I am trying to become pregnant this month. Doctor had given me Livogen tabs. Can it be consumed at this time? ## Livogen is just a nutritional supplement, so there is no harm in taking it, if your doctor has instructed you to do so. The U.S. FDA warns that it may cause nausea, as a side effect, due to its potency. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hello, My name is Elena and I have a question about Metronidazole: I began treatment for 5 days with amoxicillin (4 per day) and Metronidazole (3 per day) in the first day of the menstrual cycle. It's OK if you get pregnant this month given that the first five days of the menstrual cycle they take Metronidazole? Or should I expect? Thank you ## Hello, Elena! How are you? No, there shouldn't be a problem with a future pregnancy, but taking the antibiotics may throw your cycle off this month. As reported by the FDA, they tend to make it longer, so you may not ovulate at the time you would expect, it may occur a few days later than usual. Generally, I've found that taking an antibiotic adds about 3 to 4 days to my cycle. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for ...

i want to stop my pregnancy for two years which medicine is good for me . ## There are oral contraceptive pills that you can take daily and then stop, when you wish to be able to become pregnant. However, not everyone can safely take them, so you'll need a health exam and some tests, before they can be prescribed. You also have to remember to take them daily, as missing any can result in pregnancy. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. There are also intrauterine devices that can be implanted by a doctor to prevent pregnancy. They are usually effective for several years and can be removed, when you are ready to get pregnant. Again, this is something you'd need to see a doctor to have done. Learn more IUD details here. I'm not a doctor, so I can't say which would be...

I have been on Sprintec for years now and I take it regularly around 4am before I go to sleep, works best with my schedule. My boyfriend finished in me by accident and I was advised to not take Plan B and just continue taking my BC as scheduled. I am very worried I could be pregnant. But you don’t ovulate on birth control correct? Because when he finished in me it was my “ovulating day” according to my period tracker app, but since you don’t actually ovulate I tend to overlook that. any experience with anyone else? always let your significant other finish in you and don’t worry? and also about ovulating on the pill, thank you ## Yes, the intent of the pill is to prevent ovulation, that it why it is so effective at preventing pregnancy. You can find many FDA...

I'm 32 and I have been an opiate addict for about 3 years. It started innocently as treatment for my RA and just blew out of control. I tried detox and all that before and ended in failure, so I found a good Dr and started suboxone treatment and have not touched a pain pill since. However 4 months ago I found out I was pregnant and rather than risk a miscarriage from withdraw my Dr changed my script to subutex. I'm truly terrified of my labor because I have a phobia of needles so an epidural is out of the question for me. My Dr said they can give me a higher dose of pain meds thru my labor for pain but I'm so scared they will overdose me or harm the baby. What are the risks of taking pain medication while on the subutex? Does anyone know? ## I am not going to deny that labor...

In most countries, it has been removed from the market, because it was found to be very dangerous. Have you consulted them to ask what you can safely take?

My depo shot just ended . I got it o December 8th, 3 months would make March 8th. If I were to be pregnant and didn't know and started taking Sprintec, what would happen to the baby? ## Hello, Candace! How are you? It would be best to check for pregnancy, before starting the oral contraceptive, if you have reason to suspect that you might be pregnant. However, oral contraceptives will not end an existing pregnancy, if you start them and are pregnant. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleeding and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have a friend that I'm worried about. She has been taking methadone, oxycodone and methamphetamine. She is 2 weeks away from having her baby... If that is the case, you should really discuss it with your doctor, because no studies have been done regarding its possible effects on a baby. However, other similar drugs have been known to cause some problems. Are there any other questions?

So I've been on Depakote ER 500mg for 3 months now.(sorry if this is tmi) I've always had regular menstrual cycles but since I have started I didn't have one for two months then had a terrible painful one, hair loss, weight gain... just every terrible side effect I am on it for bipolar not for seizures and I want to get pregnant haven't been using protection since I've been on this and ive had two pregnancies before the meds easily, so I'm wondering how long it'll take after I taper myself off to be able to get back into a normal cycle and feel normal again any personal expierences are welcomed too. ## The FDA lists Depakote as being in pregnancy category D, meaning that there is definitive evidence of fetal risk, if women were taking it while pregnant.
