Can an individual have a positive serum alcohol when taking Bromfed DM? ## Hello, Linda! How are you? Yes, they can. Bromfed DM is actually listed as containing 0.95% alcohol, as reported by the FDA. That may not seem like a lot, but if someone is taking it regularly, or took it close to the time their serum alcohol was tested, it could result in a positive result. Is there anything else I can help with?

Doxycycl Hyc 100mg Cap, do you know if you are allowed to drink alcohol while taking this medication. ## Alcohol should generally be avoided while you are taking any prescription medication. The reason is because alcohol can cause aggravation of the side effects, such as nausea, dizziness and drowsiness, which can result in one drink being equivalent to 2 or 3 and so on. Learn more Doxycyline details here. So, if you do decide to drink anyway, don't expect to be able to indulge quite as much as you usually do and make sure that you won't be driving. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Can u drink alcohol if you took 1 room quin several hours ago

please let me kow of any interactions with alcohol and keppra ## yes, alcohol is a bad mixture with this medication. I would advise you to really think that through. I ended up in the emergency room 2 months ago because I had a break through seizure due to alcohol. ## Keppra contains the active ingredient Levetiracetam and is an anticonvulsant medication. That said, it is never a good idea to mix alcohol with prescription medications. Not only can it reduce the effectiveness of some, as Sarah discovered, but it can also aggravate the side effects. Some of the most common side effects of this medication include: nausea, hair loss, headache and depression. You can read more about this medication here: Is there anything else I can help you with?

Alcoholism is a broad term for problems with alcohol, and is generally used to mean compulsive and uncontrolled consumption of alcoholic beverages, usually to the detriment of the drinker's health, personal relationships, and social standing. It is medically considered a disease, specifically an addictive illness, and in psychiatry several other terms are used, specifically "alcohol abuse" and "alcohol dependence," which have slightly different definitions.[1] In 1979 an expert World Health O...

why shouldn't you take nexium with alcohol, when alcohol gives you heartburn ## Nexium treats heart burn symptoms as a result of excessive consumption of alcohol. Nexium prescription will reduce the severity of such symptoms. However prolonged use of this medicine is not advisable. In fact nexium pills show better relief from gastro esophageal reflux diseases (GERD) only. Some users get really ill when combining alcohol and nexium, while this combination doesn't have the same effect on others. Nexium (esomeprazole), however, is metabolized by the liver; so if you have a liver disease from too much alcohol, this would not be a wise choice. Additionally, in some people, alcohol can cause acid reflux to be worse. So while there isn't a drug interaction between Nexium and alcoho...

I found this pill in my sons room and he said it was a roxycotton I need to know what it is and what it looks like. This was a white pill that had some letters on it. ## The challenge is that Roxicodone (active ingredient Oxycodone) can have many different appearances. This is a potentially dangerous and addicting narcotic, and can be fatal when consumed with alcohol. Please intervene and make sure your son stops with these. Also, in order to properly identify what the pills are (as far as exact dosage and ingredients go), we need to know the exact letters / numbers / markings / shape / color of the pills. There are just so many variations out there. Can you please post back with extra details? Also, if you have any other questions or info to share please feel free to add that to the co...

I stop taking CHERATUSSIN AC SYRUP 12 hours ago. I was if was okay to drink alcohol now? ## Hi Kira, Although instructions note that you should avoid alcohol while taking Cheratussin AC (due to an increase in CNS depression), I think if you were to wait a full 12 hours you should be fine. The effects of Cheratussin should've worn off by then anyways. I just recommend using caution and being conscious of how it might be affecting you, so you can make the best judgment of how much alcohol you can safely drink. I hope this advice helps!

how long to get out of system? regardless of amount, example: 24 oz @ 8%, last drank on saturday 7pm ## Based on my research, alcohol is generally out of your body within 3 to 5 days after your last drink. However in my opinion, you always have to take into consideration the amount you drank, since your body can only excrete so much at any given moment. Other individual factors that may also influence this are one's weight, metabolism, eating/drinking habits, and how active you are. Additionally, I would recommend drinking plenty of water throughout the day to encourage a quicker process, but allowing 3 to 5 days is a fair estimate for most people, I'd say. Hope this helps!

Looking for some real life experiences to hear about. I'm new to nuvigil as of today, and like to have the occasional cocktail. I've read warnings saying not to combine, so am I going to have to quit drinking? Anyone with experience I'd love to hear from you. ## Hi James, I'm not one to speak from personal experience, but according to umm.edu, there are no drug interactions listed between Nuvigil (armodafinil) and Alcohol. Based on these findings alone, I have no reason to believe that you'd experience complications upon using the two together in a responsible manner. Other drug interaction checkers I've come across do not list anything discrepancies either, so depending on where you read those warnings suggesting otherwise, it seems to me like the best thing to ...

