I have a patient, my wife, whom I personally take good care at home. She has liver cancer. The following medicine are administered to her as maintenance: Neobloc tablet 50mg, omempron capsule 20mg, aldactone tablet 50mg, cozaar tablet 50mg, lantus and humalog insulin. Now, I want to know the functions/purpose of above mentioned medicines. Thank you very much. ## Sorry to hear about your wife. I hope that she may find some relief. Neobloc contains the active ingredient Metoprolol which is used mainly to treat high blood pressure. Omepron contains the active ingredient Omeprazole which is used to treat stomach conditions such as peptic ulcers, gerd, etc. It basically helps to inhibit the amount of stomach acid produced. Aldactone is used to help treat heart failure and blood pressure. Coz...

He is taking Cardivas 3.125, Cardace 2.5, Flavedon MR, Rosave 20, Deplatt A 75, AKT 4, Rantac 150, Urimax, and Aldactone (25). ace inhepature ## Do you mean the drug Aldactone? Aldactone is a potassium-sparing diuretic used to treat congestive heart failure or high blood pressure. It may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor. ## What Lisa posted is correct, it contains the active ingredient Spironolactone. This is the only diuretic that works safely for me, I have a bottle in the cupboard, because it is my rescue medication, in case I experience fluid retention, again. It can cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, frequent urination, hypotension, and dehydration. Has this been prescribed for you?

My Dr prescribed Demedex 20mg once a day and aldactone 50mg 2times a day seems like a lot of diuretic too take I have a lot of fluid for some reason last time I took torsimide/demedex my sodium level was very low and I was hospitalized I worry about that is there any natural way to try and lose the fluid I don’t like taking meds to begin with ## Do you know why you are experiencing such fluid retention? Do you have high blood pressure, or a cardiac condition? That's really not an outrageous amount to take. It is also far more risky to allow fluid retention to remain uncontrolled, since that could result in congestive heart failure, which has the potential to be fatal. Do you eat a lot of salty, or fatty foods? Both could contribute to fluid retention. Are you on any other medi...

Hi, my mother has High BP. It was 140/90 for the past few years.. But for the last one month it has gone up to (150-160)/(100-110). She is 49 years old. She is using Concor 2.5mg, Ln block 10 (twice a day) and Aldactone 25 mg. But still the BP is at the same level. She even consulted a cardiologist but everything is normal. Please suggest what can be done to reduce the BP. Can someone suggest any dietary changes or any medications that can reduce the BP? ## Hello, Srao! How is your mother doing? Some people are sodium sensitive, according to the NIH, so she might do better if she lowers her salt intake as much as possible. Eating healthy low fat foods can also help, so can exercising. She can also speak to her doctor about raising the dosage of her medications, or trying different ones....
