Both the XR and SR are just different abbreviations that stand for the same thing, they denote it as a controlled release medication. Some other abbreviations used for the same thing are ER and CR. However, post # 1 is correct about the possibility of either dosage varying by plus or minus 20%. From what I understand, that's the amount of wiggle room generic meds are allowed to have. I have taken small dosage of Alprazolam 0.5 ER in morning and 0.5 regular at bedtime for years. I have always had the generic Dava and it has worked fine. Now the pharmacy is changing to SunPharma. I refused it after reading about some manufacturing shutdowns. I am considering Costco shipping mine since it so much less expensive. They carry Boca generic. Walmart carried Purpac or Actavis. Has anybody ever used any of these and do you find differences in ability to control anxiety. Ok so a previous conversation I had with alprazolam user was with the newly approved Auribindo alprazolam ERs here in the US. They only make extended release here on US and they make instant release as well but do not believe they are approved in the US just the extended release ER/XR..and aurobindos is as follows: .5mg er- x 72 1mg er- x 73 2mg er- x 74 3mg er- x 75 I have not yet tried any of the auribindo alprazolam products. I have done a lot of reading on the new United States 2013 Xanax laws. There aren't any? You can still obtain up to a 6 month supply of any schedule IV (4) medicine which includes Xanax. Some States have limited MD's to writing for a 30 day supply even forcing you to see a Specialist and putting you on a 'performance plan'. Is this a 3mg xanax? I get mine next week, and my friends mom gave me 5 til then. It says online it is but there are no images ...im paranoid lol ## You should be paranoid and no laughing out loud either. I would be furious if my child's friends mom gave my child controlled medication. This is a FELONY in every part of the America and both of you can spend time in prison. ## Ya I freaked out on her....i flushed them but wanted to know what they was! So no felony on my part. I flushed em and handled it. ## And yes they are the 3 MG ER Xanax but that is a really large dose and will be quite expensive vs regular 1 or two mg alprazolam.

Which if I am not mistaken, does not actually exist! The licence to produce alprazolam tablets under that brand name is held by Parke Davis. The blister is in English and Urdu, marked 'XANAX 0.5mg tablets' and says clearly 'manufactured by Parke Davis Ltd' and 'under licence from Pharmacia'. From what I've researched Kalma appears to be an Australian trade name of Alprazolam, made by Alphapharm. It reportedly comes in 0.25mg, 0.5mg, 1mg and 2mg dosage forms and carries the following set of inactive ingredients: lactose sodium benzoate maize starch magnesium stearate sodium starch glycollate microcrystalline cellulose colloidal anhydrous silica povidone docusate sodium indigo carmine (Kalma 0.5 mg and Kalma 1 mg only) erythrosine (Kalma 0.5 mg only) The tablets are also listed as being gluten free. Hope this info helps anyone else who may be interested in asking their doctor about taking Kalma.
