Wife was just standing when her femur fractured just below the hip joint. She fell to the ground, in agony. Orthopedic surgeon said she DID NOT have osteoporosis, in fact her bones were very solid. She took Fosamax for years, for the last three or four, was on generic alendronate Sodium. Now has a metal rod in the femur, held in by a pin and screw. She faces months of pain and healing.