I am a 64 year old male living in Spain & have been taking Sintrom on its own for about a week. I was previously taking 150mg of Heparin by injection daily + varing amounts of Sintrom. Whilst I understand and fully appreciate what the Dr.'s are doing for me,they say just 1 beer a day is permitable, that could present a problem when the temperature's touch the mid thirties, so what exactly is the effect of alcohol with Sintrom? ## mixing brandy with sintrom 4mg ## dringking brandy whilst ntaking sintrom 4mg ## Sintrom contains the active ingredient Warfarin, it is a blood thinner. They reason they warn against using this with alcohol is because alcohol also acts as a blood thinner, so it can severely increase your risk of bleeding. In addition, excessive amounts of alcohol ca...

I am currently on my first week of Qsymia. I need someone's honest opinion and I will ask my doctor too once I see her again. I am not a big drinker at all but when I go on vacation I do get a couple of drinks here and then or maybe once a day. It's my vacation and I want to enjoy it. Am I going to die if I have a drink or 2 or would you recommend stopping the medication for the week and half I am on vacation? ## Hi Steph, According to umm.edu's drug interaction tool, drinking alcohol while taking Qysmia is not recommended as it may increase or decrease blood levels of topiramate (one of the active ingredients in Qysmia) potentially resulting in more side effects and/or a less effective dose. They also goes on to note that the combination of alcohol and topiramate may cause ...

I took 1 oxycodone 2 hours ago it was 325mg will I be ok if I drink a 40? YES I know this is probably stupid but don't judge! ## Hello, Yomama! How are you? No, you shouldn't mix alcohol with a narcotic medication, such as this one, because on top of making the regular side effects worse, they can both cause depression of the central nervous system, which creates the dangerous risk of heart and/or lung failure. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have BiPolar as well as epilepsy. I been using Lamictin (250Mg) since 2003. I have change to Epitec (250Mg)a month ago. First thing I want to tell people, go and let a medical practioner check your lamictin level. It should be between 4 and 12. So you can know how much to use. I also used Epanuitin (300Mg) before Lamictin. It gave me bumps in my fore arms thats why I change to Lamictin. Lamictin did not give me headaches but I got disorientated from time to time. Lamictin also are very influeinced by alcohol while it seems epitec are more tollerant. However I prefer Lamictin, the side effects are more acceptable. Anger cost at the end more. Losing friends and family. I do not drink alcohol, but some one that does will have more problems with Lamictin than Epictec. Lastly. If you feel dro

You are not supposed to drink while on Lyrica. I made the big mistake of doing that. I took my dose in the morning and then got invited by some friends to go out. I do not usually drink, but started drinking around 9:30 pm. I was found in an alley behind a restaurant at 4 am. The last thing I remember was last call at 2am. I am only posting this to give a VERY strong warning not to drink while on this medication. Luckily I am OK and still alive. It is a horrible feeling to not know what happened in those 2 hours. Please do not drink while on Lyrica. ## I have been on Lyrica at various strengths from 200mg/day down to 50mg/day. I drink (probably more than I should) but I have never experienced any problems drinking the equivalent of 5 or so drinks while on this medication. I have experie...

Since taking Victoza I feel like my stomach is digesting alcohol differently. I feel like I have a hangover the next day even if I just have a few drinks. ## Hello, Terry! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're having. Likely, it is due to 2 issues, the first issue, which I am not sure you are aware of is that alcohol can lower your blood sugar levels, thus when you drink, it could be making it drop too low. Have you ever checked your levels, after having a few drinks? The next issue is that alcohol can enhance the side effects of a medication, so you may experience more nausea, dizziness and drowsiness than usual, after having a few drinks, as reported by the FDA. So, there is probably good reasons why you feel that way. Most medications, when combined with alcohol, ca...

He pushes his body to the limit all week, then on the weekend, he says he won't drink, but somehow always starts and doesn't stop till he's completely ...passed out. I've been hearing about medications to help control the urge to drink.Naltrexone,Topiramate. I'm hoping he can get a handle on it before it completely destroys his future.ANY HELP PLEASE. Kay

What is the effect of having zapiz 1 mg or more, with alcohol? Meaning: if i have 1and a 1/2 mg of zapiz and then drink alcohol, what would be the affect on my body? need expertise. thanks! ## Zapiz contains the active ingredient Clonazepam, it is a Benzodiazepine that is commonly used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders. The main danger that arises from combining it with alcohol is that the alcohol can intensify the side effects, which can include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and irritability. The major thing, however, that you have to watch for is the central nervous system depression. The medication causes this, that's how it works and the alcohol can make that even worse. For some people, this can be very dangerous and cause emergency situations or death, because it slows y...

I have been taking trazadone for 2 weeks for sleeping 25mg-50mg a day. I last had 25mg at 23.30 last night and would like to drink this evening frlm 7pm. Obviously I wont take my trazadone tonight but will I be okay to drink? Will it be out of my system? Thanks. ## It is best not to mix it will alcohol, even by skipping the next dose. It can aggravate the side effects, making you experience more nausea, dizziness and drowsiness than usual. However, if your doctor approves of your imbibing, please make sure that you will not be driving or operating heavy machinery. The FDA lists the other typical side effects of this medication as possibly including dry mouth, headache and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?
