no Tylenol. I cannot take tylenol as it causes my liver to have problems. Thank You! ## Hello, Peggy O! How are you? I've not run across any complaints posted on here, so far, from those that have been taking it. Alvogen is generally a reputable company that manufactures effective medications. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Ca...

This pill doesn't work at all like others I have taken. I'm still in pain after I take it. ## I am very sorry that you are still in pain, Penny! Many people have complained about this, actually, though there are some others that have good results with it. How long have you been taking it? Have you informed your prescribed of the problem? There can be some slight fluctuations, when switching from one generic to another, but they are usually very minuscule and most people adjust after a few weeks, once their body gets used to the medication. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. ## This is the worst generic percocet I've ever taken. Went for my new prescription of Percocet today. Saw a P/A. Was given a totally new script: Alvogen Oxycod/ACET 10mg/325mg. Lower left bottom yellow label states 10mg oxycodone HCI is equivalent to 8.9637mg of oxycodone. This medicine is not working at all. Whats wrong? ## There can be differences from one generic medication to another, as was granted by the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, they are allowed to differ by as much as plus or minus 20% in the amount of the active ingredients. This was done to help bring generics to market faster and the FDA considers it an acceptable therapeutic window. Most people never notice a difference, however, some people are very sensitive to any change in their medication, or they may notice a difference, if they've been taking the same one for a long ...

I read this information about the pills on here and people want to make you think your crazy about medicine you have been taking for years. Like I have been taking the WATSON brand Oxycodone 10/325 for years and 1 always worked. It was the only pain med I was taking. I get up in the morning and hurt so bad I would take 1 and with in 15 minutes I felt I could make it through the day. I always had some left over every month. On Jan 2014 I went to get my meds filled and all the sudden no one seems to have the WATSON brand so I got stuck with ACTAVIS brand pill A333 on it for the whole month of Jan I hurt so bad then in Feb I told my Dr when I got my Prescription he told me to try another pharmacy. I did and I got the ALVOGEN Pill Yellow 230 and the same thing. it worked a little better but...

Yes, this is manufactured by Alvogen and they do list it as containing 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Your post makes no sense ## In my experience, which is 50/50 I also was given the white ones which provided 2 out of 3 months some pain relief. My last 2 months of taking Alvogen 10/325 are turning faint yellow and look like they have been in water as the shape and medicine doesn't seem to be that effective. Can you tell me why the pill is changing its color and not effective as of 3 months ago? I may have been taking the Watson brand or some other brand. ## Hi Judy, Are you meaning to say that the new prescription is yellow when you get them filled or that the pills gradually turn yellow [perhaps through oxidation or other unknown causes] while you have them in your possession? If the latter, I think that is really strange and this is probably the first time I've heard of something like that happening to any pharmaceutical. If I were you I'd consider contacting the pharmacy who filled your prescription and ask them...

There is a noticeable difference in the pain relief level. Chronic Arthritis has left me virtually an invalid. Without these meds I have extreme difficulty moving and sometimes merely being at rest. I find the same prescription filled with Midlothian mgf to be less effective than the generic manufactured by Alvogen. Is there a difference in the formulation? Is there a possibility the midlothian brand is counterfeit? Prescription filled by Publix, usually from Alvogen but occasional from Midlothian. Hence the question. ## Under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, generics are allowed to differ from the name brand by as much as plus or minus 20% in the amount of the active ingredients, sometimes problems arise, because they do not have to measure against each other, only against the name brand....

Learn more Percocet details here. Who was the manufacturer of the other one that you were taking? Have you tried to see if your pharmacy can order it in for you? ## I found a form on the fda website to report drugs that are not good. Please report Alvogen for their percocet not working. Alvogen 10/325 any one else feel it is not controlling their pain as well as other brands. Thanks for your input. ## Hi Annie, I have not tried the Alvogen brand specifically, but according to other related threads on here, Endo Pharmaceuticals is touted as having one of the best working Percocet tablets by comparison. My theory is that one or more of the binders/fillers that Alvogen tabs are composed of aren't able to sufficiently metabolize in our body, thus leaving part of the active ingredient(s) lying dormant within. I don't know if this makes much sense to anyone else who may be reading, but it seems like a feasible possibility since each manufacturer uses a different set of inactive ingredients. ## Thank you very much for answering my question, in your opion it will work ...

A round, yellow tablet with the Alvogen logo on one side and 230 on the opposite contains 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, it is a generic for Percocet. That's actually meant to be an oriental C, it is logo used by Alvogen and yes, they list them as containing 10mgs of Oxycodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen in a regular release formulation, so they can be cut or broken, if your doctor approves. I have been prescribed Oxycodone 15 mg tabs for my chronic pain. My pharmacy, when in stock, carries Alvogen brand. I have absolutely no issues with this brand. They are very effective with easing my pain. That is what it is intended for. Not to feel high as a kite. So for those who suffer from LEGIT chronic pain, this should be just as effective as other brands. ## Your comment is extremely upsetting. I suffer from chronic pain and have been on Roxane brand oxycodone until this last refill that is Alvogen. As a stay at home mom, I cannot stand a loopy drugged up feeling because I have many things to do with and for my son. I have taken several doses now and it is absolutely horrible. I get more of the drugged up feeling with it than normal and I have no pain relief. I could barely walk...
