I have an upper ,cracked, decayed, piece of tooth that has been there awhile. I noticed that above the tooth was 2 whiteish spot on the gum. No pain yet, however... I am currently taking sulfamethox-tmp ds for uti. Question-- Will this also work for infected gum or not? I was given 10 tablets to take twice a day. Thanks :) ## It is an antibiotic, so it can also help with that, but it is really only going to last as long as your taking and possibly a week or so after. Since the problem that's causing the infection will still be there, it is highly likely that it will just recur. You should really see a dentist to get the problem resolved. It would be best to do it while you are on the antibiotic, or as soon as possible as you stop, because it more painful to have them remove the tooth,...

I used Refusal very successful in Holland, now I am in Bosnia where they only have Esperal. Good luck, alcoholism is a very difficult disease. Be careful with implant, I heard it really has risks. But better then drinking! Ronald ## Hi Ronald, You're absolutely right about alcoholism being a difficult disease to kick out of habit. However, I've heard that this type of treatment can be a real success for many people. I haven't actually seen any medications by the name of "Refusal" listed on the web, but that could be because I'm located here in the US and not EU. Apparently Esperal (disulfiram) works by creating what most drinkers would consider to be an unpleasant reaction to alcohol, eventually lessening one's desire to continue drinking. It's supposed t...

Thought I must have bumped my knee, as it was a little stiff and sore 2 days ago, but I didn't bump it on anything I recall. Yesterday, it increased to the point of not being able to bend it without extreme pain, and swelling has come on. Took 2 panadol, and the pain receded, if I didn't move it. Today it is worse, and I can't do almost anything. It's a painful struggle to get to the toilet, and sitting is out of the question. I am stuck on my bed for the greater part. If I move it at all, it takes around an hour for the pain to back off. There is a round pink blotch the size of a 50-cent piece slightly above the knee-cap, but I can gently move the kneecap with hand without a problem or pain. Severe pain when bending the knee, and then for hours after, or the pain gets wors
